[Eon’s POV: ]
It’s a new day in the tower. Everyone’s working on their own thing.
Carla and Alf are fighting once again, improving their skills by fighting one another as well as the artificial creatures that we have in the training rooms.
Grandpa was helping him with his creations– nowadays they were testing out the opponents that grandpa made from his memories and experiences.
Some were knights that he had fought on the battlefields, some were mages and other kinds of opponents that even he had found difficult in his times.
They weren’t too strong, at least not all of them were, so the two of them could deal with them if they used their skills and powers correctly. Grandpa was teaching them well, and thanks to him, they were also improving at a great speed.
‘We have skipped the plans to summon a spirit for everyone for this time. It wasn’t an easy decision considering Anna was starting to get better with her Arcanum handling, but even if she could handle a spirit creature, we couldn’t access the spirit gate for some reason.’
When we asked for answers, it all came down to the summoning ritual that we had performed a while ago. The resources that were used in the process could have influenced the sensitive spirit gate so the entire place was locked down.
It wasn’t going to open anytime soon now, so there won’t be any spirit summoning while we are here. But that is fine, we can focus on the other aspects thanks to this.
[{ Master, what are we doing today? The same thing as yesterday? }]
It was still early morning so I had just finished my daily chores and teaching Anna. It was now time for my own training like everyone else.
However, I had something else in mind for today instead of the simple Stigma training.
“I think we will look into the books that we have so why don’t we go to the library?”
[{ Oh? Okie~! }]
Quin and her Ocenoid friend had progressed well over these past few days. The two had also learned a lot about null-element magic from Great Aunt Mime.
She had progressed to (tier-9) thanks to all the resources and help that she had so that was a milestone that we will be celebrating soon.
‘We would have celebrated it last night itself, but she did not want that.’
Widening her Energy core to enter the new stage was no easy process. To become an Elder mage, one needed far more than just a great amount of energy.
They needed enlightenment, something one doesn’t get through training and knowledge alone.
Life experiences and a widening horizon helped in the process, and the rooms of elements had helped her significantly in that regard.
‘Perhaps seeing all of us and reading from the special books in the library here, as well as seeing this entire unique place had inspired her, but now that she was a (tier-9) mage, she was the second Elder Mage in the family after Rein’s grandma.’
It was a great achievement. There weren’t many elder mages in the world, and each one of them had their own unique Aspect of magic so now that she was an elder mage, it meant she had also developed her own Aspect of magic, a unique way to use the magic that she already possessed.
“Should I check up on the others one last time before we go through?”
[{ I knew you were going to say that, master~. Hehe, just connect to me then~. }]
Thanks to Celes’ clones, I could see the various parts of the tower where the others were.
It was also thanks to Rayray that we were able to see across the tower despite the restrictions.
‘Rayray was connected to Zoe who had access to the tower and could use the various functions of the tower, and thanks to that, Rayray could use that access and allow us to see the others through our connection.’
I can show the others something I wanted, make announcements and things like that, but there was a lot that I cannot do.
‘Having direct access was a good thing. It made things pretty easy in the tower.’
I could do a lot of things within the tower as well, but there are things that only Zoe can access. There are also things that she cannot do, things like going to the Treasury and a few different areas of the tower, so we have different authorities over the tower.
‘We work together for most of the things though, so we don’t face any problems.’
Anyway, Zoe was busy doing her own training right now.
‘She was learning to craft new things from the notes that her mom had left for her. Rein was also training her magic today instead of her eye powers. She needed to get stronger in all areas so she was learning new magic techniques with the books that she had found in the library.’
Cradle was with her today so I didn’t like that, but they were helping each other through duals so they were soon going to get into a fight once again. We’ll have to go and resolve that when it happens.
‘President and Sansan were doing their own training but if Rein and Del fought, we would have to stop them.’
Well, it has been happening for a while now so it’s not anything new for us anymore. Every time they are training together, they will end up fighting.
Everyone has gotten used to the environment of the tower though, that is much I can say for certain.
“Hmm… alright.”
Chry was now a [Rank-4] knight like Carla. He had been using the methods that I suggested and Sir Zuroro as well as Mave were helping him with things.
They were helping around a lot anyway, so everyone was grateful for their help.
“Let’s go Celes.”
For now, everyone was doing their thing. They were learning, and they were also preparing.
“Everyone seems excited.”
[{ Hehe, of course, they are~. We will be going out soon~. }]
We are going outside next week. And yeah, it will be a one-time thing and we will stay out for about three to four days.
‘Everyone will be together so that nothing bad happens, and since no one will be at the tower, we will be leaving it all alone for the time being.’
Hopefully nothing will happen when we are gone, but we will have to place our trust in the tower and the Ego that we had seen a while ago. They are the ones who kept the tower well when no one was around so when we are gone for the time being, we will have someone to take care of the tower… or is it going to be like the tower taking care of itself?
‘I don’t know. But we aren’t leaving anyone behind. Who knows what might happen when we go out and there’s no way to come back.’
We have accounted for a lot of things, and I don’t think we will face any problems so we are going to be fine, hopefully.
“Since we don’t have any special goal, just going out there and experiencing things should be enough.
As long as Anna and the others get some experience of the kind of place the forest is, I guess we will be fine.”
I’m afraid of the nights that we will face in the forest, but things aren’t the same as they were this time. We have strong help, we have artifacts that will save us in most situations, and we also have new powers.
‘Even if I cannot protect them all by myself, the others will be good enough to look after one another.’
As long as we stick around and don’t do anything foolish, things should work out well. But then again, I would have been happier if we had some more time on our hands… I would have gone back to the places that I have lived in the past and showed them to Anna and the others.
‘Perhaps we can go to one of those places but that would be it.’
I’m thinking about going to meet my little squirrel friend. But we will have to see what we do at the end.
“It’s not going to be an easy trip and we don’t really have that much of a time either so we will have to be pretty careful about how we spend our time in the forest.”
I don’t want to go anywhere near the places where I have almost died. I also don’t want to be anywhere near the places that have dangerous things so if we are going outside, we will first do a proper survey of the area and only then see where we are going.
If it’s possible to go to Fern and where she used to live near the lake, we might do that. We will have to move faster than I used to, but we can do that much with the advanced mobility we have right now.
Spells will help the others and we still have items that will make it easier for us to move in the forest. We might not have to move on foot either, but let’s see how things go in that area.
“For now, let’s focus on deciphering the complex code those books are written in.”
Lucy had been working on it for a while now, but we have still not decoded those things.
Perhaps looking around the library and checking in the other sections will help me with it… so, let’s go look into it for now.
