'Dead!'
A whatsapp message instantly made Ellena widen. She quickly threw her phone on the bed.
After these few days, she was frequently contacted by unknown people who were always terrorizing him. This time, it was the first time she had received such a message and it was enough to make her tremble in fear.
She did not know exactly who did it, which was clear after her last meeting with Selena. Ah, looks like she was wrong for challenging that woman.
Walking back and forth incoherently, with her left hand on her hips, while her right hand holds the corners of her lips. She was frustrated. However, she didn't dare to reveal all her unease to Lucas. Until the sound of the door opening made her reflexively look back and stop moving her feet.
"Honey, what are you doing?" Lucas seemed to be standing by the door, staring in surprise at Ellena.
Yes, Lucas had caught Ellena pacing back and forth. It certainly made him confused and wanted to know what was making his woman so restless.
"Lu-Lucas?" Ellena gasped and was a little nervous. "Hm... i-I—"
"Is something bothering you?" Lucas asked as he approached Ellena with a questioning look.
"N-nothing, Lucas." Ellena replied, still looking nervous, even her lips trembled slightly which made Lucas even more suspicious and convinced that something was bothering his wife.
Lucas smiled, just to make Ellena feel calm. He grabbed her cheek, then stared intensely at the two brown beads in front of him. "Never lie to me. If something bothers you, tell me. We are husband and wife, right? We face any problem together." Lucas whispered, which managed to make Ellena's heart touched.
"I-I'm fine, Lucas. I'm just thinking about Martin who will soon be leaving abroad. I'm worried about him, Lucas." Ellena answered simply.
Yes, it just so happened that she had another reason to be the target of her lies. Martin had indeed received the announcement of the passing of the results of the prospective new student selection exam at Harvard University and coincidentally Martin was one of those who passed the exam. Ellena was worried about that, but that wasn't the real reason right now.
Lucas smiled as if he believed his wife's words, even though he didn't. These few days Ellena's attitude was very suspicious. Ellena, who often daydreams and sometimes doesn't respond to his words, makes Lucas believe that something is shaking his wife's heart and mind. However, he didn't know exactly what the problem was.
The person assigned to investigate Selena still hasn't made any progress that makes him feel satisfied. In fact, there is nothing suspicious about the movements of Selena and Michelle, based on the latest news he got from his two confidants, Stuart and Jeff Smith.
Lucas pulled Ellena, bringing the tiny body into his arms. "Don't worry too much about him. He went there for school, you should support him." Lucas whispered, trying to keep up with Ellena's attitude.
He gave a gentle caress on Ellena's back. It was all he could do to make Ellena a little more calm. If Ellena could be more sensitive and willing to tell him all these problems, maybe he wouldn't be confused about what to do. Because anything that concerns his wife, will definitely be a priority for him.
'I don't know what's bothering you like this, Honey. But I won't let anyone bother and hurt you. Wait, I'll solve your problem right away!' Lucas muttered in the middle of his arms.
"Would you like to have dinner out with me?" Lucas asked with a smile and looked into his wife's face, after he stretched their arms.
However, there was no answer from Ellena. The woman was silent as she looked at Lucas' face full of anxiety.
"We've been so busy with work that we don't have time to go out together." Lucas reminded.
"You don't want to?" Lucas asked again, while Ellena was still silent.
"Okay, I will." Ellena answered quietly, though she was too lazy to say yes.
"Now, take a shower!" Lucas asked while flashing his trademark smile.
Receiving such treatment from her husband, Ellena began to be able to neutralize her feelings again. She could be more calm, although not completely able to get rid of the anxiety in her.
"Okay, I'll take a shower first." Ellena softly heeded Lucas' request, before she finally headed for the bathroom.
Ellena took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. Instantly the eyes closed, recalling every word that was heard directly from the mouth of the terrorizer. Ah, she really can't live in peace. All her thoughts are now controlled by the terror. All the words and words of the terrorists seemed to continue to scream deafeningly.
In her mind, she wanted to avenge the terrorizer. However, it was impossible for her to do so, given that he still wanted to live, so she shouldn't act rashly.
She couldn't imagine what would happen if she told Lucas. Maybe her life would end right then and there. Remembering the terrorist who had threatened her not to tell Lucas.
The terrorist only asked for a certain amount of money which she certainly couldn't accept, considering that the money she was holding belonged to Lucas. Exactly as Selena said that time. Ah, she was increasingly convinced that the person who terrorized her was an order from Selena.
The pointed nose immediately inhaled deeply the smell of soap that wafted through the room. Soaking in warm water, in fact, is enough to relax her body. Although not as perfect as imagined, at least she was quite comfortable with the activity.
"I don't know what I've done. Whether it's right or wrong, I also have reasons why I didn't tell Lucas all my problems. I'm sorry, Lucas, for making you worry. I promise to take good care of myself, even without supervision from you." Ellena whispered in the midst of her activities while staring blankly in any direction.
Ellena submerged her entire body into the water, only for a moment. She then raised her head again when she felt that could no longer breathe in there.
After a while, she got up from the bathtub and reached for the bathrobe hanging on the wall. Don't come out right away. Ellena looked first at the reflection of her frying pan which still showed a mess, at the mirror that stretched over the sink.
"Honey, you're still not done?"
Lucas' call from outside the bathroom immediately made Ellena gasp and stop her daydreaming. It seemed that she had been in the bath for too long, which made Lucas a little worried.
"That's it, Lucas. Wait a minute I'll be out soon!" Ellena shouted in response to Lucas' call.
"Hurry up! I'm ready and waiting for you." Lucas replied again.
Ellena swiftly opened the bathroom door and found Lucas who was already neatly dressed in a light gray shirt that was matched with pants of the same color, only the color of his pants was a little darker than his shirt.
***
In front of a fancy five-star restaurant, Lucas stopped his car. He immediately got down and opened the car door for his wife.
The long legs looked down from the car. Red high heels seemed to beautify her smooth white legs without the slightest flaw. Meanwhile, the knee-length dress is black, showing Ellena's graceful figure. She positioned herself beside Lucas, before they finally walked into the restaurant.
They walked side by side, slowly and surely. Ellena's hand seemed to hold her husband's arm without hesitation and embarrassment from being seen by many people. It was the first time she had behaved like that in public. After always trying to act normal, this time they looked very affectionate.
Smiles did not stop growing on both of their faces. Along the way, they continued to spread that smile as if they deliberately wanted to spread happiness to anyone who saw it.
Until right at a table in the right corner, their steps stopped. Lucas pulled up a chair, motioning for his wife to sit down. Ah, tonight Lucas treats Ellena like a princess.
They were now sitting opposite each other at a table far enough from the crowd.
"Honey, what do you want to eat?" Lucas asked, staring intently at his wife's face.
"Steak Salad." Ellena replied curtly.
Lucas immediately called the waiter at the restaurant and ordered two different kinds of food and drinks.
With the dinner activity, at least Ellena could forget for a moment the things that had been bothering her for the past few days. All of that really frustrates her. How could it not be, if she just kept all the problems to herself without wanting to share them with anyone, including her husband.
Ellena's gaze immediately circulated in several directions, right and left, witnessing the atmosphere of the restaurant which was so crowded with visitors. I don't know why Lucas suddenly asked her to eat out like that.
"Are you happy?" Lucas' question immediately caught Ellena's attention.
The woman refocused her gaze forward, staring straight at her husband's face. "Yes." She replied, forcing a smile.
"We can do this every night, if you like this." Lucas said with a small smile.
"You're exaggerating, Lucas. How can I do this every night." Ellena said with a chuckle.
"Why? Isn't this fun, Honey?" Lucas looked at his wife in surprise.
"Yeah, but I'd rather spend time with you at home." Ellena replied casually which managed to make Lucas smile. Didn't think his wife would answer like that.
Ellena turned her gaze in another direction, and suddenly she was wide-eyed when she found two familiar figures sitting on a chair quite far from her seat. Ellena's gaze focused on them for a moment, until without realizing it had caught the attention of Lucas who was also staring in the same direction.
Like Ellena, Lucas was surprised by a pair of familiar figures having dinner together while chatting happily.. He then glanced at Ellena for a moment, before finally publishing a triumphant grin on his face.
