Chapter 708: Chapter 92 Hunting

This place resembles a devastated ancient district, with ruins and broken walls everywhere, bearing the traces of war.

Xu Mo and his companions walked forward, noticing that the area below was full of alleys, with many Mechanical Bodies wandering around; many people lived in this region.

As they passed by, Xu Mo saw many of the lower-class people curled up in corners, peddling food and goods, but he also saw figures in armor passing by and taking whatever they wanted without paying. Should anyone approach them, they would be beaten up.

In a world ravaged by war, the lower classes are like ants. Only some who are considered valuable could become Slaves. Many children, their faces sallow and bodies emaciated, did not even have the qualifications to be Slaves and could only beg to survive.

Individuals like Alice, an Isaien who was trafficked to this planet for her extreme beauty and charm, was regarded as relatively valuable among the Slaves and managed to maintain a well-groomed appearance, although it meant selling her soul.

Therefore, when Xu Mo made her his Slave, Alice did not resist. She had been educated and knew of Odin Mountain Star; serving as a Slave to a Prince of the Odin Mountain Royal Family was far better than being with Komo.

In this place, one needed to be on edge every day.

Thinking of this, Alice glanced at Xu Mo beside her and noticed he was clad in Armor, looking valiant. She felt a stirring of attraction, thinking that becoming his woman wouldn’t be a bad idea.

From up ahead came the roar of cheers. “We’re almost there,” Alice said, “just ahead is the Mechanical Casino.”

Xu Mo nodded and continued walking. Soon they reached a higher ground where many people were standing on the ruins above, and below was something akin to a beast-fighting Arena. Xu Mo saw humans and Monsters engaged in battle; the Monster was covered in Scale Armor, also akin to Armor.

“Many people here are Slaves; the Monsters are from other Races. Sometimes it’s human against human, other times it’s human against Monster,” Alice explained. Xu Mo nodded. It was the era of the Silver Star Empire’s rule, and humans were the rulers of the Empire.

In the Star System, there were other Races considered alien, or Monsters. Even today, there are planets ruled by alien Monsters.

Humans on Byron Star almost faced annihilation due to wars; if humanity had perished, Byron Star would have also become a Monster planet.

In the Austin Star Cluster, many places had become inhospitable after the war, with not just humans but also alien Monster Races proliferating.

Xu Mo glanced at the Arena. He had experienced many human battles, but this was his first time witnessing a fight between humans and Monsters, and this Arena was clearly a life-and-death competition, very cruel and cold-blooded.

Indeed, moments later, the Monster killed a human, but the people around shouted with excitement, displaying indifference to life.

Compared to this chaotic and lawless planet, the civilizations of planets like Lucas Star in the Star System Alliance were far more advanced.

After a battle, the crowd began to disperse, and Alyssa led Xu Mo to a place. There approached a middle-aged man in Armor, his skin dark and eyes piercing, even his smile carried a hint of ferocity. It was Komo.

“Miss Alyssa,” said Komo, greeting Alice with a bow, his hand placed on his chest, though it looked somewhat awkward.

“Mr. Komo,” Alyssa returned the gesture, “this is Mr. Sorey.”

Clearly, both parties were acting. Of course, Komo wasn’t aware of the role that Alyssa was now playing; he still had the mindset of a Hunter, regarding Xu Mo as prey that had bitten the bait.

“Mr. Sorey,” Komo extended his hand to shake with Xu Mo, but Xu Mo didn’t reach out. Instead, he just looked at Komo indifferently, causing Komo to pause and retract his hand awkwardly, laughing, “What would Prince Sorey like to enjoy here?”

He sneered inwardly. A prince from Odin Mountain Star? Certainly quite arrogant, but this prince probably didn’t realize where he was.

“Just looking around.” Xu Mo wrapped an arm around Alice’s slender waist and walked forward, with Ye Huan and others remaining silent, quietly following behind, playing their roles as guards well. However, Ye Xi was wondering whether to discuss what happened here with Zero after returning.

Komo followed behind Xu Mo with a sudden cold look in his eyes, staring at Xu Mo’s arm around Alyssa. Then a malicious grin flashed across his gaze before returning to normal, as he continued to follow behind Xu Mo.

This prey was not simple; perhaps it would require a bit more effort. Those guards were probably no ordinary characters either, considering their equipment, which looked no less than high-level, fitting for someone of the Royal Family’s entourage.

Alice, held by Xu Mo, felt her body go soft, leaning against Xu Mo’s Armor like a fragile woman.

Xu Mo found a place to sit down, with Ye Huan and the others standing around him. He pulled Alice onto his lap; Ye Xi glanced over, wondering if this was still an act or if it had become real.

“Mr. Komo,” Xu Mo turned his head and spoke coldly, prompting Komo to step forward and sit beside Xu Mo.

“I’ve heard from Alice that you have some influence here, but I’m somewhat skeptical; this Arena looks rather shabby. Is your planet that poor?” Xu Mo started to say, prompting Komo to curse inwardly at the damned sheep.

“Things aren’t always as they appear on the surface, Prince Sorey. Maybe I could collaborate with Prince Sorey on something,” Komo said.
