INFINITE RANGE: THE SNIPER MAGE

Chapter 295 295: Interesting, This is Too Damn Interesting!

The life-or-death gamble continues!

“Holy Item: Demon Sada’s Key.” “Holy Item: Thunder God Emblem.” “Holy Item: Light Sacred Stone.”

Next, Usher, Snow Dream, and Kalrien were all incredibly lucky, each acquiring one of the three rare items.

Orson’s gaze deepened as he pondered. Clearly, these items were related to their hidden professions or backgrounds. For the other players, these would have little use, as they were exclusive items, but their rarity warranted their classification as holy items.

“I choose The Divine Item, Sea Demon Emperor’s Fang,” Kanting said with a smile, taking a risk and targeting a Divine Item once again.

Unfortunately, as a black light appeared, the dust settled, and the “Death” door swung open!

Kanting shook his head helplessly and turned to Orson: “I can’t match your courage. But I do have one request: take care of my friend in the US region. I will offer you a generous reward.”

Orson was taken aback: “Your friend?”

Kanting continued, “ld ShadowBlade.”

“ShadowBlade?” Orson raised an eyebrow. “That name sounds familiar…”

Kanting: “A very powerful swordsman, and also my dear friend.”

“Alright, I’ll remember him. I’ll give him a memorable welcome,” Orson said, flashing a grin.

ShadowBlade. Isn’t that the guy who almost roasted him alive on a spit?

James, once part of the world’s top guild, [Sword Soul Guild], no wonder that guy was so arrogant in front of him.

“Get ready for Bradley’s love, Blank’s big brother,” Orson thought to himself, laughing internally.

A few seconds later, Kanting was wiped out by the black light.

A pile of loot dropped, including an SS-class job awakening scroll.

Jungle Maniac: “The Holy Item they just got, and it’s already gone?”

Pokpung: “That’s just how it is, monkey. All the gear from the [MONSTER CATACLYSM] event will drop if you get killed.”

“That’s how it works? I don’t want to mess with NR’s overlords…” Jungle Maniac muttered.

The SS-class job awakening clue was valuable, though it couldn’t immediately upgrade an S-class profession. Just the “clue” alone made it highly sought after.

However, Thunder God Kalrien, second in the world and Kanting’s older brother, was no joke. A double-SS player on the Leaderboards, both in reality and in Infinite Dimensions. Even Usher would think twice before going after the Holy Item.

Kanting’s death served as a reminder to everyone: no matter how rare an item you got in the last wish, if you die during [MONSTER CATACLYSM], everything you acquired will drop. Nobody dared to repeatedly choose Holy Items or Divine Items, as they couldn’t rely on luck forever.

In the next round of wishing, Pokpung, Jungle Maniac, and Davis opted for “Rare” items to avoid the 15% instant death chance. For them, they had already met their goal with the Holy Items, so greed would only bring disaster.

The light screen appeared in front of Naoko.

“There’s a saying in the US: ‘Fortune favors the bold.'” The crazy woman giggled to herself, showing her tiger teeth as she added, “I choose The Divine Item, Broken True Sutra Mirror Fragment…”

“Oh no, Titan’s Curse has already gone to Orgod. She’ll probably get what she wants now!” Davis muttered, frowning.

“This woman’s mind is not ordinary. She’s been guiding us to target Orgod. That’s likely her true objective!”

Snow Dream furrowed her brows. Naoko’s behavior had been so deceptive that everyone had underestimated her.

Naoko’s power came from the incomplete Eight-Headed Serpent Mirror. She only had one of its four fragments, but just that one piece had turned her from an ordinary player into UJ District’s strongest summoner. The potential of Yamata no Orochi was terrifying.

Titan’s Curse was still only used by Orson and Naoko—everyone else had already used theirs up.

If Naoko obtained another fragment, the top three guilds in UJ District would have no chance to resist!

Orson’s expression shifted as he coldly interrupted: “No. From here on, you can only pick normal items. Just take my stuff and get out.”

“Huh? Why like this? You’re so mean,” Naoko pouted, complaining to Orson.

Orson had already been revived and pulled a fast one on everyone, so Naoko had made up her mind to fully side with him.

“No turning back now,” Orson said indifferently. “Even without the Titan’s Wish Pool, I can still help you get the fragment. Your task now is to stay alive.”

Naoko smiled happily and winked at Orson. “I trust you unconditionally. So, once I get your stuff out, will you come find me?”

Orson felt a headache coming on. This woman really wasn’t an easy one to handle. With no other choice, he reluctantly nodded.

Naoko happily picked a normal item.

Orson waved his hand, and a Titan’s Blessing was sent her way.

The players around them were stunned. No one could understand what Orson was doing.

Naoko: “Huh? You’re using Titan’s Blessing like this?”

“He just wants some stat bonuses,” Snow Dream immediately saw through Orson’s intentions.

Titan’s Blessing only requires the target to survive, granting them stat bonuses. If the target picks the worst possible normal item, the Blessing is guaranteed to trigger. This was the safest option.

“You’re important. I can’t afford for you to fail. I had to be extra careful after you almost hit that 5% instant death rate,” Orson said calmly.

Naoko beamed with happiness. “I’m important… He said I’m important! This is so exciting!”

“You have received the blessing of Primordial Titan!”

“You’ve gained 300 Free Attributes, 440 Skill Points, 5 Talents, and 1,000 Gold.”

A notification rang out, and Orson received his blessing reward.

The life-or-death game entered its third round!

Many players were sweating bullets, worried about making a fatal mistake at the last moment. Even selecting a rare item could lead to disaster with the 15% instant death chance.

Usher: “This round’s Titan’s Blessing is priced at 700,000 gold.”

“What the hell… So this is what you meant by ‘unwavering faith’?” Orson nearly spat blood.

Usher didn’t even look at him, casually muttering, “Market fluctuations. It’s the law of business.”

The light screen appeared in front of Orson once more.

Orson took a deep breath and turned to Naoko. “Prepare to bless me.”

“700,000 gold? I’ll sell it to you!” Naoko said, grinning.

Orson shot her a look. “Then there’s nothing for you to do here.”

“So stingy. I was just kidding! Here, I’ll give you my everything!” Naoko said playfully as she prepared to give the blessing.

“Weakling Orgod, make your choice!” a mysterious voice rang out.

Orson really felt like hitting that voice with a few sticks.

His level had dropped to 13, and all his gear was unusable due to level requirements. He was now wearing a new player’s robe to avoid showing too much skin.

“The Divine Item, Any Attribute Dragon King’s Horn of the Dragon Race!” Orson said in a deep voice.

“What? This guy still dares to choose a Divine Item?!”

The players around were shocked. This guy was truly a Madman!

Pokpung sneered sharply: “Get ready for your level to be reset! From now on, the US Triple Crown winner will become a total joke!”

“I used to underestimate you.”

Kalrien, who had remained silent, spoke up slowly, his gaze towards Orson now tinged with respect.

With no one left with Titan’s Curse, the 60% instant death rate for the Divine Item was deadly. Even with Naoko’s blessing, there was still a 55% chance!

“This time… does he really have no backup plan?” Snow Dream thought, feeling conflicted.

Knowing Orson’s confidence in his abilities and intellect, she didn’t believe he would leave his fate up to luck.

The bronze wheel spun rapidly, and everyone felt a knot in their throats.

Clack!

The wheel stopped. The word “Death” appeared!

“Weakling Orgod, your greed has angered the Titan gods. Prepare to die!”

With a deafening laugh, the screen flashed.

Orson paused for a moment, then his face turned green: “I’ll be damned. This is too damn interesting!”
