‘The Leader never told me that this ‘Yuan’ is so unbelievably handsome…’
Darlene thought, momentarily captivated by Yuan’s exceptional appearance. For a brief moment, she found herself lost in his striking features.
‘This is perfect… Not only will I claim the Purple Poison Dagger, but I’ll also get a new toy to play with. I’ll make him my slave and keep him by my side at all times.’
A wide grin spread across her face as she gazed at Yuan, her golden eyes gleaming with possessiveness.
Yuan, noticing her strange expression, raised an eyebrow. “What’s with that weird look on your face, woman? Don’t tell me you’re feeling scared now?”
Darlene snapped out of her thoughts and smirked confidently. “I have an offer for you, cutie.”
Yuan narrowed his eyes slightly. “Oh? And what would that be?”
“Become my slave.” She declared with a wicked grin. “I promise to keep you safe, and you’ll live a life of luxury.”
The moment those words left her lips, Yuan’s entire being froze.
His expression darkened, his gaze turning ice-cold. His fingers twitched slightly—whether from anger or disbelief, even he wasn’t sure.
Then, his voice rang out, bone-chilling and laced with unrestrained fury.
“What did you just say? Slave? Are you out of your damn mind, woman?”
The temperature in the air seemed to drop as an overwhelming, invisible pressure filled the space around them. Darlene and her subordinates felt an unnatural chill crawl up their spines.
Despite the sudden wave of fear gripping her, Darlene maintained her smug grin. After all, she was the proud Fifth Commander of the Golden Skull Organization. Showing weakness was not an option.
‘My instincts are screaming at me to run… Just how strong is this man? And why can’t I sense any Mana from him if he’s really that powerful?’
She couldn’t understand it. Yuan was levitating before her, yet there wasn’t a single trace of Mana emanating from his body. It made no sense.
Her mind wavered between two conflicting thoughts.
‘I should stay far away from him…’
‘No, that’s ridiculous. If he has no Mana, then he’s weak. He must be nothing more than a pathetic fraud!’
Darlene scowled, pushing aside her lingering doubts.
“Are you refusing my offer? Do you even realize whose generosity you just turned down?!”
Her face turned red with anger, unable to believe that someone—anyone—would reject her magnanimous proposal.
“Do I look like an idiot to you? Why the hell would I accept such a ridiculous offer?” Yuan scoffed, his gaze filled with utter disdain.
The moment those words left his mouth, Darlene snapped. Her anger boiled over, her patience completely shattered.
“Y-Yo-You bastard! How dare you humiliate me so openly?!” she roared, her eyes burning with hatred.
Never in her life had a man rejected her—let alone in such a blatant, dismissive manner. With just a few words, she could have any man she desired, her beauty and charm enough to make them fall at her feet. And yet… this handsome man had the audacity to refuse her without a second thought.
‘How dare he reject me?! Just because he’s ridiculously handsome, he thinks he’s above me?! I’ll make him suffer—I’ll skin him alive!’
Seething with fury, Darlene’s magic power erupted from her body, sending violent shockwaves across the stadium.
Boom!
The sheer pressure forced many to their knees, their bodies trembling under its overwhelming force. The weaker ones gasped for air, struggling to remain conscious.
“D-Damn it! This pressure is too much!” someone cried out as agonized screams filled the air. It felt as if an invisible mountain had been dropped onto their shoulders.
Then, a wicked idea sparked in Darlene’s mind. Her lips curled into a cruel grin as she turned her gaze back to Yuan.
“I’ll give you one last chance, cutie.” Her voice dripped with malice. “Accept my offer, or I’ll turn this entire city into dust.”
Yuan’s expression remained unreadable as he stared at her.
“Are you threatening me?” His voice was chillingly calm.
Darlene chuckled darkly. “Think of it however you want. But remember—your answer will determine the fate of everyone here. Choose wisely.”
For a brief moment, silence filled the air.
Then, Yuan sighed and shook his head.
“A threat, huh?” He muttered before lifting his gaze, his once calm eyes now filled with pure, murderous intent.
“Do you really think I care about these people? Do I look like a saint to you?”
A wide, vicious grin spread across his face.
“Go ahead. Kill as many as you want. My answer will remain the same.”
Darlene froze, her smirk faltering for the first time.
But Yuan wasn’t done. His grin widened, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper.
“However… don’t think for a second that I’ll let you off easy.”
A suffocating aura of killing intent exploded from his body, locking onto Darlene and her subordinates.
The moment they felt it, their bodies went cold. It was as if death itself was standing before them, ready to claim their souls.
Their legs gave out beneath them, and they trembled uncontrollably, their arrogant confidence shattering into sheer terror.
‘What the hell is going on?! Why do I feel like I’m about to die?!’
Darlene’s mind screamed in panic. Her heart pounded so violently in her chest that she could hear it ringing in her ears.
Yuan hadn’t even moved—yet his mere presence made her body tremble with an overwhelming sense of doom.
‘This… This is impossible! What kind of monster is he?!’
Her rage burned even hotter, fueled by the sheer humiliation she was experiencing. This wasn’t just a disgrace to her—it was an insult to the entire Golden Skull organization.
As the Fifth Commander, she had a reputation to uphold. She clenched her fists, forcing herself to remain standing, her subordinates struggling to do the same.
“Forget keeping him alive! Kill him now!”
She roared, her fury reaching its peak. Without hesitation, she extended her hand, magic crackling around her.
“Dark Lightning of Chaos! Destroy this insolent brat for me!”
Boom! Boom!
Massive bolts of black lightning tore through the sky, striking toward Yuan with devastating force. The ground trembled as explosions erupted in rapid succession.
But…
Yuan barely even acknowledged the attack.
With effortless grace, he dodged each strike, moving through the air like a ghost, his speed almost casual. Every deadly bolt missed him by mere inches, yet he never seemed the least bit concerned.
The five masked subordinates sprang into action, drawing their weapons from their magic pouches and launching coordinated strikes at him.
Yet…
Since Yuan was flying, their attacks never reached him.
Frustration quickly set in.
“Damn it! Stop dodging our attacks and fight us like a real man should!”
One of the masked figures yelled, his voice laced with frustration.
“You coward! Come down and fight us!” Another bellowed, enraged by Yuan’s effortless evasion.
Yuan’s expression shifted.
Annoyance flickered in his golden eyes as he looked down at them with utter disdain.
Did they think he was afraid of them?
How laughable.
If he wanted to, he could erase them with a single attack. The only reason they were still breathing was because he allowed it.
But Darlene…
Her fate had been sealed the moment she dared to utter those words—become my slave.
It didn’t matter that she was a woman. She was an enemy. More than that, she was a commander of the Golden Skull organization—one of the very people who had been making trouble for him all this time.
She would die.
His lips curled into a grin—sharp, predatory, and laced with dangerous amusement.
“Hmm… You’re right.”
His voice was eerily calm as he gazed at the struggling warriors below.
“Why am I wasting my time dodging your pathetic attacks when I could just destroy you all?”
With that, Yuan suddenly descended.
BOOM!
The ground shattered beneath his feet as he landed, sending a powerful shockwave outward. Dust and debris exploded into the air, engulfing the battlefield.
The air grew heavy.
And as the dust began to clear…
The true battle was about to begin.
“Don’t you dare look down on us, you bastard! We’re proud members of the Golden Skull organization!”
One of the masked subordinates roared, his voice trembling with rage. His magic power erupted, sending a shockwave through the air as he prepared to attack.
Darlene’s fury boiled over.
“I’m going to kill you now! Die, you insolent fool!”
Her hands crackled with raw, destructive energy, and with a furious shout, she unleashed her most devastating spell—Dark Lightning Cataclysm.
A massive sphere of black lightning burst forth from her hands, surging toward Yuan with terrifying force.
Boom!
The sky darkened as the colossal ball of crackling energy expanded, growing larger and larger until it completely engulfed the entire stadium.
The sheer scale of the attack sent waves of panic through the crowd.
“This is the end for us…” someone muttered in despair, their voice barely a whisper.
“That thing… it’s going to kill us all!”
Fear spread like wildfire as the spectators trembled, watching helplessly as the massive sphere of lightning loomed overhead.
Yet…
Yuan stood completely still.
He wasn’t impressed.
He wasn’t even slightly concerned.
Instead, he simply stared at the incoming attack with an almost bored expression, as if he were watching a child throw a tantrum.
‘I should stop wasting my time and get back to Aunt Aisha before my lamb skewers get cold.’
With that simple thought, Yuan made his move.
A gleam of blue light flickered around his hand as he casually reached into his system storage—and in an instant, a sword materialized in his grasp.
The Empyreal Oblivion.
The very air trembled as the blade hummed with power, vibrating in excitement, as though it had been starving for battle.
Yuan chuckled softly, running his fingers along the cold steel before turning his gaze toward Darlene and her five subordinates.
The moment Darlene laid eyes on the sword, a violent shudder ran down her spine.
‘W-What the hell is that sword?!’
Goosebumps spread across her skin as an unnatural chill crawled up her body. Sweat dripped down her forehead. She didn’t know why… but something inside her screamed RUN.
But before she could react—
Yuan vanished.
“One Sword One Strike.”
His voice echoed like a death sentence.
A single blue arc of pure sword energy slashed through the sky, its radiance illuminating the battlefield like a second sun.
The moment it made contact—
BOOM!
A deafening explosion rocked the heavens.
The massive lightning sphere split apart, torn cleanly in two before it detonated, sending shockwaves that shook the entire stadium. The force of the explosion cleared the sky, dispersing the storm clouds in an instant.
As the dust settled, Yuan lowered his sword and exhaled softly.
Then, his golden eyes locked onto Darlene and her trembling subordinates.
And with a voice colder than death itself, he declared—
“You’re next.”
