Just when the monster sent the energy sword away, the creature felt a sharp pain on its wing. The beast immediately opened its mouth to use Thunder Beam, but then Jake pulled his sword down while the dark flames were rotating around the Blade… The result: half of the wing was cut.
"HYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" The boss screamed from the deaths of its soul.
Jake landed on the ground while the monster was screaming, but he soon jumped toward the enemy again. He went for the head this time, and the beast used Thunder Beam directly. By using Thunder Slash multiple times and his dark flames, Jake managed to repel the attack and reach the beast's face. While the Blade of his sword was enchanted with the dark flames, Jake used Cyclone Strike time and time again. He cut the monster's face and destroyed its eyes as well… He spun so many times that he couldn't tell if he hit anything at some point.
When Jake finally began to fall, the monster kept screaming in pain and used Thunder Spears around, trying to hit him even when the beast couldn't see Jake. One or two attacks hit him, but not nearly enough to kill Jake.
He planned to attack the neck of the beast next, but the monster forgot its own trap and tried to fly away from Jake. In the end, the Thunder Spears attacked the boss in full force. The beast didn't suffer much damage, but it got paralyzed. Jake used that chance to approach, and when he could, he launched himself toward the head of the monster.
Despite the situation, the monster wasn't a goner, so when Jake approached, the beast opened its mouth to bite his head. In the split of a second, Jake threw his sword at the monster's mouth while it was covered in dark flames. This time, the creature got paralyzed for good since the sword, and the dark flames pierced the interior of its mouth.
Without his weapon, Jake collided against the head of the monster and he kicked the monster's forehead with all his might. Both of them began to fall, and Jake used the creature to protect himself from the thunder spears below. In the end, the monster fell and received all the damage its trap could cause, but it wasn't enough to kill it due to its own nature… Jake clicked his tongue and then looked at both of his hands. He enhanced them with the dark flames and then began to punch the monster's skull. It didn't take long for Jake to damage the brain and kill the beast.

"Not bad, not bad at all…" Jake said.
Jake would get considerably stronger with that bloodline, so he couldn't have asked for more. Considering the set of skills, he was going to get considerably harder to kill, but he couldn't relax, considering how the strength of the bosses was escalating. To make good use of that, he should find a way to level up those skills faster. In any case, the mission was over, and he was teleported back home.

"Hmm… the boss was hard to deal with, but I guess because of the grinding, things didn't get out of hand like before," Jake thought. "I suppose I should take a day off tomorrow to sell the loot that I got. It will be hard to do that when I am eager to level up those skills... training in this world is no longer than useful to me as well. I guess the idea of staying in a single place will have to be discarded."
Jake followed his routine of gathering the herbs and then making more potions. The crystal wolves helped him with the gathering, so things ended quickly. The sun began to set quite soon, so Jake started his potions inside. The wolves like the cold, so they could stay there.
Although Jake had planned to work until late in the night, he fell asleep much sooner than expected. He had forgotten that he had stayed away for three days straight, so it was only natural that he would be exhausted. Jake even slept until late in the morning, and he only woke up when a noisy bunch showed up at his door.
"What do you want now…" Jake said while scratching the back of his head.
"Woah, you look a lot worse than before… like a worker that has to work eighty hours a week," Lana said.
"If you aren't going to state your business, I am going to close the door," Jake said.
"We rushed here and even worked hard for a week to catch up to you… your guts are almost refreshing," Lana said.
In the end, Lana and Louise explained what happened and what they had learned. Most things made sense, but Jake still felt that Frederick was hiding something.
