"Stay with me."
Lucas' words this time suddenly made Ellena rounded, even managed to reduce the tears that had been so hard to hold back.
"What do you mean?" Ellena looked at Lucas questioningly.
'Was he serious about what he said?' muttered Ellena thoughtfully. 'Oh no! There's no way Lucas was serious. He must be kidding.' Ellena tried to deny her current thoughts.
What kind of joke is this? Lucas, who is known to be very picky, can't possibly be willing to partner with a woman like Ellena, who in fact comes from a lower class. It's really weird and certainly won't make Ellena believe it.
Ellena's daydream came to a halt when Lucas grabbed both the bases of her arms and cast a deep stare. "Are you willing to stay with me?" He asked which suddenly made Ellena stunned for a moment.
"No!" Ellena said, shaking her head. Without even thinking, she seemed so sure of her answer.
"Are you sure about your answer?" Lucas tried to make sure. In fact, Ellena's assertiveness didn't convince him.
"Of course I'm sure. Did you forget that someone was waiting for me?" Ellena let go of Lucas' hand from the base of her arm, then changed her sitting position to face forward. She looked down at the street that was already flooded with rainwater, and she could even hear every splash of the raindrops.
"You'd better not get your hopes up, because we are like heaven and earth that will never be able to unite!" added Ellena while playing with her hands as an expression of conversation. However, her gaze still remained the same.
Lucas looked away with a chuckle. "You're ahead of God." He snapped, pouting his lips. "Even though no one knows our mate. Maybe we really are. Oops, I almost forgot that we are officially husband and wife." Lucas pressed his lips together with his hands.
"Hey! Remember, we got married only because of an agreement!" said Ellena as she turned to the side and found Luca still staring at her.
"Is that still the case after what I did to you?" Lucas threatened not seriously.
Ellena immediately lifted the corner of her lips into a cynical grin. "What have you done to me, huh?" She asked, widening her eyes, staring intently at Lucas' face.
"Should I make my point clear?" Lucas rolled his eyes as if on purpose to tease Ellena.
"What do you mean what happened that night?" asked Ellen to confirm.
"According to you?" Lucas answered the question with a question.
"Never mind, Lucas. You don't have to fool me anymore. I've already done a direct examination to the doctor," replied Ellena, who looked more relaxed while waving her hand as if trying to ward off Lucas' intention which she understood very well.
Without Ellena knowing, she had stopped crying a long time ago. Somehow she quickly forgot the sadness that was so unbearable before, after revealing all the worries in her heart to Lucas.
No one thought that Lucas' simple treatment and words were able to heal the wounds in her heart in a short time.
"What do you mean?" Lucas rolled his eyes perfectly, he couldn't believe what he had just heard. "Did you really do that?" He asked probingly.
"Yes, of course!" Ellena insisted with such certainty. She then folded her arms back across her chest while looking straight ahead.
"When?" Lucas' gaze still didn't want to leave the woman sitting beside him.
"This morning, before I met Mr. Juno." Ellena turned back to Lucas with a triumphant grin.
Ellena's answer managed to make Lucas sigh in frustration while looking away at that moment. Oh shit! How could she beat him. After this, what can he do to make Ellena stick with him?
"Never mind. Come on, go home! I'm worried if I leave my mother too long when it's raining like this." Ellena pleaded who didn't want to prolong their argument. She re-adjusted her sitting position with her focus forward.
At least today Ellena was relieved to know the truth about what happened that night. It turned out that nothing had happened to Lucas and herself. Yes, Lucas was deliberately lying to scare herself. Oh, that guy is really annoying.
"Wait!" Lucas grabbed Ellena's hand, but she quickly brushed it off.
"How about ...." Lucas deliberately didn't continue. He simply held his own lips as if deliberately to signal to Ellena.
This time it was Ellena's turn to sigh in frustration, as she immediately understood Lucas' body language. Her face instantly turned red. However, she tried her best to control her feelings.
"Forget about it! Just pretend nothing ever happened between us and I'll forget everything!" said Ellena annoyed. "Besides, it happened because you stole it from me, not because you both liked it." She added, pouting his lips and bulging eyes, looking at Lucas with a bit of anger.
"Oh yes?" Lucas seemed to be sucking his lower lip, holding back a smile. "Didn't you enjoy it too?" tease then.
"No!" rebutted Ellena firmly. Her nose was puffy and deflated from being embarrassed.
"I think we'd be happy if we could live together forever." Lucas said, grinning happily as he looked up, imagining how wonderful it would be if they could live like a real husband and wife.
"Haven't we spent a lot of time spending such a beautiful night? Like you said to Selena earlier." He added, wiggling his eyebrows up and down, not letting go of his smile.
"What do you mean?" Ellena jumped in surprise at Lucas' words. "You heard everything I said to Miss Selena?" He asked.
"Yeah, I heard it all," Lucas answered honestly. "I didn't think you could reveal all that in front of Selena." He teased.
"Th-that—"
"Maybe we can make it all happen, Elle!"
"No!" rejected Ellena so reflexively.
Lucas looked up again and imagined being with Ellena. "Imagine how beautiful it is when you wake up you are in my arms. Ah, are you sure you don't want to feel the morning kiss that will decorate your every morning?" He asked looking seriously at Ellena's face, with a seductive sensual smile.
Ellena pursed her lips again, then chuckled lazily. She thought Lucas was out of his mind, imagining something that would never happen in his life. Even so, she also seemed to be hypnotized by Lucas' words, so that she also imagined what her husband was thinking.
Ah, it seems impossible for that to happen. She certainly wouldn't just accept Lucas' offer, when herself didn't know exactly how Lucas felt.
And Keenan. The longer the man disappeared from Ellena's memory. Lately, her brain memory is actually filled with the name Lucas, so she suddenly forgot the figure of Keenann who had accompanied her for quite a long time. I don't know why that could happen. It turned out that Lucas' presence was quite influential in her life.
'Ah, what am I thinking? Why am I thinking the same thing? No! Even if that happens, it won't be as beautiful as I imagined.' Ellena mumbled again brushing off all that was bothering her at this time.
"What do you think? Beautiful, isn't it?" The question seemed to indicate that Lucas knew what Ellena was imagining.
Ellena gasped, then scratched the non-itchy cheek. Of course she was embarrassed. However, she quickly turned her feelings away.
"Not at all! I can't even imagine it!" Ellena snapped again refuting Lucas' words.
"Never mind, Lucas. No matter how hard you try to tease me, I'll never change. Besides, I know you never mean what you say." She added trying to change the subject.
"What if I'm serious?" Lucas asked to confirm.
"I still won't believe it!" said Ellena who was still not convinced by all of Lucas' words.
Lucas snorted harshly in response to Ellena.
"You are indeed different. Lucky you are not someone who gets carried away easily." Lucas said, laughing slightly.
"Don't think about our conversation just now, because there's nothing serious in what I said." He mumbled as he started the engine of the car that had previously been turned off.
'It turns out that my guess was right. He's not serious.' Ellena mumbled as she glared at Lucas' face.
"Of course I know, without you having to say it outright." Ellena replied flatly.
"But if you wish for it, I can help make it happen, Elle."
His breath, which felt warm and refreshing, instantly made Ellena's body shiver, just as Lucas whispered those words into her ear. Ellena's body suddenly stiffened when she felt a warmth that seemed to spread throughout her body.
Ellena again responded to Lucas' question with a pout.
"Sorry for what Selena treated you earlier." Lucas whispered as he looked at Ellena's sad face.
"Why do you have to apologize, wasn't it Miss Selena, wasn't it you?" Ellena seemed to purse her lips slightly, because she was not happy to hear Lucas apologizing for Selena.
"Do you mind?" Lucas asked, raising an eyebrow.
"N-not like that—ah, never mind, forget it!" Ellena replied nervously which suddenly made Lucas smile.
"Are you feeling better?" Lucas asked as if he wanted to end the discussion with Ellena earlier.
Ellena just nodded her head and looked a little surprised at Lucas who gave her a distinctive, soothing smile.
"Okay, let's go home now!" Lucas said after a moment of looking at Ellena who was silent.
