"Damn… Uncle Wolf?"
Upon seeing the figure being pinned to the ground and beaten not far away, Fang Mo cried out in shock.
Without any unnecessary words, Fang Mo faced the fighting ring tightly surrounded by barbed wire and immediately activated the gravitational field with a raise of his hand.
Countless pieces of wood, metal, and even a dim chandelier hanging in mid-air were instantly uprooted, torn apart, and flung towards the surrounding crowd. The initial cheers quickly turned into terrified screams as everyone scattered in panic.
"…Ugh!"
Following Fang Mo was a timid dog who, clearly frightened, took a step back, not understanding why his master suddenly became angry.
"What the hell is this!?"
Inside the ring, the bald brute who was beating up Uncle Wolf also jumped in surprise.
Before he could react, he saw someone approaching him with a terrifying aura that made it hard for him to breathe. His mind went blank for a moment.
"Wait, I…"Before the bald brute could speak, Fang Mo grabbed him by the neck with one hand and flung him behind like throwing away trash.
A series of crashing sounds followed.
"Hey, Uncle Wolf."
After dealing with the brute, Fang Mo immediately squatted down and patted Uncle Wolf, also known as Wolverine Logan, on the shoulder. "Are you okay? How did you end up getting beaten?"
At this point, Fang Mo also pondered the current timeline.
Normally, Logan, being a battle-hardened mutant, shouldn't be easily beaten by an ordinary person.
From memory, the only timeline where Logan suffered a defeat was in "Logan."
In that timeline, humans developed an anti-X gene drug and secretly released it worldwide. Ordinary people were unaffected, but mutants gradually lost their X genes, leading to a loss of their superpowers.
This drug was globally distributed, making it almost impossible for mutants to avoid.
In the end, Professor X Charles developed dementia, Logan's regenerative abilities nearly vanished, and under the government's scheme, Charles was killed by Logan's clone. Logan also sacrificed himself in the end, marking the most tragic conclusion in the X-Men series.
"Damn, could this really be the 'Logan' timeline?"
Thinking of this, Fang Mo couldn't help but mutter, "If it is, don't blame me for using Planetary Devastation… huh?"
Just as he was speaking, Fang Mo suddenly froze.
He noticed that Logan slowly turned his head, looking at him with a cold, confused, and wary gaze, like a lone wolf.
"Huh?"
Seeing this, Fang Mo was momentarily stunned. Did Logan not recognize him? Moreover, Logan's appearance seemed quite young, not fitting the 'Logan' timeline.
Before Fang Mo could say anything, Logan suddenly sprang up, roaring like a beast, and punched towards Fang Mo's face.
Fang Mo didn't dodge, and the punch landed squarely on his face.
However, Fang Mo's skin was incredibly tough.
His entire body was covered with a layer of crystal matrix armor, and Logan's punch produced a clear metallic sound, as if striking solid metal.
"???"
Logan, seeing this, was slightly taken aback.
He looked at his fist, then at Fang Mo's face, puzzled.
Logan knew that his bones had been replaced with a strange metal, making them incredibly tough. His punch, which usually could crack skulls, was taken head-on by this guy's face?
"What… are you?"
Logan asked, frowning deeply.
"You don't recognize me, do you?"
Fang Mo nodded, realizing this wasn't the 'Logan' timeline. He then pretended to be excited and said, "Oh, Logan… I'm your good friend Wade!"
"Wade?"
Logan frowned again, trying to remember.
Unfortunately, he couldn't recall anything, so after a moment of silence, he asked, "You know me?"
"Of course."
Fang Mo confidently nodded, "Our names echoed across Europe back then. If I remember correctly, Raven gave us those nicknames. She called you Wolverine, Raven was Mystique, Erik was Magneto, and Charles… we called him Wheelchair Man, haha!"
"Wolverine…"
Upon hearing this word, Logan felt as if his thoughts had indeed been stirred.
Ever since he woke up in the ruins over a decade ago, all his memories had vanished. The only thing accompanying him was a tag hanging on his chest, inscribed with the word "Wolverine." Logan had never known the meaning of this word, but the person in front of him seemed to know something about it.
"You said we used to be friends."
After thinking for a moment, Logan asked, "So... what is your title?"
"Uh, it seems to be something related to God."
Hearing this, Fang Mo suddenly felt a bit tongue-tied. After all, it had been a long time since he joined the X-Men, and many of his memories had become blurred: "What was it? Primordial God? No, that's not right..."
"Hmm?"
Seeing Fang Mo suddenly fall into deep thought, Logan frowned, seeming to become wary again: "Are you deceiving me?"
"Hey, why would I deceive you?"
Hearing this, Fang Mo immediately became anxious and slapped his forehead: "Oh right, I remember now, you used to call me Jesus... That's right! I am Jesus!"
"..."
Logan was at a loss for words.
"...ugh."
Even the small dog not far from Fang Mo couldn't bear to look, covering its forehead with its front paw. It never expected its master to say something like this. Surely, the person opposite wouldn't believe its master now.
"Ahem, this is true."
Of course, Fang Mo noticed Logan's skepticism and started performing on the spot.
He raised his hand for Logan to see, then suddenly flipped it as if performing magic. A small yellow gold nugget appeared between his index and middle fingers, and then it suddenly disappeared, replaced by a large gold brick in his hand.
As Logan was a bit surprised, Fang Mo flipped his hand again, making the gold brick vanish. He then flicked a small gold nugget towards Logan, who instinctively caught it and bit it, confirming it was real gold, and couldn't help but be amazed.
"So your mutant ability is to create gold?"
Logan couldn't help but say, "Then they should call you Gold Mine or Gold Vault..."
"No, no, no, you've misunderstood." Fang Mo shook his head, then pointed into the distance. A massive gravitational field suddenly flipped an outer wall violently, letting in the bone-chilling wind and snow from outside: "See, my ability is not just about creating gold."
"..."
Seeing this, Logan fell silent.
He knew about mutants since they were often mentioned on TV and considered common knowledge. But truth be told, he couldn't quite understand the abilities of the person in front of him.
Generally speaking.
Mutants should have only one ability.
For example, spewing fire, teleporting, immense strength, or controlling magnetic fields.
But the guy in front of him, who called himself Wade, could create gold and had such powerful attack methods... Could it be that his mutant ability was to make his wishes come true? If so, calling himself Jesus seemed somewhat reasonable.
Yes, even though he had amnesia, Logan's thoughts were astonishingly similar to before.
Because long before Logan lost his memory, he had speculated that Fang Mo's mutant ability was omega-level, making his wishes come true.
Of course, he had clearly forgotten all this now.
"So you really know me?"
After thinking for a bit, Logan seemed to be slightly convinced.
"I really know you." Fang Mo immediately wiped his face in frustration: "I admit it was my fault for being absent for over a decade... but I didn't expect you to have amnesia when you returned."
This point was indeed true.
After all, the last time Fang Mo was here, he had altered quite a bit of the plot.
For instance, take Logan's situation. Fang Mo fed him a golden apple, which effectively enhanced him in every possible way. Despite this blatant cheat, the plot's correction was so strong that Logan inexplicably lost his memory.
"Wait... what do you mean by saying you've been shitting for over ten years?"
Logan was a bit startled upon hearing this.
He didn't quite understand, but for some reason, a strange sense of anger surged within him, as if this matter was very important to him.
"Oh, it's like this."
Fang Mo made up a story on the spot: "I'm basically Jesus, so I occasionally have to go back to Heaven to handle some official duties—helping Hitler with his wheelchair, helping Hawking to kill... Oh shoot, I said it wrong. Anyway, I have to return to Heaven periodically. Last time I went back was to welcome the man who personally killed Hitler. Do you understand now?"
"..."
Logan frowned upon hearing this and began looking at Fang Mo with suspicion.
"Sigh, actually, I didn't want to come back to Earth."
But Fang Mo became more excited as he spoke, sighing to himself: "Heaven is just too interesting. Unfortunately, I miss my friends a lot, especially you, Logan. That's why I descended again."
"But when I returned to the world, I saw crosses everywhere... and I wondered, what the heck is going on here?"
"Logan, come on, give me your opinion."
At this point, Fang Mo became righteously indignant: "If Kennedy were resurrected, would he want to see convertible cars and sniper rifles everywhere?"
"..."
Logan fell silent again upon hearing this.
He no longer doubted whether Fang Mo was lying to him, but rather, he wondered if Fang Mo was mentally ill—Logan had lost his memory, but Fang Mo seemed to have lost his mind.
"Logan, why aren't you saying anything?"
Just then, Fang Mo looked up at Logan after speaking.
"Well, I..."
"Ah!!!"
However, just as Logan started to speak, a woman's scream suddenly came from not far away. The scream was quite piercing, and instantly, both men and the dog turned their heads toward the source of the sound.
They saw a girl standing not far away.
The bald man, whose face was covered in blood, was trying to stand up. Somehow, he grabbed her shoulder, and his entire body went rigid as if electrocuted, his face turning a ghastly ashen color.
It was this strange reaction from the bald man that made the girl scream.
"Hmm?"
Unlike Logan, Fang Mo immediately recognized the girl. Her abilities and appearance were very recognizable and matched his memories: "Rogue... So this is the plot of X-Men 1?"
"Woof!"
While Fang Mo was contemplating the plot, the little dog by his side seemed unable to bear it any longer.
It barked suddenly and then ran towards Rogue, head-butting the two apart.
"Ah!"
This relieved the girl, who fell to the ground and started gasping for breath.
The next second, she heard footsteps approaching. She looked up instinctively and saw Fang Mo walking towards her with a friendly smile. Having witnessed Fang Mo's brute strength earlier, she was terrified and instinctively shrank back.
"Young lady, don't be afraid."
Knowing she was an important plot character, Fang Mo didn't make things difficult for her. Instead, he patted his dog's head and said with a smile: "Look, my dog just saved you from danger... Quickly, say thank you to the dog."
