"You can. I'm sure you can," Lucas replied as he looked up at Ellena who was still standing three meters away from him.
"But-"
"Sit over there!" Lucas cut in asking Ellena to sit on the white sofa in front of his desk.
Ellena snorted, then stepped lazily over to the sofa. She landed her body there. She looked around in several directions.
The room is dominated by white color with various kinds of books that adorn every corner. Yes, in front of Ellena there is a large bookcase, even on the sofa where she sits there is a mini bookshelf that hangs on the wall. Meanwhile, behind Lucas' desk there is a cupboard that is used to store important documents.
Not only that, several miniatures and photos also seem to decorate the room, although only Lucas and his family are clearly visible there. Everything is arranged very nicely, thus creating a comfortable atmosphere.
"Please help me check the work report email from the employee."
Ellena woke up when she realized Lucas was suddenly sitting beside her. She turned her head, then looked at Lucas who was placing the laptop on the table in front of the sofa, then shifted the object in front of her.
"I have a lot of work to do tonight. You can help me, can't you?" Ellena looked away in any direction, when Lucas turned and caught himself watching her husband.
"I'm not sure." Ellena replied, shaking her head, not daring to look at Lucas who she realized was still staring at her. Oh shit! Her heart was beating wildly again.
Why is herheart always unable to compromise, at times like that. How could she neutralize her feelings so quickly, if Lucas was so close to her?
'Please, Lucas, don't look at me like that!'
Lucas, who realized the awkwardness in Ellena, immediately smiled, before he finally started back with his activities.
"Are you ready?" Lucas asked which suddenly made Ellena flinch, then turned her gaze blankly at him.
"What happened to you?" Lucas looked at Ellena's face which suddenly turned pale. "Are you sick?" He asked again.
"Hm? N-no," Ellena hissed half-consciously.
Ah, such a close distance, made her unable to think straight. I don't know how she could stop the beating of her heart that was getting more and more erratic. The battle against her own feelings turned out to be much more difficult than she had imagined.
"But your face is so pale. Are you really all right?" Lucas held Ellena's forehead, just wanting to check his wife's temperature.
"I'm fine, Lucas. Don't treat me like a child, I know how my body is right now." Ellena brushed Lucas' hand off her forehead.
Lucas didn't know that his behavior could make Ellena even more overwhelmed to fight the feelings that raced even faster.
"You're not kidding, Elle. You look so pale!" Lucas said in disbelief.
"I'm fine, Lucas!" Ellena glared at Lucas in annoyance.
"Are you serious?" Lucas asked to confirm.
"Do I look like I'm lying?" Elena pursed her lips.
Every time she was with Lucas, she would end up being annoyed. Couldn't Lucas just not piss her off for once?
"Then why is your face pale?" Lucas stared intently at Ellena's face for a moment. "Is something bothering you?" He added with a smile while squinting one eye, as if he deliberately wanted to tease Ellena.
"Enough! Come on, let's get started!" said Elena, irritated.
"Okay," Lucas replied as he moved closer to Ellena, even the bases of their arms touching each other because the distance was too close.
Ellena swiftly turned her head back, casting a piercing and deadly glare at Lucas.
"Lucas, please take care of yourself! Don't try to approach me. We're only married by agreement. Don't forget that!" growled Elena increasingly annoyed. I don't know why Lucas became such an installment if he was around her.
Lucas sighed in frustration, then looked away for a moment. "So what if we got married by agreement? Can't we just sit close together like this?" He snapped, feeling annoyed with Ellena who always avoided being close to him, as if he was a very disgusting creature to his own wife.
"Besides, isn't your forehead already I touch—"
Ellena widened her gaze even more, before Lucas continued what will he say.
"Do you want me to help or not?" She asked changing the subject. "If your intention was to call me here just to annoy me, I'd be leaving right now!" Ellena said with a serious look.
An attempt to hide her feelings in front of Lucas. Truly, she was already very overwhelmed with every vibration that raced louder in there.
"Okay, let's get started." Lucas relented and immediately grabbed some files that he had placed on the table next to the laptop in front of Ellena. "You just do that." He pleaded without turning his head. His hands are so dexterous to open each sheet of paper from those important documents.
"What should I do?" Ellena's question managed to make Lucas look back.
Lucas also explained one by one what Ellena had to do. No need to spend a long time, Ellena, who incidentally has a high IQ, immediately understood Lucas' explanation. After that, they immediately took their respective tasks seriously, even the atmosphere became silent for a moment.
In the midst of their activity, Lucas got up from his seat and took a cup of coffee that was almost cold, because he had not had a chance to touch it so far. He took the cup of coffee and sat back down next to Ellena.
"Akh ...." Lucas sighed in frustration as he squinted as if there was something odd about the taste of the coffee. He then moved the coffee cup away from his lips. This immediately caught Ellena's attention.
"What are you doing? Is there something wrong with the coffee?" Ellena looked up questioningly.
"I think so." Lucas replied, shaking his head slightly to mimic his words.
"Is the coffee not sugar enough?" asked Ellena still in disbelief, even though she made the coffee according to her usual dose. However, why does it feel different according to Lucas.
"You taste it yourself." Lucas held out the cup of coffee and Ellena grabbed it, out of curiosity.
Ellena stared at Lucas for a moment, before she decided to taste her coffee. She then brought the glass cup to her lips and tasted a little of the coffee drink.
She was silent for a moment, deliberately wanting to really confirm her sense of taste. Instantly she raised her eyebrows, because she felt there was nothing strange about the taste of the coffee. However, the coffee was not as hot as before.
"Sweet." She said as she looked at Lucas intently to tell. "Don't you like less hot coffee like this?" She asked for sure.
"Oh, no. I thought the coffee wasn't sweet enough." Lucas replied.
"But this is so sweet, Lucas!" Ellena argued.
"Are you sure?" Lucas asked to confirm.
"You just taste it again." Ellena handed back the coffee cup and Lucas immediately tasted it a second time.
Lucas then nodded his head as if heeding Ellena's words. "You're right, it turns out the coffee is sweet." He said with a smile as he looked at Ellena.
"You're deliberately tricking me?" annoyed Ellena who immediately realized Lucas' prank.
"Who made fun of you? The coffee didn't taste sweet." Lucas lied.
"You're lying! How could the taste of the coffee suddenly turn sweet after I drank it. Are you trying to fool me on purpose?" Ellena sarcasm as if not believing Lucas' words.
Lucas chuckled slightly, before he responded to Ellena's question. "Maybe you have sugar on your lips, so the coffee suddenly turns sweet."
Ellena's face turned red in an instant. What was Lucas talking about? Was he deliberately trying to seduce his wife?
"You-"
"Stop! You finish your job!" Lucas concluded, returning to focus with several files in front of him, after he was quite satisfied with teasing Ellena.
Not wanting to be too proud of arguing, Ellena just obeyed and did her husband's orders without any further comment.
After almost three hours of them struggling with work, Lucas finally finished his activities. He immediately reorganized some files that looked a little scattered on the table. Occasionally he yawned, because he was feeling sleepy.
"Are you done?" Lucas turned his head to the side with a hand that seemed to be tapping the pile of files to get it organized. However, he immediately stopped his activities when he found Ellena who was already unconscious.
"Are you sleeping?" Lucas whispered as he put the file on the table, then approached Ellena's face who was looking up with the back of the sofa supporting her.
He looked at the beautiful smooth skin, he didn't even find the slightest fine lines on Ellena's face, which didn't look slack and looked much younger than her current age.
"Too bad, she must be very tired." He said, staring at Ellena's sad face, but only for a moment. He then smoothed out the hair that partially covered Ellena's face while smiling broadly.
Lucas' gaze shifted to Ellena's luscious lips. He stared at those pink lips for a long time and was so attached, he even seemed to have forgotten how to wink.
Those tiny lips really had Lucas hypnotized so deeply. Beautiful and very seductive. That was the thought that was filling his head there. Instantly he swallowed heavy saliva, feeling powerless if he was continuously faced with a situation that made his lips tremble as if he wanted to scoop up his wife's lips right then and there.
Lucas moved his face closer to Ellena's. As a normal man, of course he will find it difficult to resist the temptations that are displayed in front of his eyes.
Ah, this time Ellena managed to make Lucas lose his mind. His almost perfect face was like a magnet that drew Lucas's attention to get closer to her. Lucas continued to lower his face until now their lips were only a few centimeters apart. He then looked every inch of Ellena's face at a very close distance.
"I'm sorry, Elle.." He whispered before he landed his lips on Ellena's.
