There was a clear panic in Cooper’s voice, and if the words had come from anyone else, then maybe Lou would have ignored them. None of it was making sense, they had come in through the front entrance just fine.
They had scouted the area and saw nothing and Pluto had even scouted the area ahead, Pluto’s body was found in the garden, so wouldn’t the dangerous area be inside and not outside.
When Cooper raised his voice, he looked left and right, as if he was also cautious of others hearing as well, so it was quite clear that he was worried about something on the inside as well.
Joy had already began to move, and gestured for the others to follow her. They ventured deeper into the greenery while heading back to the main entrance, but were making sure to walk along the edge, the glass of the outside walls which was coated green, was only a few meters away to their right side.
“These Gardens were meant to be a safe spot.” Cooper started to explain. “For us to meet up with Edvard, Ozacas and Roland. We knew that they would have placed some people on the inside of the gardens, a token number.
“In order to have some control, but because we already got rid of the Ironfang’s here, they wouldn’t be able to gather a large group of their people. Your mission was two fold, to bring us more equipment, back up, and at the same time, take out the fodder that would be guarding these places.
“Only there was an update that I managed to received from Edvard and the others. They had moved, three of the Ironfang’s from the back, to these three unoccupied gardens. It was a little too late before we received the message, we were already inside here when he heard it.
“They had predicted our backup plan somehow, or maybe even got wind of what we were trying to do. They had set up a clever trap. There still isn’t a large amount of them inside the Gardens, but the Ironfang’s are here.”
So far everything that was said wasn’t outside Lou’s prediction, but he was wondering why were they heading to inform the outside walking fast, yet slowly at the same time covering their tracks.
“Two things, first where are all of the other Hunters In Ruin City. The way your talking it makes it sound like you guys are the only ones that are in the city left.” Lou asked.
There was almost silence from Cooper and Joy, which somewhat foretold his prediction. When they had arranged for back up to arrive, they weren’t the only hunters left, but with the situation as it was now.
They wanted to retreat, if that was even possible which Cooper wasn’t so sure about anymore. If they knew, would they turn back.’
“So, with what your saying as well, the Ironfang’s are in the Garden now, is that why were being cautious, and if they’ve moved to every one of the Garden’s that means all of the others are going to have trouble as well.”
“Correct.” Joy answered. “Right now, an Ironfang is right here in this garden, we’ve been trying to find the best way to take them out. Inside the bitonic Garden there is surveillance cameras set up everywhere.
“If we could track his movement, then we would be able to set up a plan to take him out easier. We had a scuffle with the Ironfang leader in here, they’re strong, and I’m not too sure what the outcome would be if we were to fight till the end, which is why we devised this plan.”
“Wait, then with all of us, shouldn’t we be able to take out the Irongfang leader together?” A hunter asked. “If you guys were able to do okay, then we should be fine with all of us right?”
“Idiot.” Lou scolded the hunter immediately. “You’re forgetting one important point in all of this. Pluto, he’s worth is more then all of us here, and I have a feeling that Cooper and Joy knew that he was in here. If they felt like they could have gone up against the Ironfang together, then they would of had a better chance teaming up with him.”
Once again there was a moment of silence before, cooper finally answered.
“When we originally discovered the Ironfang was inside, our first thought was to get out of here, and meet up with Edvard and the others. We tried to get out of here…but we couldn’t there’s something outside that was stopping us.
“Out of being outside, or inside, the situation is a lot better to be inside.”
“Wait a minute.” An altered hunter said. “I’m confused, isn’t the Ironfang inside?”
Cooper gulped before giving an answer.
“Exactly, what’s outside is far more dangerous, we have to go out, and bring in the equipment as soon as possible. Everyone who can fight, is in here now right? IF they are to meet with him on the outside, then none of them have a chance of surviving.”
——
Right outside of the garden, Austin was yawning away as they were waiting for those inside. It had been about thirty minutes, so they still had some time before they needed to worry.
Until, one of the members picked up something.
“Hey over there in the car park, can you guys see that?” One of the hunters asked.
The others quickly looked in the same direction. Where they could see it a man walking over, with a tightly fitted dress shirt on, the top of the buttons were undone. He had black hair that looked somewhat swept back, but it was wild still as if it couldn’t be kept contained.
The hair went down past his shoulder blades, and he was just carefully walking toward them, but it was Austin who immediately had gotten up, and walked slightly looking at the man. He had never seen this man before, but he immediately knew who it was.
“I never thought…I would be the first to run into him, Lupus himself.” Austin commented.
