Chapter 869: Nathaniel is a ruler here?
Gvette’s hands fell to his sides, his eyes trembling as he stared at Kyle, who was counting the pile of natural crystals.
“How…?”
He whispered, his voice barely audible.
Even the crowd surrounding them was stunned into utter silence.
Kyle tilted his head, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. He had played eleven rounds and won every single one.
“Let’s play another round. This time the number I chose is five. Throw the dice. The bet will be five hundred crystals.”
Gvette slammed his palm on the table before him, his voice rising in anger.
“You are cheating!! If not, how can… how can you beat my natural law of fortune!”
Kyle’s eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face as he quickly stored the natural crystals he had won.
“There’s a huge crowd around us. Many of the Celestials around are way stronger than me. Do you really believe I am cheating?”
The crowd quickly asserted that he didn’t cheat, their faces filled with disbelief. They were shocked by his winning streak.
They had been watching intently all this time, but still couldn’t comprehend how Kyle was winning again and again. The dark-haired man before them had done absolutely nothing to win the games! No strategy, no planning! He just guessed!
It was as if he was purely relying on his luck… At this thought, many gasped as a realization finally dawned on them. But the question was, how was it possible for him to possess such incredible luck?
Gvette’s face flushed as he stood up. He would be an idiot if he played more! It was clear that Kyle would win every time!
“I am not playing anymore! That’s it!”
He strolled away without sparing the hooded man another glance. The crowd chuckled as they watched his back.
Kyle exhaled softly.
“What a pity. I wanted to win more.”
He stood up, and before anyone from the crowd could approach him, he vanished.
On his way to the library, he stopped at numerous locations where people were engaged in games, wagering their natural crystals. The knowledge of the natural law of fortune he gained from Gvette’s fortune dice seemed to amplify with each victory.
By the time he reached his destination, he had amassed a fortune in natural crystals that would make any Celestial envious. His name had become synonymous with luck throughout the entire Clan, leading to his banishment from all wagering games.
Kyle stood before a small structure.
It was larger than the rest, with a plaque engraved with three words, ’Knowledge is Wisdom’, above its entrance.
However, even though it was bigger than the others, it didn’t look like a library from any angle. It looked more like a small house. The building was made of rough-hewn stone, its walls covered in moss and lichen.
There were no windows, and the only opening he could see was at the top of the roof, like a smokehole. Seriously, the whole thing felt more like a forgotten shrine than a place where he could find books.
Kyle hesitated for a moment, wondering if Silver had directed him to the right place.
His hesitation faded when an old Celestial, seated near the building, welcomed him.
“This is really the library.”
He wanted to enter the place, but the old Celestial in silver robes stopped him and held out his hand with a smile.
“200 natural crystals for entry.”
Kyle let out an ’oh’. He wasn’t surprised that he had to pay to enter the library, as even a meditation spot here required payment.
Taking out 200 crystals, he gave them to the old Celestial, who was surprised at the payment. He had actually thought the man would leave upon hearing the price. Still, he happily accepted the crystals.
Kyle approached the library. As he pushed open the door, a cloud of dust billowed out. His brows furrowed, but just as he stepped inside, his eyes widened. He was teleported to a completely different place.
A blinding light greeted him, followed by rows of towering bookshelves floating all around, filled with books and scrolls.
A young boy, no more than ten years old, wearing round spectacles, floated amidst the books, his gaze fixed on Kyle.
“What brings you here?”
He asked with an annoyed face, his voice echoing softly through the vast library.
Kyle’s focus was on something else. He didn’t immediately acknowledge the boy, his gaze instead drawn to the swirling, ethereal energy that seemed to hold the space.
“This is a space pocket? Interesting. So, we can create our own space that can exist in a void with the help of the space law.”
The boy raised a brow. It was rare to see a Celestial noticing these difficult details so easily the moment they arrived.
Kyle turned to him, his eyes scanning him. The small kid was very powerful, that was the only thing he could discern.
“You are older than me. It’s kind of strange to see someone so old in a child’s body.”
The boy laughed, his shoulders shaking.
“I can’t help it. This is my real body. I learned a unique natural law related to life force that made it this way. Anyway…”
His eyes narrowed.
“You still haven’t answered my earlier question. What brings you here?”
Kyle drifted closer to the bookshelf on his right, drawn by the natural energy radiating from it. A barrier, however, prevented him from reaching the books.
“I paid to enter this place. I am new to the Celestial Realm, so I came to the library to get some knowledge about this world. I thought it would be easier that way.”
The boy was surprised to hear his reason. New Celestials normally talked with others for information about this world. After all, that was an easier method than browsing through multiple books in this quiet place. But he nodded in understanding.
“Do as you please, but if you take a book from a bookshelf, be sure to return it to its proper place. No stealing, either. I am the guardian here, so I will know immediately if anything goes missing. The items you can’t touch are enclosed within a barrier. If you’re interested in learning about this realm, the books on that subject are to your left.”
Kyle muttered a faint thanks. In the next second, silence returned to the huge white space filled with floating bookshelves.
The boy peeked at him, only to see him flipping through one book after another.
’Huh… is he just seeing the pages? Even if Celestials have a greater pace than normal in reading, how is he so fast?’
A murmur finally echoed in the air.
“The Rulers?”
Kyle’s eyes crinkled with chilling coldness when he saw an eerily familiar name in the book he had just picked up.
“Nathaniel is a ruler here?”
