Chapter 678: Just Run Over Them All
Nobody else knew that the handful of top-notch fighters were already secretly butting heads with each other.
All the pressure that they cast onto Lu Xuan disappeared without a trace.
That fact alone caused all three of them to wear serious expressions.
It seemed obvious that they discovered something: while Old Monster Lu looked young, there was far more to him than meets the eye.
The rumors about Lu Xuan having taken down the two top-notch cultivators at the Divine Transformation Realm in the ranks of the Blood Wolf Pirate seemed to be more than just rumors at that moment.
At the very least, they realized that they probably would not be able to do anything to Lu Xuan by simply casting pressure on him.
“Is that all that you three are capable of?”
Lu Xuan smirked as he glanced at the three of them, seemingly dismissing them right before their eyes.
What Lu Xuan just said caused quite a stir below as well. Only then did they realize that Lu Xuan had clashed with all three of them.
A clash had occurred without any of them being aware of it.
At that moment, Great Ancestor Zhang glared at Lu Xuan and said, “Don’t you dare get too confident in yourself, Old Monster Lu!”
Lu Xuan retorted, “Oh, so now I’m the one being cocky here? All three of you leaned on me as soon as I got here. Tell me, then: who’s in the wrong here?”
The world typically relied on the law of the wild: the strong always preyed on the weak.
If he were to even budge from the previous attack, all three of them would have probably pounced on him like a hungry tiger attacking a goat.
In a croaked and somewhat cold voice, the leader of the Faith of the Holy Maiden said, “We haven’t even met, but I can already tell that your reputation precedes you. All we’re trying to do is see what you’re made of.”
Lu Xuan snickered, “You want to see what I’m made of, huh? I thought that you all already learned what I’m made of moments ago. Now, it’s my turn to see what you guys all are made of.”
Great Ancestor Xiedao shouted, “What insolence! Do you seriously think that we’re in the same league as that old man from the Blood Wolf Pirate?”
The way Great Ancestor Xiedao saw it, Lu Xuan was simply getting ahead of himself and thought himself to be invincible after crushing the Blood Wolf Pirate.
A smirk was seen on Lu Xuan’s face as he retorted further, “I admit that you’re all far more powerful than him. Even so, that’s all there is to it.”
Lu Xuan was able to sense that, in terms of combat prowess, the three supreme ones were far more powerful than the old man in the blood-red attire of the Blood Wolf Pirates. However, that was all they had.
“It looks like you’re biting off more than you could chew!”
Countless Divine Transformation Realm beings were now present. At that moment, they got angry and immediately burst with a terrifying aura. All of them then pounced onto Lu Xuan like a mountain coming down on him.
That aura was laid out in midair for all to see, unlike the towering yet formless pressure that they cast before. The terrifying aura was so dense that it could’ve almost be seen with the naked eye as it loomed all over Lu Xuan.
Over a dozen of those Great Ancestors made their moves. They were all related to those supreme ones in some way.
It was apparent that they were permitted to attack, allowing them to make a move as the situation demanded.
“The clash begins!”
Many who were half a step into the Divine Transformation Realm could see that the near-solid aura that one could’ve seen with the naked eye. The same went for those at the Divine Treasure Realm who hailed from the many clans.
Everyone knew that this was all to test Lu Xuan.
Nobody knew where Old Monster Lu came from, but he managed to cause quite a commotion as soon as he appeared. It was apparent that the veteran cultivators at the Divine Transformation Realm were irked by that.
Many of these people made their move, yet no one knew just how many were still keeping their hands to themselves.
“Sir Lu would be fine, right?”
Meanwhile, Xu Tianying continued to watch from afar along with the Xu Family. Xu Tianying became concerned at the sight of Lu Xuan, who was now airborne.
“He’ll be fine. Sir Lu is powerful. He should’ve been able to pass this test with ease.”
Xu Hongyi, the leader of the Xu family, locked his gaze at that figure in midair as he answered Xu Tianying’s question.
While he looked completely composed, it was but a fa?ade to mask his restlessness. Deep down, he was actually very concerned for Lu Xuan’s wellbeing.
Lu Xuan was the Xu family’s only hope, after all.
While Lu Xuan was not a Great Ancestor of the Xu Clan, he was still the only one willing to help them. He was also the only being at the Divine Transformation Realm who wasn’t out to obliterate their clan.
Lu Xuan’s presence alone greatly intimidated all the clans around, stopping them from bullying the Xu Clan.
If Lu Xuan were to fail or flee with his tail between his legs, that renown he earned by crushing the Blood Wolf Pirate would’ve probably crumbled in a single day.
Everyone knew what would’ve happened to losers of such altercations. During the days following when the main force of the Blood Wolf Pirate was crushed at Tianhai City, he knew that there had already been over 100 clans venturing out to the seas just to search for the pirates’ lair.
The Blood Wolf Pirate had gotten on the bad side of too many cultivation forces out there. The members of those forces were only keeping their hands to themselves because the pirates were simply too powerful. The Blood Wolf Pirate had such formidable beings being in charge of things, on top of being unbelievably cunning and brutal.
They kept their hands to themselves, unable to do anything. Despite that, those forces did not want to get rid of the pirates. Additionally, nobody knew just how much wealth had the pirates amassed throughout the years.
Many had their eyes on that wealth, so much so that even the Xu Clan had sent a fleet to search for the pirates’ lair out in the vast ocean.
Even the likes of the Blood Wolf Pirates that had been so feared by many suffered such a fate after their fall.
One could’ve only imagined what would’ve happened to a group like the Xu family in the same situation.
If Lu Xuan lost, there was no doubt that the Xu family would suffer.
Naturally, Xu Hongyi knew such a thing would happen. It was still something that Lu Xuan had to go through.
If a formidable one from some foreign land were to assert their presence in the local scene, the only way to do so was to blaze their own trail by making impressive achievements.
While killing the two leaders of the Blood Wolf Pirates enabled him to intimidate the average ones, that was hardly enough to intimidate the three titans.
They had yet to see what Lu Xuan was truly capable of.
However, the members of the Xu Clan had absolute confidence in Lu Xuan. The fight that occurred during that night had thoroughly impressed him, making him realize just how terrifyingly formidable that man that they called Sir Lu truly was. Furthermore, they still didn’t know where he came from.
Lu Xuan sensed a dozen or so auras looming over him, but he remained unfazed. He was fully ready to engage in combat.
That was what it meant to keep a low profile.
That was something that he did not need to concern himself with.
He had no need for discretion in the Holy Sun Continent. Since nothing could pose a true threat to him, he could do as he pleased.
The way he saw it, there was only one way to deal with the discontented locals out to test his mettle.
He would simply run them over.
A showcase of absolute power would’ve sufficed.
A terrifying aura instantly burst from Lu Xuan, shrouding him like a towering divine mountain as he conjured a terrifying cyclone around him.
The auras from the dozen or so Great Ancestors at the Divine Transformation Realm were shredded to nothing as soon as their aura touched his.
They were all already at a disadvantage as soon as the clash began.
Meanwhile, Lu Xuan’s aura began to seize the opportunity at the same time, splitting into over a dozen streams before simultaneously running over those Great Ancestors.
The terrifying altercation erupted right away. It took only a single moment for Lu Xuan to gain the upper hand and begin his counterattack.
