One Piece: Don't Worry, I'm a Doctor

Chapter 288: Chapter 288: Uncle: Please don’t show up…

Vir Left.

No joke.

He was really gone.

All that remained were these unlucky brothers-in-misfortune, gathered in the cell for an impromptu meeting.

But at least he left behind his lounge chair, beer, and ice cubes.

As for the air conditioning? Once he left, the power was cut.

Not long after Vir departed, Magellan realized he could move his body again.

He opened his eyes, taking a moment to steady himself.

The searing pain from below made itself known.

He glared furiously at Hannyabal.

“What are you staring at? Even if I hadn’t done it, plenty of other Hannyabals would have!”

But Hannyabal completely ignored him.

And honestly, there wasn’t a single flaw in that logic.

Magellan was left speechless.

Time was of the essence now.

He didn’t have the luxury to dwell on this.

“You—call the World Government for backup! That guy is way out of our league!”

“Send a few men down to Level 6! If that bastard heads there, release Shiryu to buy us some time!”

“The rest of you—come with me! Let’s see what the hell Blackbeard is up to!”

Magellan’s face was twisted with rage.

His fury was barely contained.

Vir alone had already been a massive headache.

And now, of all times, Blackbeard had to show up and stir trouble.

That just piled annoyance on top of annoyance.

’Damn it!’

’Just wait till I beat the shit out of you!’

’I may not be able to handle him, but you? You’re dead!’

Magellan and his men quickly made their way toward Level 1.

Hannyabal, meanwhile, scrambled to call for reinforcements.

The Government agreed to send CP agents for support.

Impel Down was, after all, under the direct jurisdiction of the World Government.

With the Marines tied up elsewhere, the only option was to dispatch CP officers stationed in Mary Geoise.

Meanwhile, inside the elevator, Magellan’s furious expression had faded.

In its place was pure bewilderment.

He realized something—his stomach was actually… fine?

Normally, it would gurgle nonstop.

But now, there wasn’t a single sound.

This was as shocking as the world suddenly ending.

From the moment he ate his Devil Fruit until now, his stomach had never stopped rumbling.

Yet now, it was silent.

He couldn’t help but think back to the bizarre treatment from earlier.

Could it be…?

Had that guy actually cured his diarrhea?

The thought didn’t bring him joy—instead, he was stunned.

A three-second antidote, a three-second burn cure, and now three rounds of whatever that was, and his chronic stomach issues were gone?

That was a side effect unique to the Venom-Venom Fruit!

The kind where doctors just shrug and tell you to buy a better toilet.

But now you’re saying it took less than five minutes to fix?

The first two “three-second” miracles were already hard to believe.

But this? Curing a core side effect of a Devil Fruit?

That’s like saying a Devil Fruit user can swim in the sea!

How could any doctor possibly fix that?

This doctor… isn’t he a bit too weird?

A quack shouldn’t be this quacky, right?

The treatment process was wild and brutal.

The speed was downright inhuman.

And the results? Completely defied all logic!

And they were enemies!

He didn’t even charge a fee!

He just fixed him up—poof, good as new!

That’s a Devil Fruit side effect, man!

Do you even realize how insane this is?!

Magellan was utterly dumbfounded.

Vir’s insane medical skills, combined with his baffling choice of patients, left Magellan completely stupefied.

He was even starting to wonder if he and Vir were secretly distant relatives or something.

Because this was too big of a favor.

Why would a pirate help the warden of Impel Down?

Magellan couldn’t make sense of it.

“Just pretend those four aren’t there…”

Meanwhile, Hannyabal, armed with his trident and leading a squad of jailer beasts, was ready to finish off Luffy and the others in their cell.

But now, staring at the Den Den Mushi displaying Magellan’s face, he was confused.

Before he could even ask, the call ended.

Hannyabal was left scratching his head.

Just let them go?

Aren’t they with the guy who nearly killed you?

Not only spare them, but pretend they don’t exist?

This made zero sense to him.

But Magellan’s tone hadn’t been joking. He could tell that much.

“Well, if you say so…”

Might as well save the effort.

With that, Hannyabal turned and left.

Leaving behind Buggy and the others in the cell, their brains fried from sheer confusion.

What the hell was going on today?!

Everything that had happened was just too bizarre!

Back in the elevator, Magellan wore a complicated expression.

And if just curing his diarrhea had him like this…

Wait till he realized his strength had improved too.

He might just kneel before Vir in gratitude…

Marineford.

The Plaza.

A force of 100,000 Marines stood ready.

All of them braced for the brutal battle ahead.

The three Admirals sat at the center.

But their demeanors varied greatly.

Aokiji and Akainu were stern but composed.

Kizaru, however?

Unlike in the original timeline—where he was relaxed, even trimming his nails—now, he was slightly tense.

Only one thought ran through his mind:

’Don’t come, Golden Lion… Please don’t show up…’

That’s right. If Shiki didn’t show up, Kizaru could go back to being his usual lazy self.

Sengoku: “Kizaru, why aren’t you fighting?!”

Kizaru (sipping tea, legs crossed, utterly relaxed): “I’m keeping an eye out for Shiki~”

Whether or not the Golden Lion appeared would make all the difference.

Behind them stood the execution platform, where Fleet Admiral Sengoku surveyed the battlefield.

His sharp eyes scanned every formation, ensuring no flaws in their defenses.

At the edge of the bay, the first line of defense loomed—several towering figures.

The Shichibukai.

Doflamingo stood with his hands in his pockets, but unlike in the original timeline, he wasn’t nearly as carefree.

In fact, none of the Warlords were.

If things went south, they wouldn’t hesitate to bail.

A “journey of freedom”, so to speak.

Kuma, though outwardly unchanged, had a vacant look behind his glasses.

Bonney, watching the broadcast from Amazon Lily, immediately noticed something was off.

Despite the lack of close-ups, just that fleeting glimpse of Kuma was enough.

She only cared about him.

And what she sensed was…

He wasn’t himself.

Her bright eyes dimmed.

A deep sadness welled up within her.

Boa Hancock, meanwhile, was probably the most relaxed person present.

All she cared about was seeing her beloved.

War?

She couldn’t care less.

Just then, Sengoku—his face grim—received a call.

“What? That brat went to Impel Down?!”

“WHAT?! He took down Magellan with one slash?!”

His voice boomed unintentionally.

Every nearby Admiral and Vice Admiral turned to look.

Sengoku’s face was dark with fury as he gripped the Den Den Mushi.

Even through the screen, his rage was palpable.
