When they returned to the inn, the night only started, and so Wu Long took out the red crystals he spotted the leader of the local Corrupt Path’s faction receive from the nobleman.
He gave the two big ones to Song Lingfei and Liang Yuhan, distributing the other smaller ones among the beauties.
“Eh? But I don’t have any special bloodlines…”, Hua Ziyan raised her eyes from the crystal she received to Wu Long,
“Neither do I”, Shen Min nodded, as did all of the beauties Wu Long gave the smaller crystals to.
Gong Liwei, Cai Yin and Hong Yue looked especially reluctant to receive them.
At the same time, Liang Yuhan looked at the bigger crystal in her hands, and then asked, “Sweetie, my bloodline’s…”
She didn’t finish, but it was self-explanatory that she considered her bloodline not as important. It was true that it was distinct, but it was a minor one compared to Song Lingfei.
“For starters, I told you, I have a method of strengthening my bloodlines with the Blood Rune, which isn’t the case for you, in fact tonight I received a major boost to all three bloodlines. So when it comes to these types of resources it is far more reasonable for you all to use them. Then, turning specifically to those without special bloodlines, “You might not have a unique bloodline, but it isn’t guaranteed. Sometimes a bloodline sleeps, until it is jolted awake by something, and is virtually impossible to detect before that”
He then added turning to Song Lingfei, “Like the Great Void Eagle bloodline slept within the Azure Eagle bloodline until it spontaneously surfaced in Lingfei because of the poison in her mother’s lineage”
“Does that mean it is possible that a bloodline awakens by refining this crystal?”, Hua Ziyan asked with visible doubt that she possessed any special bloodline.
“Bloodlines can awaken by many different factors and circumstances”, Wu Long smiled, “It can happen naturally, usually either in Essence Awakening Realm, because that is the start of the Seven Profound Realms, in Essence Gathering Realm, because it specifically focuses on the Root of Vitality and thus, Blood Essence, it can happen because of chance accident or, yes, with these kinds of stimuli”
“But wouldn’t it be a waste to use it on a chance that I might have some bloodline, instead of giving my crystal to Sister Lingfei or Sister Yuhan who definitely have one?”, Hua Ziyan didn’t back down on this.
“Haha, even if you do not awaken any ‘special’ bloodline, your own bloodlines are actually not that powerless, as they give you traits that you possess as a cultivator, just in a much more subtle way”, Wu Long chuckled, explaining that a ‘normal’ bloodline in actuality was not always without any traits.
Sensing Wu Long’s signal asking for help, Ye Ling smiled, chiming in, “Actually, the specific bloodlines of Legendary and Mythical Beasts, or even Arcane and Spiritual Beasts, or Spirit Race, or any other race, are not the only bloodlines that matter. Human cultivators also have their powerful bloodlines. Some human clans originating from exceptional individuals even develop innate bloodline traits. But not only that, although quite rare to truly awaken, there are possessors of Ancient Bloodlines, of human clans and nations that existed in the Ancient Era and carry immense powers-…”
“But what I’m saying is that even a ‘normal’ bloodline would benefit from this”, Wu Long intervened before Ye Ling once more shifted focus to the unique and special bloodlines instead of persuading the beauties that it was in no way a waste to use the crystals even if they didn’t awaken any bloodline at all.
Ye Ling showed a slightly guilty look to Wu Long, silently apologizing as she got carried away. Thankfully, seeing his adamant stance, the beauties reluctantly agreed to use the crystals, persuaded more by the fact he wanted them to than the vague chance they could gain something.
Wu Long made a wry smile, and then turned to Liang Yuhan, “As for your bloodline, Yuhan, it might have been a burden and a curse to you before, but now that you are free from the biggest flaw of that bloodline, it would not hurt to gain more of its powers”
Liang Yuhan did think Song Lingfei would be a better choice to use this crystal as well, especially since Wu Long still had some of the smaller ones left, but refrained from arguing with him after seeing how futile it was by the example of the others.
After all, none of the beauties wanted to upset him, they were only worried that the resources he worked hard to provide them would be wasted on them.
Wu Long sighed with relief, seeing as there were no more resistance, since Song Lingfei did not even think about refusing, knowing that nourishing her bloodline would definitely help Wu Long.
He then went to give crystals to Butler Bang, Nie Guanting, Old Yen, and Kwon Qianhong.
But when the latter two started showing even the slightest signs of reluctance he silently raised his hand to stop them with a deadpan look in his eyes, adding, “I won’t be spending any time arguing about this”, implying that they weren’t beautiful women he was in love with to behave like ones.
He also had some for the subordinates he left behind in the Oak Fortress.
While he went to his subordinates though, Ye Ling whispered to the beauties in a conspiratorial tone, “Ladies, what I was trying to imply to you before in a roundabout way, is that if there are powerful human race bloodlines of Modern Era, not just the Ancient Era, those bloodlines must have points of origin, which are, as I said, exceptional individuals who pass their bloodline to their descendants that carry innate powers they imbue into their bloodline. And for that to happen, in case the exceptional individual who would be passing down bloodline legacy is a man, the mother who bears the child must strengthen her bloodline power with such crystals and other methods. So, think bigger, and further into the future, ladies, it’s not just about awakening bloodlines, or current power, or other such things, there’s much more at stake here for the future”
As she said this, and gave them a wink with a meaningful smile, the ladies who reluctantly agreed to use the crystals before, basically just to not burden Wu Long with having to persuade them, collectively gasped and suddenly had fires of excitement lit in their eyes as they turned to look at the crystals in their hands.
