ETERNAL CULTIVATION OF ALCHEMY
Chapter 2536 - 2536: The Cauldron's New PowerAlex was quite interested in the pill he had made and wondered how many would use it. The fact was, not many would need to use it, given how relatively quick one’s cultivation base was in the Immortal realm.
To fully go through all Immortal Tribulation below the Divine realm, it would take over 360 thousand years. That was enough time for someone to either enter the Divine realm or die long before that.
Still, the fact that he managed to make anything that interacted with the heavens in a way made him happy. Maybe there was someone out there like the Emerald Raven from the Beast Cloud Sect who could make use of this pill.
Now that the recipe was ready, Alex needed to register a pill as well. So, he brought Memory out in front of him and prepared the necessary ingredients. Aside from four minor ingredients, this recipe used up all the other sixteen ingredients.
Sitting before Memory, Alex now wanted to test out her powers too. Memory had said she needed energy to create the barrier around her, but given the lack of necessity for such a thing, he decided to test that power later.
The replication skill of the cauldron wasn’t that useful either at the moment since he was making a single pill. So, Alex decided to test the final power, which was that Memory could apparently use any technique he could.
Flames appeared under Memory, and almost immediately, Alex recognized the deepness in their connection. Even without his True Fire Dao, Alex would’ve been able to control fire in a much more precise manner due to their connection and his newfound ability to more or less tell what was going on within the cauldron.
Alex placed the first ingredient and began refining it. As he did, he was surprised at how easy the refinement felt. There was so much less burden on his mind from the ingredients this time around.
“Are you helping me?” Alex asked.
“Of course,” Memory said. “I can stop if you want.”
“No, I was merely asking,” Alex said and continued making the pill. With all five major ingredients involved, the pill was no doubt going to be difficult to make without paying attention.
However, even as Alex went on, he found that he had overestimated the pill’s difficulty. Sure, he had somewhat grown after the breakthrough, but this easiness was at an entirely different level.
‘It’s Memory,’ he thought as he recognized the cauldron suppressing the energy within it, making the burden it would place on him much less. It was quite incredible.
Alex continued on with this ease until all of the ingredients were refined into powder and the final energy formed within the cauldron.
Alex nearly formed the pill too after it was all done but stopped himself. That part was something he wanted to test with Memory’s power. Since Memory had said that he could use his skills through her, he wanted to test that with the Vortex of Perfection pill-forming technique.
“How do I make you use my technique?” Alex asked her. “Tell me what I need to do.”
“Just put some Qi into me and send me your understanding of the technique you want me to use,” Memory said. “I think that should work.”
Alex thought for a moment and nodded. He poured some Qi into Memory and then sent his understanding of what the Vortex of Perfection technique was.
“Hmm…” Memory mused. “I think I get it.”
Memory used the technique.
The powder within the cauldron moved in a circle as it began clumping in the middle. As it clumped, it all fell into a perfect sphere, formed using the first half of the technique. Then, the energy within the cauldron swirled, forming a vortex right above the powder sphere, into which it flew.
Alex didn’t have to do anything but send in his Qi. Memory did everything else. As the pill formed, Alex heard the sky rumble above him.
Alex looked up in disbelief. Memory had just made a pill that summoned the pill clouds.
Alex quickly put his Qi inside the cauldron, protecting the pill. He couldn’t let his shock get the better of him in this situation, such that he ended up losing the pill.
The first pill lightning struck down from the sky, and even before it hit the pill, Memory’s illusory figure appeared outside as she punched directly at the pill lightning.
The pill lightning was destroyed, which left behind a wave of energy that flowed into her, going into the pill within.
It was a surprise for Alex that he didn’t have to protect the pill himself. “How many pill lightnings do you think you can stop?” he asked.
“A couple more,” Memory said. “I can’t be certain exactly how many, though. I’ll let you know when I feel like I have become too weak.”
Alex nodded and continued protecting the pill when the second pill lightning struck down. Once again, Memory appeared outside and punched the lightning bolt.
Once again, the bolt vanished.
“Hmm, I think I will be wounded if I come out the next time,” Memory said and kept her spirit within her body.
Alex smiled and continued protecting the pill. As the third pill lightning prepared to fall, he understood that he had to be the one to protect it.
The third pill lightning fell, but it never hit Alex or the pill. A glowing orange barrier appeared around him and Memory all of a sudden, protecting the two of them.
Alex froze for a second, taken aback by the unexpected outcome. He looked down toward the cauldron. “Is this your barrier?” he asked.
“Yes,” Memory said excitedly. “I blocked the first two lightning bolts, so I gathered enough energy to make one of these. Don’t worry, I think I can stop the next one too.”
Alex narrowed his eyes. “Are you sure?” he asked. “I don’t want the pill getting destroyed.”
But Memory insisted.
“Trust me, Master, I can do it.”
