Chapter 1126: After Story 2: The Low-Key War God Of The Academy

“Good morning, Head Prefect,” a First Year greeted the beautiful young lady with long blue hair and eyes, whom many of the students in Brynhildr Academy had a crush on.

“Good morning,” Joanne replied, giving the young man a nod.

She then continued to walk down the stairs of the Schwartz Manor to head to the Common Room, where she was once again greeted by her Manor Mates.

Joanne was now a Fourth Year and had been chosen as the Head Prefect of the Schwartz Manor.

She was well-respected by the students because of her talent, beauty, and background.

In fact, a few High-Ranking Nobles in Eastshire, Grandshire, and Westshire had even sent love letters to her, but the young lady simply rejected them.

Joanne might have loved the attention in the past. But now, she had long grown fed up with it.

It had been that way for the past two years ever since the great battle in Midgard.

There were still conflicts within the Lands of Saraqael, but the Shire Continent had been relatively peaceful.

As the young lady walked the familiar path leading to Dud Manor, she couldn’t help but feel a bit lonely. The majority of the people she knew and was close to already graduated from the academy.

Fortunately, her best friend, Princess Ramona, was still in the academy.

Just like her, she was now the Head Prefect of Dud Manor.

While Joanne was deep in her thoughts, she heard a familiar loud voice that made her smirk.

“Hey! Don’t think you can pass this road without paying a toll fee!” Ruby, the Fairy whom Ethan had befriended in the academy, shouted.

“That’s right!” another Fairy said. “Hmph! We are good friends with the Ravens of the academy. If you don’t want bird poop from falling on your heads, you better pay us with candies!”

“We are also part of the Ethan’s Fans Club!” another Fairy stated. “We are under the protection of our Sugar Daddy! Do you know Ethan Gremory? If you hurt any of us, he will come here to smack you silly!”

“”Give us candies!””

“”Fairies deserve candies!””

“”We are here to enforce our Fairy Rights!””

The students were already used to this scene because it happened once or twice a month.

The Fairies would block the path to the gardens, which was under their jurisdiction.

Technically, all those who wished to enter the garden needed to pay a toll fee.

“But I’m the Gardener…” the middle-aged man, who always took care of the garden, complained.

“Listen here, Old Jack! It doesn’t matter if you are THE Gardener!” Ruby said with her arms crossed over her chest. “If you want to do your job properly, you have to pay the toll fee!”

“But the Headmaster will not like it if the flower beds are not taken care of,” Jack replied.

“Hmph! So what?” Ruby raised her chin arrogantly. “If you don’t work, you don’t get paid. So if you don’t pay us, you can’t work, which means you won’t get paid. We have your livelihood under hostage, so pay up or shut up!”

“But that’s so wrong…” Jack didn’t know if he should laugh or cry after hearing Ruby’s demand.

Usually, the Fairies allowed him to pass through the gates of the garden to do his job and didn’t pester him for candies.

But it seemed that they hadn’t eaten any of it for the past few days, so they were now extorting the Gardeners who worked in the garden.

The other students, who already knew the drill, readily gave the Fairies a pouch of candies, which they took happily.

“Okay, the three of you can pass,” one of the Fairies said. “Um, the roses on the western side of the garden are in full bloom, and it smells wonderful there. If you plan to confess to someone, you should take them there.”

“Don’t worry. We’ll make sure to clear up the place and prevent anyone from disturbing your happy time. But that will cost you two pouches of candies.”

“We can even praise you in front of the girl, and tell her the most positive things about you. What? You don’t have any positive traits? No problem! We’ll just make one up on the spot!” Another Fairy patted her chest as if she was confident that she could praise anyone for the right price.

Joanne, who pitied the Gardener who was at a loss on what to do, took out a pouch of candies and held it up for Ruby to see.

“This is Old Jack’s payment,” Joanne said. “Make sure you don’t harass him while does his job, okay?”

“Fufufu! Of course, Joanne.” Ruby happily took the candy pouch. “Since you are our Sugar Daddy’s sister, you can go inside the garden anytime without paying the toll gate. That goes for your best friend, Ramona, as well.”

Suddenly, the Fairy saw someone dash inside the garden without paying a toll fee.

“Oi! You! Do you really think you can sneak inside without payment?!” Ruby flew angrily while holding the candy pouch in her hands. “Sisters, get him!”

“””Okay!”””

A swarm of Fairies unleashed a barrage of paralyzing spells that made the First Year, who had just enrolled in the academy, fall to the ground like a brick.

He was completely paralyzed, and since countless paralyzing spells had landed on his body, it would probably take him half an hour before the effect faded away.

Joanne shook his head helplessly and took out her wand.

“Leviticus!” Joanne chanted.

A moment later, the student’s body floated from the ground, which she pulled toward her direction.

“Please take him to the infirmary,” Joanne said to the Second Years from the Schwartz Manor, who was also in the crowd to spectate this entertaining scene.

“Yes, Head Prefect!” one of the Second Years also cast the spell Leviticus to lift the paralyzed First Year and take him to the infirmary.

“Do you see that?” Ruby asked with a smug look on her pretty face. “Don’t even think about sneaking in without paying the toll, or we will make you regret it!”

“”That’s right!””

“”Don’t think Fairies don’t bite!””

“”We will rock you!””

Joanne sighed internally before continuing to walk toward Dud Manor, where her best friend was waiting for her.

When she arrived, she saw a familiar young man, who was busy painting the exterior of the manor using a paint roller.

“Good morning, Sir George. It has been a while,” Joanne greeted the previous Head Prefect of the Dud Manor, who usually visited the academy two to three times a month.

“Good morning, Joanne,” George said with a smile. “Are you looking for Ramona?”

“Yes,” Joanne replied. “How are your wives? I heard Sabrina will give birth soon.”

“Both of them are fine,” George replied. “Roze is taking care of our two-year old, and Sabrina will give birth in a month.”

“Will it be a boy or a girl?”

“A girl. We are still thinking of a name to give her though.”

George was married to two young ladies, whom he had met in the academy.

His first girlfriend, Sabrina, had gotten along with another student who also loved George, just like her.

Her name was Roze Valcourt, and she was the same age as George.

The young man married the two of them two years ago, and the first one to give birth was Roze since Sabrina was still studying in the academy.

When the bulge on her stomach was starting to show, Sabrina decided to take a break from the academy, just like Lily, so she could give birth to her child safely.

“Please do your best to be a responsible Father, Sir George,” Joanne said.

“Of course,” George replied. “Actually, I will become the new Professor for Physical Combat Training next year. Unfortunately, you and Ramona would have already graduated by then. Are you enjoying your role as a Head Prefect?”

“It’s both a rewarding and stressful position,” Joanne answered.

“Hahaha!” George laughed, nodding in understanding. “Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.”

“I hope so,” Joanne replied before bidding George goodbye.

The young man watched Ethan’s younger sister enter Dud Manor with a faint smile on his face before returning to his work of repainting the Manor.

“Perhaps, after two years, this Manor will finally close its doors,” George said sadly.

No Duds enrolled at the academy this year, which meant that the Second Years were the youngest members.

This was also why he decided to teach in the academy. That way, he could always look after the Manor which he, Henry, Ethan, and the rest of the Duds, who had studied in the academy, called home.

Ethan had been the Head Prefect of Dud Manor until he graduated a few months ago. He then passed the torch to Princess Ramona, who was also a Fourth Year just like Joanne.

George didn’t want the legacy of Dud Manor to fade away, so he filled the hallways and the common room with pictures of its former residents.

That way, even if the Manor closed its doors, the happy memories would remain.

Heaving a sigh of nostalgia, the young man continued his work a little more vigorously, intending to finish before sunset.

He had bought a house in Limeburgh Town for his family, so it wouldn’t take him long to return after his work was finished.

‘I better sneak some desserts from the kitchen to give Sabrina and Roze later,’ George thought. ‘Kane is a growing boy, so maybe I should get him something too?’

As he thought of his family waiting for him back home, the low-key War God of the academy couldn’t help but smile as he continued to paint the walls of the Manor, which he hoped would stand the test of time.
