VILE EVIL HIDES UNDER THE VEIL
Chapter 1930: A Slumbering Spirit Bloodline?Chapter 1930: A Slumbering Spirit Bloodline?
Marina had taken over a thousand years to achieve her current status as a young adult dragoness.
Azurea, on the other hand, had reached her sister's level and achieved her S-Rank breakthrough in just over 200 years.
This was absolutely insane even by the dragon standards, not just in Labh Salem but across multiple worlds.
By draconic standards, Azurea was still a child. If Marina was considered a teenager among dragons, then Azurea was a mere nursery kid who had managed to match a teenager's level simply by capitalizing on her natural talents. In reality, she didn't even have to rely on precious resources to achieve her level.
Azurea wasn't someone who liked to brag about her talents. However, she had genuinely never seen anyone younger AND more gifted in the lightning element than herself. Forget about humans, she had never come across any dragon of her own generation who was more talented than her.
Of course, she knew that her dragon father was far more adept at handling the lightning element than both her and Eren combined. However, that didn't count—her father had a significant advantage simply due to the vast number of years he had lived as well as his beyond-S-Rank powers.
This was why Azurea was so surprised by Eren's mastery over lightning. If he were given even half the time her father had to grow, she had no doubt that he would surpass him.
This wasn't easily digestible news for any proud dragonkind member. A human being that had more potential for growth than a dragon? When was such a creature created by the boundless cosmos?
First of all, was Eren even human? Azurea could only come up with a 'no' as an answer. She felt like she would really become mad for some reason if Eren had human origins as it would make her feel like she was nothing in front of him despite the fact that he was a Rank behind her.
Eren's multifaceted elemental mastery made him a versatile combatant—his red, purple, and blue lightning combined the principles of destruction, speed, and incineration, making him an unpredictable and devastating force on the battlefield.
But Azurea's single-minded pursuit of absolute control made her a different kind of monster entirely. She didn't need variety—she had unfathomable mastery.
However, as she stared at Eren's protective lightning barrier around Naya, for the first time in a long time, she felt something unfamiliar—doubt.
Could there truly be another path beyond absolute control? One that didn't just dominate, but incorporated multiple facets of lightning's true nature?
For the first time, Azurea wondered… was her mastery truly supreme, or had she simply caged herself within her own storm?

All of Azurea's thoughts took only a few seconds for her to process. She snapped out of her reverie quickly while maintaining a dignified expression.
'What am I thinking about at this point…? This brat… He is an enemy. No matter how talented or diligent he is, I shouldn't admire him. Especially now, when that pain-in-the-ass is about to resurface,' Azurea admonished herself in her head before turning around.
Her eyes landed on Naya's savior—the one who had mastered distinct Aspects of lightning. She was surprised by how young and charming this Young Demon Emperor was. How could someone so flimsy and inexperienced control various elements as if he had lived multiple lifetimes?
Eren was even younger than Azurea who was considered a monstrous prodigy even by the dragons' standards. If even a dragon prodigy couldn't stand on equal footing with Eren in terms of pure talent, who else acoss boundless cosmos could?
'This… this is not talent. He is not naturally talented. I think there's something wrong with his soul… he has an unawakened Spirit bloodline that makes him poorly talented in controlling Elements but he has somehow overcome the disadvantages of his slumbering Spirit bloodline using other means.
There's definitely some trick involved. Something that has to do with his demonic heritage. But that's not all…
No amount of demonic advantage would be enough for him to achieve this much success in his Elemental Attainments considering the nature of his Spirit bloodline.
He… he has also worked hard! It's his efforts that made him who he is now.'
One careful look at Eren was enough for Azurea to make various conjectures about him. As someone with some special natural talents, she was very good at deducing various things about her allies and opponents right after meeting them in a close setting.
What shook her even more was the sight of her sister, Marina, standing behind him with her head down.
It was as if he had subdued her and brought her here against her will.
No. Rather, Marina had come of her own volition to see how Eren would handle the mess he had created across Raashim Temple's territory.
The elder dragoness was simply hesitant to face her younger sister at this moment.
It was as if she had committed to something with Eren—something a bit too embarrassing for her to discuss with Azurea.
Azurea narrowed her eyes at Marina before asking in a concerned voice, "Sis? Wh–What are you doing with him? Has he done something to you?"
She considered various possibilities as she studied Marina's conflicted expression. Azurea was certain that Eren couldn't have defeated her sister in a fair fight.
As mysterious and skilled with the elements as he was, he was still a Grandmaster Ranker at the late stage of A-Rank. Marina, on the other hand, was a genuine dragon—an S-Rank being.
The chasm between A-Rank and S-Rank was so vast that no amount of talent or trump cards could bridge it. At least that was what was considered as a known fact accepted by all mana practitioners no matter their paths or attainments.
Thus, Azurea concluded that Eren must have somehow deceived Marina. She didn't appear to be physically harmed, but the fact that Eren had brought her here—right when the sea monster was about to break free—made it clear that his intentions were far from pure.
Eren smiled before answering in Marina's place. "Your sister is fine. But let's set that aside and forget about our little differences, shall we? After all, we have bigger fish to fry."
He gestured behind Azurea, where a massive barrier dome, covered in runes that slithered across its surface like serpents, was on the verge of shattering.
As if to emphasize Eren's point, the sea monster let out another deafening roar, its escape now inevitable.
