Chapter 2704 High Handed Methods Of Yannan
The people of the sect watched as the High Elder flew out from the Tribulation Platform and headed toward the elders and the Patriarch, who stood some distance away.
"Patriarch," High Elder Yannan greeted lightly.
His greeting would certainly not be satisfactory in most circumstances, considering his status, but the Patriarch couldn't find fault with it now.
After all, the High Elder was now also a Seventh Tribulation Stage Immortal, just like him.
"Congratulations on your breakthrough. It seems the River Bending Axe Sect will now have four Seventh Tribulation Immortals from today," the Patriarch said, feeling mixed emotions.
While he was certainly displeased by the High Elder's attitude, he couldn't help but also feel somewhat pleased by his breakthrough. After all, it meant that their sect had grown stronger once more.
And it could not have come at a better time when they needed more manpower.
"I learned that you need me to hunt down some mutt?" High Elder Yannan asked.
"That mutt you're talking about killed our disciples and harmed our elder," another High Elder spoke up.
"That doesn't mean he's anything but a mutt." High Elder Yannan scoffed.
The other High Elder frowned but did not respond.
"Enough… This is not the time or place for arguments," the Patriarch stated. "But yes, you are to find him."
"Then I shall do that," High Elder Yannan replied. "It's time for me to get some exercise," he added with a smile.
"Please see to it… I don't want any more obstacles," the Patriarch said.
"Of course… I'll handle it my own way," the High Elder said before quickly departing without a farewell.
"Tch~ Yannan will never change," the First High Elder muttered.
"He'll only grow more brazen from now on," the other High Elders said, shaking their heads.
The High Elder flew toward the Intelligence Division of the sect and went straight to the High Elder in charge. This was the Sixth High Elder, who had not been present at the tribulation platform due to how busy he was, along with the other members of the division.
BANG!
The door to the Sixth High Elder's office was smacked open as High Elder Yannan strutted in.
"Who!?" The Sixth High Elder was shocked at the insolence before he finally saw who it was. "High Elder Yannan…" His anger died down instantly.
"I didn't think you'd come so quickly." He was well aware of who had been assigned to the task of hunting down Lin Mu.
"You think I'd waste time like your people?" High Elder Yannan said without any respect.
"…" The Sixth High Elder knew retorting would only result in an hour-long argument, so he simply kept silent.
"Give me all the information about this Lin Mu that you've gathered so far," he ordered.
Sigh.
"From what we've learned so far, Lin Mu suddenly appeared last month and got into a conflict with Inner Disciple Chijin Ou. Here's the detailed report," the Sixth Elder said, extending a jade slip toward the old man.
High Elder Yannan quickly scanned through it, and a thoughtful expression appeared on his face.
"He's not from this city…" High Elder Yannan muttered.
"Yeah. We first thought he might be from another city, but just today we learned that's not the case either," the Sixth High Elder replied.
"What did you find?" High Elder Yannan asked.
"In order to cover all sides, we also inquired about any new arrivals at the Cross World Teleportation Array. That was where we got our hit… Lin Mu had arrived there," the Sixth High Elder replied.
"So he's from another world… Makes sense why there was no information about such a dog," High Elder Yannan said. "So, where is he from?" he asked.
"We don't know," the Sixth High Elder replied.
"How's that possible? You got the logs, right?" High Elder Yannan asked with a frown.
"We did, but they only show that he arrived there. The information about where he came from is protected," the Sixth High Elder replied.
"Protected?" High Elder Yannan furrowed his brows. "That only happens for certain individuals, such as those from the Immortal Court or major powers."
"Indeed. But we're sure that he's not from the Immortal Court. If he was, he would have long since revealed that or at least visited the office of the City Lord," the Sixth High Elder stated. "All Immortal Court members visit him, as there is no designated office for the Immortal Court in the city or anywhere in the region."
"As long as he's not from the Immortal Court, it won't be a problem for us," High Elder Yannan said. "Since we can't find any information about him here, we'll look for it elsewhere."
"Where?" the Sixth High Elder asked.
"Contact the brokers from other worlds. All those that have direct connections to the Jui World. They will certainly have information about an individual like this who can cause so much trouble," High Elder Yannan replied.
"That won't be cheap…" the Sixth High Elder noted.
"You think I care about that? Do it," High Elder Yannan ordered. "I'm going to take a look myself and try some alternatives."
"What?" the Sixth High Elder asked.
"Since he protected the people in the city, it seems like he has a righteous heart. We just need to round up all those who have come into contact with him," High Elder Yannan replied. "He's bound to turn up once we have enough of them."
"And if he doesn't?" the Sixth High Elder asked, his expression darkening. "You do know this won't reflect well on us if we start kidnapping people from the city?"
"Has the sect fallen so low that we care about some peasants?" High Elder Yannan laughed. "Do it. I'll handle it myself," he ordered.
"Very well…" The Sixth High Elder knew he had no other choice.
Having said that, High Elder Yannan gathered a few more reports before flying out of the sect and heading to Ram Orchard City.
Lin Mu had no idea about the crazy man who was now hunting him.
