VILLAIN MMORPG: ALMIGHTY DEVIL EMPEROR AND HIS SEVEN DEMONIC WIVES
Chapter 1032 - 1032: One SidedVillain Ch 1032. One Sided
Vivian nodded in agreement, her brows furrowed. “Yeah, she always seemed so… entitled,” she added, her tone sharper than usual. “Like she expected everything to be perfect all the time. It’s no wonder you felt pressured.”
Jane crossed her arms, her expression turning thoughtful but still tinged with annoyance. “She clearly didn’t know what she had.” she said, scoffing.
Allen tried to hold back his cringe, glancing around the table at the girls’ faces. They looked angrier than he felt, which was saying something. ‘Why are they angrier than me?’ he thought, a bit baffled by their reactions. He had moved on from Sophia. But the girls seemed ready to launch into a full-blown vendetta against her.
Emma, picking up on the vibe, jumped in with her own opinion. “Seriously, Allen, you deserve someone who appreciates you for who you are, not for what you can do for them. Sophia didn’t deserve you.”
Allen sighed, leaning back in his chair, feeling the weight of the conversation. “I know. But that’s all in the past now,” he said, his voice steady but tinged with a hint of regret. “I was naive. I thought she was the one for me. I mean, she showed that she cared, or at least I believed she did.”
Jane leaned forward, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Thinking back, you’ve only ever told us about how she betrayed you. But you’ve never really explained why you did so much for her in the first place,” she said, her tone gentle but probing. “Why did you feel like you had to prove something to her? Why did you stick with her for so long?”
The other girls nodded in agreement, clearly wanting to understand more. They had heard bits and pieces of Allen’s past, but this was the first time he was opening up about the deeper reasons.
Allen hesitated for a moment as if gathering his thoughts. Then he began to explain. “I guess it all goes back to my mom and stepdad,” he said slowly. “They didn’t care much about me when I was younger. I was… ignored, mostly. I felt unloved like I didn’t matter to anyone.
It left this… hole in my heart, I guess.”
The room grew quiet as the girls listened, their expressions softening. Even though they had teased him earlier, they could now sense the deeper pain in his words.
“I met Sophia when I was in university,” Allen continued. “Back then, I was a different person. Angry, rebellious… a bad guy, I guess.” He gave a small, self-deprecating laugh. “I had all this anger from my past, and I didn’t know what to do with it. Sophia was… the first person who came into my life and showed me she cared. Or at least, that’s how it seemed.”
Vivian frowned, leaning closer. “How did she show you that?” she asked gently.
Allen looked down at his hands, as if remembering those early days. “At first, I didn’t like her,” he admitted. “I acted like I didn’t care. I was still filled with all that anger. But she was always there, like a healer in Hell’s Gate, you know? Like in a game, when you’re wounded and the healer shows up just in time to save you.
She was always there when I needed help, support, or just someone to talk to.”
Zoe nodded, her expression thoughtful. “So she gave you comfort when no one else did?”
“Exactly,” Allen said, glancing at her. “At the time, I didn’t have anywhere else to go. My family was distant, and I didn’t trust people easily. But Sophia was different. She stayed, even when I pushed her away. She made me feel like I mattered.
That’s why I gave her a chance. I thought she’d be the one who could heal me. And after all her effort… I felt like I owed her something. Like I should show my effort too.”
Shea tilted her head, her brow furrowing in concern. “That’s a lot of weight to carry in a relationship, though,” she said softly. “Did you ever feel like it was one-sided?”
Allen sighed. “Looking back, yeah. But at the time, I didn’t see it. I thought it was normal, that relationships were about giving and proving yourself. So I did everything I could for her—cooking, helping her with things, thinking about our future, being there for her… But eventually, it became clear that no matter how much I did, it wasn’t enough for her.”
Azura’s voice was soft, hesitant. “And that’s when she… betrayed you?”
Allen’s jaw tightened slightly. “Yeah. She cheated on me. After everything, after all the time and energy I put into that relationship, she threw it all away for some. I even didn’t know him or how she could know him. Apparently, he was more exciting, or… I don’t know.
Maybe I wasn’t good enough for her anymore.”
The girls exchanged glances, each of them clearly upset on Allen’s behalf. Vivian’s frown deepened. “That’s awful,” she said, her voice full of sympathy. “You didn’t deserve that, Allen.”
Jane looked thoughtful for a moment, then spoke up. “It sounds like she took advantage of the fact that you were vulnerable,” she said gently. “Like she knew you needed someone, and she used that to get what she wanted.”
Allen shrugged, a bitter smile crossing his lips. “Maybe. Or maybe I was just blind to who she really was. I don’t know.”
Emma, who had been quiet for a moment, suddenly spoke up again, her voice full of frustration. “Well, it’s her loss,” she said firmly. “You’ve come so far since then. You’ve grown into someone who deserves way better.”
The girls nodded in agreement. They could all see how much he had been through and how much stronger he was now because of it.
Allen smiled softly, grateful for their understanding. “Thanks, guys,” he said quietly. “I’ve learned a lot from that relationship, but it was a tough time. I didn’t know who I could trust after that. It took a while to get back on my feet.”
Shea smiled gently. “Well, you’re with us now. And we won’t let you down.”
Azura grinned, reaching over to give Allen a playful nudge. “Yeah, you’ve got a whole team of people who’ve got your back. And we all know how to appreciate a good omelet.”
