VILE EVIL HIDES UNDER THE VEIL
Chapter 1926: The Unleashed Elder Seed Sea MonsterChapter 1926: The Unleashed Elder Seed Sea Monster
The glowing mana circle flickered and died, and the remaining two Templars staggered as their combined power plummeted.
Their synchronized attacks fell apart, their flames losing intensity.
Naya breathed heavily, her body aching but her spirit soaring. She had done it. She also stepped out of her Battle Trance for the most part.
She had a lot of questions related to the mysterious state she had just been in. She also felt like she needed to meditate to comprehend the things she had newly learned due to that mysterious state. Explore more stories with My Virtual Library Empire
But all those things could wait.
She stepped forward, ready to end the last two Templars. But then—
A sudden, uncontrollable force surged through her body. Her mana churned violently. Her soul space trembled. Even the space around her constricted and the surrounding mana was agitated.
Naya's eyes widened in shock.
'No! Not now,' she cursed with a pale face and horrified expressions.
She recognized this feeling—the moment of S-Rank ascension. Furthermore, it was an ascension of a demon beast, which made things even more difficult for her.
After years of being stuck at the late stage of A-Rank, she had finally broken through her bottleneck. But it was happening now, in the middle of a battlefield.
Her body began to glow with pure, overwhelming mana. The air around her trembled, and the sea rippled unnaturally beneath her feet.
She was really ascending to S-Rank.
"Damn it… how? How did this happen?"
The young demoness cursed, panic gripping her. She had heard that Eren had once managed to break into the Master Rank using Battle Trance in the middle of a fight. The butcher had even shared his experiences with her in the past.
But she knew she was no Eren. She couldn't do what he did. Especially when it came to an S-Rank breakthrough.
This was really not the right place. An S-Rank ascension required preparation, safety measures, and a controlled environment. Not here—not while enemies still stood before her, not while the main battlefield raged nearby.
Furthermore, she was a demon beast. That made things far worse for her.
First, she was not from Labh Salem but Anfang. Second, even her soul was demonic and carried traces of Faustian Contracts, making her independent of the reincarnation cycles set by Labh Salem.
Because of this, she was certain to attract the ire of Labh Salem's World Will. It was like trespassing into someone's territory and using its resources for personal benefits. No World Will of any world would be benevolent enough to support such rootless foreigners serving their own interests.
Naya had heard that Eren's previous demon beast, Argo, had nearly died when it was his time to ascend to S-Rank back in Anfang. It was only because Demon Prince Beelzebub had supported his avatar that Argo managed to survive the process. And that was even with the home-ground advantage of being born in Anfang.
Of course, Naya could have lessened the burden of her eventual ascension if she had stayed in Labh Salem longer. But all her plans for a safe breakthrough were now shattered.
The two remaining Templars, weakened but still standing, stared at her with a mix of fear and realization.
Naya clenched her fists, struggling to suppress the breakthrough. But it was too late.
The process had begun.
At the same time, the two Raashim Templars watched in horror as Naya's power began to surge. The air around her shimmered with an overwhelming force.
The sea churned beneath her, waves rising unnaturally as if pulled by an unseen force. Ice spread from her feet, creeping over the water's surface, freezing the very air.
Their fear turned to terror when they realized what was happening.
"She's… she's about to ascend," one of them whispered, her voice shaking.
For a moment, they hesitated. An S-Rank demon beast was a nightmare. If Naya completed her breakthrough, they wouldn't stand a chance no matter how many trump cards they had in their sleeves given to them by the temple.
Then, their eyes met. Understanding passed between them.
This wasn't a disaster. This was an opportunity.
Without wasting another second, they both reached into their Menaka's Space and pulled out small vials filled with a shimmering golden liquid. Without hesitation, they uncorked the potions and drank them in a single gulp.
The effects were instant. A surge of power rushed through their veins, numbing the pain of their wounds. Their muscles tightened, and their magic flared. The potions came with severe side effects, but that didn't matter.
It seemed that it was not only Eren's forces that had come prepared using potions and artifacts. The temple's rich heritage had enabled its followers to put up a good fight no matter their opponents.
If they failed here, they would die anyway.
The two Templars acted fast. Each of them pulled out an Array Disk and activated it. A hum of power vibrated through the air as a new Battle Formation took shape.
A whirlwind of glowing wind-element ropes erupted from the formation, twisting through the air like living snakes. They shot toward Naya, wrapping tightly around her limbs, locking her in place.
Naya's eyes snapped open, her trance disturbed by the sudden restriction. She tried to move, but the ropes held strong.
"Damn it!" she hissed, her voice filled with frustration. The power of her ascension raged within her, but her body was bound.
The two Templars wasted no time. They dived into the sea, dragging Naya down with them. The frozen surface shattered as they plunged into the depths, pulling her deeper and deeper.
The water felt heavy at this point. It was as if they were diving through liquified metal. However, they didn't stop.
Naya struggled, but the ropes refused to break. It also didn't help that her head was muddled and her body was in agony for some reason.
The two Templars knew they couldn't defeat Naya. But they didn't have to.
They only needed to bring her to someone who could.
There was one being on this battlefield who could handle a perfect-stage A-Ranked demon beast on the verge of ascension.
Azurea, one of the twin dragonesses, was already an S-Rank.
She was deep underwater, reinforcing the seal on the ancient sea monster trapped beneath the waves. She had taken every precaution against Eren's forces, ensuring that none of them could reach her.
But she never expected someone from her own side to come looking for her.
Due to the nature of the seal, even Raashim's followers were unaware of what Azurea was doing. Because of this, the two Templars didn't think twice before deciding to borrow Azurea's might to get rid of Naya.
And now, whether she liked it or not, the dragoness was about to receive an unexpected guest—right at the crucial moment when she was on the verge of stabilizing the seal.
In the end, this reckless decision became the very reason the sea monster finally broke free from its shackles…And returned to the waters of Labh Salem once more.
What Eren and the others didn't know at this point was that this sea monster was also an inheritor of Elder Ichor, possessing an Elder Seed Artifact.
However, because he had forcefully merged with the Elder Seed, it had turned him into an uncontrollable force of nature.
