Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 704 - 704: First Contact [Bonus]

After the Chaos Flame reached Tier 6, Kent decided to leave. His aim was Tier 7, but it would take some time before he could get enough spirit flames to upgrade his flame.

This meant that if he wanted to first reach Tier 7 before leaving, he might be too late to get to Elarion.

So he placed a pin in his hunting now, knowing he would come back soon enough to continue his hunt. For now, getting back to his mission was the priority.

Kent started carving his way through the Valley. On his way, he encountered some dangerous flame-type beasts, even managing to kill one that possessed a spirit flame.

Kent managed to get his soul flame stronger yet again while he moved through the core section of the valley. The Flame Valley is vast and filled with danger, but since he wasn’t there to hunt to his heart’s content, his movement was in a straight line.

But that was enough to get him some spirit flames. The next Tier would be determined based on how long he would be staying in the domain of fire.

“Looks like I have reached the inner section on the other side.” After three hours of moving, Kent came to a stop when he felt the air lose considerable heat. It was easy to determine he had left the core region.

“So I have to move toward the right side of the Northern region, which will take me to Elarion.” After making up his mind, Kent started moving yet again, this time toward the kingdom of the Half-Elves.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the inner section of Flame Valley, where Kent was currently located, three Half-Elves were engaged in a life-or-death battle with a Core Formation-stage flame beast.

The beast was a hideous-looking spider with long metallic legs and glowing red skin. Its eyes burned with furious energy. And judging by the green flame around it, the spider clearly had a flame spirit.

“Cyran, circle around it and don’t let the flame touch you; it is poisonous… aim for its eyes.” A dark-haired half-elf wielding a spear shouted, commanding his teammate on what to do.

Cyran, a blonde, handsome half-elf, did as he was told, moving across the battlefield as he aimed his arrows at the eyes of the spider, just like he was told. However, no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t get an arrow through.

“Arion, I don’t think we can get through its defense. This beast looks like it has the skin of metal,” Cyran said, frustration evident in his eyes.

Arion, the dark-haired spearman, stabbed his spear into the ground, raising the very earth the spider stood on, trying to knock it to the side, but the spider easily evaded, rendering the attack useless.

But it wasn’t for nothing. The moment the spider landed on the ground, the ground gave way, and four of its legs started to sink into the earth.

The moment they entered, the ground hardened, trapping the four legs… but it can be trapped only for a second, considering the hardening wasn’t strong enough to make a difference.

However, it was long enough for the third teammate, a dark-haired young lady, to cast a spell, manifesting a thick bolt of lightning that descended on the spider, landing square on its back.

The bolt knocked the spider off its many feet, giving Cyran the shot he had been waiting for. An arrow appeared on his bow, and with a quick pull, the arrow left the string.

It was a good shot; however, it didn’t reach the spider. Just when the spider was about to lose one eye—a wound that would have cost it its life—a different beast arrived, deflecting the arrow.

“What… the Blistering Ant.” Arion, the leader of the team, recognized the new arrival, causing his eyes to widen.

“Helyra, what’s up?” Before Arion could respond, he heard Cyran shout at their female mage teammate. Thankfully, Helyra’s reaction speed was quick enough, and she evaded an attack from the third beast, a Firetail Scorpion.

“Firetail Scorpion.” The grim look on Cyran’s face gave way to fear.

Three of the most powerful beasts within the inner region of the Flame Valley now surrounded them on three sides, and the more harrowing thing was that the three were allies.

Inside the Flame Region, most beasts team up if they want to have a shot at survival. These flame beasts may be more like monsters, lacking sentience like most beastkin, but when it comes to survival, they know best.

So, they are a team; they hunt together, and now they have caught three mortals within an inescapable ring.

The Blistering Ant was a giant ant with a fiery stinger and a hardened, heat-resistant shell. It looked even more terrifying than the spider. Black flames surrounded its body, indicating it also possessed a spirit flame.

The Firetail Scorpion also has a red flame surrounding its body, indicating that it possesses a spirit flame as well. It had a rather large and long tail ignited in flames as it eyed Helyra.

Cyran was also locked in a stare-down with the spider, while Arion found himself gazing into the deadly eyes of the Blistering Ant.

All three half-elves wore fearful expressions because, despite being at the Core Formation stage, the three beasts had already refined their cores five times, while Cyran and Helyra refined theirs once, and Arion twice.

The gap in strength was just too wide to handle such monstrosities on their own. If anything, they should be running now. However, escaping would be hard…

The three beasts created a net around the three half-elves. This was their hunting strategy, and it had worked not once, but dozens of times. Today, too, they were about to feast on the bodies of the three half-elves.

“Arion, what should we do?” Helyra asked, tears falling down her cheeks. “I don’t want to die… I can’t die just yet.” It was plain that her death would destroy many who were waiting for her return.

Arion, the leader of the team, tightened his grip on his spear. He didn’t want to die either—not when he still had more years to live. But as it turned out, fighting four realms above them wasn’t plausible—not at their level.

All hope was lost, and they were aware of it. But they didn’t want to die. However, just as their souls were about to give up on them, a lazy voice entered their ears.

“Do you guys need help?”
