THE YOUNG URBAN DOCTOR
Chapter 752 - Chapter 752: Chapter 752: If You Want to Marry Her, I'll Find a WayChapter 752: Chapter 752: If You Want to Marry Her, I’ll Find a Way
Phoenix didn’t take Luo Ziling to a teahouse or a café to discuss matters; instead, she drove like a bolt of lightning and, after a wild ride, stopped in a woodland not far from the sanatorium.
“What are you planning to do?” Luo Ziling got nervous when he saw that Lin Lan had brought him to such an isolated place. “I warn you not to try any tricks; you can’t beat me.”
Phoenix ignored Luo Ziling’s irritation and calmly said, “A few days ago, we lost a comrade, an expert at using medicine.”
“How did that happen?” Luo Ziling asked in surprise. “Was it an accident, or was he killed by the enemy?”
“He sacrificed himself on a mission,” Phoenix sighed slightly before continuing. “He was the best in our team at using medicine. Since his passing, we haven’t been able to find someone with those skills. I know you must be skilled in making medicines and poisons, maybe even better than he was.”
“You want me to become an official team member and join you in operations?” Luo Ziling asked in surprise and, without waiting for Phoenix to reply, he refused. “No, I have no such intention.”
“Teach me your skills, as long as I learn them, then our team won’t lack talent in this area.”
“But even so, you don’t have the right to demand that I agree,” Luo Ziling said a bit angrily. “Is this how you ask for a favor? Don’t you know that to ask someone for something, you definitely need to show humility, offer some benefits, and ask nicely to get results. The way you’re doing it, all cold and demanding, only a fool would agree.”
“Sorry, I’m just used to this way,” Phoenix turned to look at Luo Ziling, “but I hope for your help.”
“No,” Luo Ziling still shook his head. “Your attitude isn’t sincere at all, and it’s very uncomfortable to listen to.”
Phoenix immediately became annoyed, her gaze toward Luo Ziling carrying a nearly murderous intent, but Luo Ziling completely ignored it, staring back at her arrogantly, not flinching at all.
He even taunted her a few more times after their staring contest. “What I hate the most is seeing pretty women pretending to be cool, acting as if they are so impressive.”
“What do you want, then?” Phoenix asked, furrowing her brows and clearly displeased.
“Ask more sincerely, and maybe I’ll consider it.” Seeing that Phoenix had softened her stance, Luo Ziling lowered his demands.
“I hope to improve Dragon Rise’s strength through my own efforts, and I want to raise my status within Dragon Rise, so I hope to develop more comprehensively in all aspects.” Phoenix, uncharacteristically, continued in a lengthy speech before slowing down. “You are also a member of Dragon Rise, and its achievements belong to you as well.”
“You’re not a good lobbyist,” Luo Ziling interrupted her. “To tell you the truth, I can indeed make killer drugs that are undetectable and easy to concoct. But my grandfather has repeatedly reminded me that our mission is to save people, not to kill. Therefore, I won’t pass on these skills to others.”
“Then tell me, what do I need to do for you to be willing to help me?” Phoenix truly softened her tone.
“Take me back, and we’ll discuss this matter again when we meet next time. If I’m in a good mood when I see you, I might be willing to help. It all depends on the young master’s mood.” Luo Ziling suddenly felt that playing around with a woman like Phoenix could actually be quite enjoyable.
“I might not be here tomorrow, I have to leave tonight,” Phoenix said, her expression turning serious again. “You might not see me next time, or possibly never again.”
“What are you going to do? Such a dangerous mission?” Luo Ziling was startled.
Phoenix didn’t speak, just looked at Luo Ziling silently, her eyes void of any ripple.
“Alright, I’ll give you a recipe,” Luo Ziling said as he took out paper and a pen from his bag, quickly wrote down the name of the medicine, and handed it to Phoenix. “This is a very potent hallucinogenic drug; it might be useful to you. As for the other recipes, I need my grandfather’s permission to give them to you. Also, here are a few medicines for you.”
Luo Ziling said, handing over several emergency medications to Phoenix, including a pill that didn’t have a name but was always referred to as the “Life-saving Pill,” along with a bottle of medicine that promoted rapid healing of wounds, and a quick clotting agent. After giving them to her, Luo Ziling briefly explained their effects and mentioned that these were personal gifts for Phoenix, and nobody else should know.
Having described their general effects, Luo Ziling then said with pride, “The price of these medications could probably match the value of your car. Alright, no need for thanks, just take me back to school.”
“Okay,” Phoenix accepted them without any fuss and rarely smiled, “I’ll thank you properly when I get back.”
“Enough already, don’t always boss me around as if I owe you millions; just that will satisfy me. And don’t challenge me to a match again,” Luo Ziling grumbled discontentedly, “Beating a woman brings no honor, and losing would be a huge embarrassment for me.”
Phoenix didn’t answer but just smiled.
Like Lin Lan, Phoenix usually had a cold demeanor that kept people at a distance, but when she smiled, she could be quite cute and pretty.
Of course, “cute” wasn’t a word to describe Phoenix; this woman mustn’t be young. By Luo Ziling’s estimation, she had to be at least around thirty, maybe even older. Flirting with a woman of this age actually felt quite rewarding.
When Luo Ziling was with Lin Lan, thoughts of romance would cross his mind, but with Phoenix, such notions never occurred to him.
The reason, of course, was due to the age difference and her cold exterior.
After accepting Luo Ziling’s present, Phoenix didn’t say much and drove him back to school.
It was only when they were near the school that she spoke again, “If you want to marry Lin Lan, I can find a way to get her to change her profession.”
Without waiting for Luo Ziling’s response, she immediately drove off.
This comment left Luo Ziling dumbfounded, watching the Hummer disappear, he couldn’t help but laugh and cry, “A bunch of unreasonable, strange women.”
As he walked toward the school gate, Luo Ziling took out his phone, intending to send a message to Yang Qingyin, asking what she was up to.
But then he saw that Yang Qingyin had messaged him half an hour earlier, asking if he had returned to school, and if so, to get in touch with her.
Luo Ziling immediately gave her a call.
The call connected quickly, and Yang Qingyin’s soft voice came through the phone, “Junior, I’m with my mom; she wants to meet you.”
Immediately, Chen Qiaoyu’s voice came through, “Ziling, are you free tonight? Come and have dinner with Qingyin and me.”
Luo Ziling quickly agreed before asking in confusion, “Auntie, where shall we have dinner?”
“Come to my place; I’ll have Qingyin pick you up.”
Hearing Chen Qiaoyu’s mention of coming over to her house, Luo Ziling involuntarily shivered, almost dropping his phone.
