"Where are you going?"

Ellena stopped her feet right in the doorway of the room where she was being treated, when she found Lucas who was just about to enter the room.

"Lucas, are you back?" Ellena seemed to be holding the doorknob of the room while a little stunned looking at the figure of the man who was towering in front of her.

"Why? You seem to miss me a lot, even though I've only been away for a few minutes." Lucas said with a seductive smile.

Getting that treatment from Lucas, Ellena just pursed her lips while looking away for a moment. She then looked back at Lucas.

"You didn't meet Martin?" Ellena looked at Lucas questioningly. She deliberately diverts the conversation because she doesn't want to overreact to her husband's jokes.

Ellena's initial goal was to get out of her infirmary because she wanted to catch up with Martin. Martin's decision to immediately meet Lucas made her feel worried about her younger brother's fate.

She knew very well how stubborn Martin and Lucas were irresistible. If they met in the heat of the moment, there was a high possibility of war between them and she didn't want to see that. That was the reason why she wanted so badly to catch up with Martin. However, her plan failed when it was Lucas who was already in front of her.

Unbeknownst to her, it turned out that her guess was wrong. In reality, Lucas could face her younger brother with a cool head and act more mature. Maybe she wouldn't believe it, if she knew all that.

Lucas thought for a moment, before he finally responded to Ellena's question. "No!" He answered firmly, shaking his head.

"Are you sure?" Ellena looked seriously at Lucas' face as if she wanted to confirm the truth of Lucas' answer.

"Sure." Lucas said flatly.

I don't know why Lucas chose to lie to his wife, even though he clearly just met and talked a lot with his brother-in-law.

"Then where is he?" asked Ellena thoughtfully and a little worried about Martin's current state. 'Is he really still looking for Lucas.' She thought then.

Lucas just shrugged, still feigning ignorance. "Do you need him?" He asked, furrowing his brow.

"Hmm?" Ellena gasped as she was still lost in thought about her younger brother's whereabouts right now. "Oh, n-no. I just forgot to tell him not to go far from mom's room." She later evaded.

Lucas seemed to be nodding his head repeatedly as if he simply believed Ellena's words, even though he was sure that something else was bothering his wife.

"Maybe he's gone back to mom's room, it's just that we didn't meet when I was coming here. Maybe he went somewhere else first." Lucas said deliberately trying to distract Ellena. He did not want his wife to think too much about other things that could make her health decline again.

"Yeah, maybe you're right." Ellena whispered, not wanting to prolong it, even though she was actually still curious about Martin, who previously said he would meet Lucas and talk about her relationship with her husband.

"Come on, come in! Today, you must rest completely, don't do too many activities that can make your body tired!" Lucas said as he grabbed both of Ellena's arms, then turned the woman around and pushed her into the room very slowly.

Meanwhile, from a distance, Martin seemed to be watching the activities of the two of them. Every now and then he pursed his lips while grumbling because he didn't like to see Lucas's attitude full of pretense in front of his sister.

"Hypocritical!" He cursed softly, before he left the place, just as Lucas closed the wooden door with the number 167 hanging on it.

"Lucas, but I want to see Mom's condition." Ellena protested as she looked back at Lucas who was still trying to push her body.

"Later, when your condition has improved. Besides, there is Mommy over there, so you won't be able to come in." Lucas replied, not caring about his wife's request.

"Never mind, you just rest here. Don't argue too much!" Lucas said firmly as he sat Ellena's body on the gurney.

Ellena could only surrender to her husband's request, because it was useless to argue with Lucas who never received any rejection.

"Lucas, I forgot to ask." Ellena whispered when Lucas was covering her legs with the white blanket.

Lucas looked up, after he had finished his activities. "What?" He asked flatly, but was a little curious.

"Is your stomach healed?" Ellena looked sadly at Lucas' face. Although Lucas looks fine today, yesterday's incident made her feel worried about her husband's current health condition.

Lucas didn't answer Ellena's question right away. I don't know what made him look so confused. What is clear, it managed to make Ellena even more worried about Lucas' condition.

"As you can see, Elle. I'm fine. I told you I just had a normal stomachache. Didn't I look fine since last night?" Lucas answered at length. Yes, of course he didn't want to see Ellena worry too much about his health right now.

"Thanks, God. I'm just afraid you're okay." Ellena smiled at Lucas while expressing her concern to her husband without feeling the slightest awkwardness.

"I'm glad you're worried about me like that." Lucas said with a smile on his face, then slightly cocked an eye as if he wanted to tease his wife on purpose. It suddenly made Ellena perfectly rounded.

"N-nothing like that. I just feel guilty for taking you out to eat at that place." Ellena looked embarrassed. She quickly lowered her head because she didn't want to look at Lucas with a face that was already as red as a boiled crab.

Lucas took a deep breath, then let it out slowly. "I told you, just think about your health, don't worry too much about others, moreover worry about me!"

"Who's worried about you. I told you I just felt guilty. Didn't you hear what I said?" Lucas' statement instantly made Ellena look up and look at Lucas' face disapprovingly. It was clear from her face that she did not accept what her husband said.

"Ah, you're so shy, Elle. Even if it's true, I'm fine and wouldn't mind at all. I just don't want you to get sicker because you're too busy thinking about other people and I don't want to be because you have to take care of sick people. like you." Lucas said not really. He then landed himself in the chair he had been sitting in a few minutes before, before ushering his mother into his mother-in-law's room.

"Lucaaas ...." Ellena gritted her teeth as she glared at Lucas furiously. Her jaw seemed to harden with a slightly ragged breath from holding back the annoyance that had rumbled in his head. For some reason Lucas was so happy to irritate her. She thought he really cared about her, but she was wrong.

"Ha ha ha!" Lucas laughed at Ellena's face that seemed adorable, not scary. "You're so beautiful when you're angry like that." He said, staring intently at Ellena's face.

Lucas' statement this time managed to make Ellena end her anger. Her face turned red again, getting praise from Lucas. However, she tried hard not to show it in front of her husband. For some reason Lucas was so happy to make her act like that.

"Why is your face red like that?" Lucas asked deliberately wanting to keep teasing Ellena, suddenly making his wife even more furious about it.

"I'm hot, I want to sleep!" She immediately lay down and covered her whole body with a blanket.

Lucas just chuckled while shaking his head at Ellena's really cute attitude in his eyes.

***

Ellena sped up her legs even more down the corridor of the hospital where her mother was being treated. After receiving news from Martin that her mother had woken up, the woman immediately rushed to the hospital with her husband who was always faithfully beside her.

She opened the door to the ICU room which was already in front of her with great enthusiasm. Ellena's eyes immediately caught the frail body lying on the gurney. Those wistful eyes looked at Ellena with a smile etched on her pale face.

"Mom ...." Ellena burst into tears at that very moment. She immediately approached and kissed the middle-aged woman's forehead for a long time while sobbing. She also showed a longing hug to the woman.

Only the warmth she felt when her mother returned the hug. Finally, she could breathe a sigh of relief, after two weeks of waiting for her mother to fall unconscious.

"Are you all right, My daughter?" Briana asked in a slightly hoarse tone and teary eyes. She stroked the back of the daughter she had longed for so long. Unconsciously and could be prevented, the clear crystal dripped from the corners of her eyes slowly. Tears of joy for being able to meet her daughter again.

"I should be the one asking that, not Mom!" annoyed Ellena as she lifted her body from her mother's arms. She stared intently at Briana's shabby face, which was still smiling at her. Even in a situation like this, the mother was still worried about her. Couldn't her mother be more concerned about her own health than anyone else's, even if she was her daughter?

Briana seemed to chuckle at Ellena's protest. Ah, she still hides her weakness in front of Ellena and Martin, even though they know that her condition is still not very well.

"Has your condition improved enough? Is there something you are feeling right now, for example in your head or something?" Ellena asked a few questions while holding Briana's head. Not only did she want to show her concern, but she really cared and worried about her mother.

Briana smiled wider, then she closed her eyes. However, it didn't last long. She reopened those eyelids, before finally shaking her head in response to Ellena's question.

"Really, Mom?" Ellena confirmed. She just didn't want her mother to lie and wanted to hide her pain.

"I'm fine, son. You just ask the doctor, if you don't believe me." Briana replied as she turned to a doctor who seemed to be standing in the room, right to her left.

Ellena looked directly at the doctor questioningly, without saying anything. Even so, the doctor could immediately understand the meaning of the gaze he gave Ellena.

"Mrs. Briana's condition has improved for the time being, her vital organs are functioning normally again. Hopefully it will last long enough and Mrs. Briana will be given health again after this," explained the doctor who immediately received a response from Ellena, Lucas and Martin.
