Chapter 940: Stat Reveal
“Mine mine mine mine mine mine mine…!” she chanted fiercely into his ear.
Quinlan laughed, deep and warm, arms wrapping around her instinctively as if they’d been waiting for this very moment.
“Welcome home, Vex.”
Vex didn’t waste another heartbeat.
She grabbed his face with both hands, tilted his chin up, and outright devoured his lips with a kiss that could’ve set fire to the realm itself.
There was nothing shy about it. No hesitation, no restraint. Her tongue parted his lips with demanding need, curling around his like she meant to taste every corner of the soul she’d missed. Her hips instantly began grinding against him, locked around his waist, her body practically melting into his as their mouths danced.
It wasn’t just a kiss: it was claiming, from one yandere to her chosen prey.
From one yandere… to another.
Because as much as Vex clawed and melted into him with wild, all-consuming hunger, Quinlan’s arms were just as fierce, just as possessive.
He didn’t hold her like a mere lover.
No. He held her like a man who had just reclaimed something that had been stolen from him by the very universe itself. He resembled a dragon curled around his treasure, daring the heavens to take it again.
His fingers dug into her tender buttcheeks with absolute insistence. They gripped her skin like iron, signaling he would never let go.
His mouth moved with hers in perfect rhythm, but even that felt like dominance: ’This woman is mine!’ that kiss declared.
And when she ground against him, instead of retreating or laughing, he pushed back, his entire frame tense with restraint, the only thing stopping him from devouring her right then and there was the fact he had things to do before doing so.
His magic flared around them unconsciously, coiling like chains of elemental force. But they didn’t bind Vex. Instead, they warded off the world.
Because in that moment, Quinlan didn’t just want her.
He claimed her, right back.
No… reclaimed.
His. His Vex. His chaos. His hurricane in human form.
He’d burn the universe itself to keep her close.
They were each other’s madness. And neither was letting go.
When they finally parted after many long minutes of interlocked tongues, her breath came in warm puffs against his lips. Her cheeks were flushed, her pupils still wide and wild.
Then she blinked, and in the cutest, most absurd contrast to the heat of the moment, tilted her head, an innocent expression replacing her overly needy one.
“Wait… how come you can [Subjugate] me now? You couldn’t before. The level gap was way too big. And you only gained one level from that Primordial Trial, didn’t you?” she asked with a tiny pout as her lashes fluttered before leaning in again, nose brushing against his.
“You didn’t… really get that much stronger, right~? Or did my handsome hubby truly turn into someone so terrifying while I wasn’t looking?”
Quinlan said nothing.
He simply smirked.
Then, with a slap on her butt for dramatic effect, he materialized the System Window, a semi-transparent blue interface that shimmered with layered data.
Vex’s eyes locked onto it.
And widened.
“…No fucking way.”
[Name: Quinlan Elysiar]
[Race: Primordial]
[Level: 39 ➣ 40. XP 1,280/2,778,374]
[Health Points: 1519 ➣ 1913]
[Mana Points: 2925 ➣ 3319]
[Vitality: 101 ➣ 128]
[Strength: 93 ➣ 125]
[Agility: 106 ➣ 133]
[Magic: 195 ➣ 221]
Vex’s stunned silence lasted only a breath before it turned into a delighted giggle. And then, she lunged forward again.
The system window hovering in the air? She passed straight through it like it didn’t even exist, slamming her lips back onto Quinlan’s in a second, resuming the fierce tango of tongues.
Their kiss deepened with no hesitation, no pause, no moment of doubt.
To Vex, it didn’t matter what shape Quinlan took. Whether he was man or monster, gentle or cruel, serene or wrathful, it was all him. All her beloved. Her obsession. Her soulmate. The one being her existence had fixated on with unwavering ferocity.
The fact that he had somehow—impossibly—become a terrifying powerhouse in such a short span of time didn’t frighten her. It thrilled her. Sent shivers down her spine and made heat coil low in her womb.
She couldn’t even comprehend what he’d done. Stats that soared beyond reason? His elemental aura warped and amplified, his mere presence more tangible than gravity itself?
It only made him hotter.
Monstrously hotter.
Her mortal mind couldn’t grasp how he’d done it, but she didn’t need to. She clung to him as if her life depended on it, high off the very existence of him. Her mind barely registered anything else.
Meanwhile, Feng opened her own status window to compare.
Her mouth twisted into a grimace.
“… I need to take this world very seriously from now on…” she muttered under her breath, feeling utterly dwarfed by the sheer power standing next to her.
Ayame scoffed with a sideways glance sent right at her man, who was busy unapologetically eating his eighth lover up in front of all of them. “Seriously? This guy was already cheating before. Now he’s just… ugh!” Her voice cracked with disbelief. “He got so much more ridiculous!”
Lucille, arms crossed under her delicate chest, gave a big grin. “No wonder he felt different the second we saw him again! Those elemental eyes? That aura?” She tilted her head. “Visual changes always follow real ones. That’s what this is. Quin’s existence itself has evolved, and the exterior changes signal that.”
Blossom, predictably, didn’t care for numbers. She was already jumping up onto Quinlan’s back, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind since his front was occupied. “Master is the greatest in the entire universe! No one better! Blossom loves Master!!”
With a wagging tail and glowing eyes, she placed a loving flurry of kisses on the back of his neck. Quinlan just laughed, deep in his throat, caught between the love of two very different women.
Seraphiel, for her part, sighed with a lopsided smile. “I knew he’d become more overpowered… but these numbers?”
She whistled. “It’s a bit too much, even for Mister Unfairly Overpowered, isn’t it…?”
Aurora, meanwhile, blinked multiple times, still trying to wrap her mind around what the system window was showing her. She rubbed her temple as she muttered mental equations under her breath. “Okay, Vitality went from 101 to 128… that’s +27. Strength jumped from 93 to 125… +32. Agility rose by +27, and Magic by +26…”
Her lips twitched as she tallied the numbers.
“…That’s a total stat gain of 112 points. From a single level-up.”
Silence blanketed the clearing. Well, from the ladies who were actually paying attention to her analysis. Some were not quite in the mood for math equations. From them, loud and wet kissing sounds could be heard.
Aurora swallowed before she continued.
“Considering that we get 10 points total per level… that’s the equivalent of eleven full level-ups’ worth of stat gain in one go.”
Her voice was nearly a whisper now.
“From a single level-up…”
Her face paled even further before she added: “And thanks to the Primordial Villain class’s 25% increase to all stats, Quin was already way ahead of his level before today. He was probably mid-40s upon reaching level 39… Which means, he’s already closing in on being the equivalent of a level 60 mortal…”
