SORCERER: I WANT TO BE AN ACADEMIC PRODIGY
Chapter 525 - 523: Are the Sparrows Behind?Chapter 525: Chapter 523: Are the Sparrows Behind?
With Blackbeard Queller defeated and the space portal dissipating, the ever-changing Black Abyss began to return to its original form, revealing its secrets ever more clearly.
“Ah, I see.”
“This Space Magic Device is rather unique. It was actually forged using the shed carapace from its own metamorphosis, skillfully blending the Power of Space with the power of earth—”
Of course, these comments were meant for President Hardy. Others simply did not possess such discernment.
“Ivan, you discovered the Black Abyss and were the first to launch an attack into it. What do you think about this Space Magic Device?”
“President, you must be joking with me. I have no thoughts on it whatsoever.”
…
Seeing President Hardy turning to ask him, Ivan quickly waved his hands. This was not his trophy; he had no right to claim it. He was already content with getting what he desired.
“That’s fine then,” President Hardy didn’t press the issue further.
“As for this Blackbeard Lord, I’ll need to trouble you, Mr. President, to seal it again for me. If there’s any material on it that others can use, feel free to take it. Just leave it with a breath of life for me.”
Ivan thought for a moment, then added.
Sorcerers often needed a variety of experiment materials. The more, the better. He stated this because one shouldn’t work for nothing.
“Hehe, we aren’t that cruel,” Philomena chuckled upon hearing his words, then her tone shifted slightly, “But Sorcerer Ivan, since you’re so generous, I won’t be too polite. I’ll reserve ten tentacles and ten bug eyes then.”
“Agreed.”
Her speech was directed at Ivan, but it was Hardy who responded.
“I’ll pass,” Hotter immediately declared.
Gerry and Inom remained silent, clearly not interested in such things.
Ivan didn’t mind; he glanced at the bottom of the deep ravine where, among the scattered remains of beast eggs, only one had survived—the very one nurtured by the Blackbeard Lord.
Despite the havoc he wreaked, he had managed to preserve it, a testament to its life force’s resilience.
He also refrained from rash actions, planning to hand it over to President Hardy for handling. It was best to avoid any unknown threats within, particularly since President Hardy intended to stay and claim the ‘Black Abyss’ Fantastic Item.
Before long, Ivan said his temporary farewells to President Hardy and his party, flew up from the bottom of the ravine to where the plaza used to be, and after taking a large detour around the Black Abyss, regrouped with Tanaya and the others in a cave.
“Ivan.”
“Sorcerer Ivan, how did it go?”
“Thanks to the timely arrival of the President and his people, the battle has ended smoothly.”
The fight inside the Black Abyss wasn’t a matter of numbers. To avoid unnecessary casualties, Ivan had stressed repeatedly to Tanaya and the rest not to approach the plaza, so they had stayed away.
Now, hearing that the battle was over, they all breathed sighs of relief.
Among Tanaya’s group, there were a few injuries, and two magic puppets had been lost in the fight, but no one had died.
This outcome was not unexpected. Ivan had practically wiped out the upper echelons of the Black God Society, drawing most of the attention, alleviating the pressure on Tanaya’s side.
However, the Silkworm Queen quickly noticed that Locke was absent, and an ominous feeling instantly surged within her.
“Ivan, Locke—”
“He has fallen into another small world and can’t return for now. We’ll have to find another way later.”
Locke’s situation was complicated. Ivan even suspected it had something to do with the Supreme Red. The Supreme Red had already fallen, yet here it was causing issues out of nowhere?
This clearly wasn’t something he, a Level 3 Sorcerer, could handle alone. He’d have to wait until he advanced to an Arcane Wizard before he could deal with it.
The prerequisite was that Locke could wait that long, or perhaps, when he returned, he would study the ‘Nether Soul Mirror’ further to see if there were other ways to revive this incarnation of Locke.
None of this was certain, so he spared the Silkworm Queen the details.
Three days flashed by.
On this day, dark clouds still shrouded the Great Black Marsh.
Ivan and his companions emerged from the tunnel they had previously dug, once again facing the oppressive vault of heaven.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, a thunderous noise tore a rift through the dense clouds in the sky, revealing the true sight within, where an airship was torn apart amidst the lightning and fire.
Ivan’s face darkened; the airship that was being destroyed was his own Lanque, now dismembered by others.
“Human scholar, today will be the day you are beheaded.”
Not only was the airship disassembled, but they were also surrounded by a multitude of the Blackscale Tribe, watching them intently from above and below, their bodies covered in black scales.
Among them were lord-level powerhouses who deigned not to step forward and speak out.
It was not hard to see that these Blackscales had been waiting for a long time, just waiting for them to come out of the Black God Abyss, then to strike like a dark bird from behind.
“What is your name?”
“Blackscale Tribe’s Blackfin, Harrison.”
“I’ll remember you.”
“Yes, I, Harrison, am the one who will kill you.”
“No, you owe me an airship.”
Faced with such an encirclement, Ivan remained unperturbed, his heart aching for the airship that had long accompanied him; the well-conditioned Lanque had been turned into fireworks, a terrible waste indeed.
“Sorcerer Ivan, there’s no need for sorrow. I’ll send you an identical bird-shaped airship later, but I’m afraid you’ll soon lose interest in it.”
The one responding to him was another voice, who arrived in a blink of an eye and stood elegantly upright, directly facing the thousands of troops of the Blackscale Tribe.
Seeing this, Harrison’s pupils shrank, and the words at his lips were swallowed back down his throat.
Another figure appeared, casually taking a place beside Philomena, it was Hotter.
“No wonder you’re so confident. Well then, today I’ll properly…”
Facing the two newly appeared Arcane Wizards, Harrison was not without support; two lord-level Blackscales stepped forward, shielding him behind them.
However, before one of the lord-level Blackscales could finish speaking, yet another powerhouse appeared.
In particular, the figure who arrived last, wearing a faint smile, caused the Blackscale’s expression to stiffen abruptly.
“Beck Beimo, long time no see. It seems you’ve grown in skill, even daring to try your luck against a sorcerer like me,” said Hardy, the last to arrive, looking up into the sky.
“Hardy Charosi, we’re not afraid of you.”
Surrounded by so many of his kind, Beck Beimo naturally wouldn’t show fear, but his words betrayed his trepidation.
“Is that so?”
“Sorcerer Hardy, what do you propose?” another Blackscale lord spoke.
“Let me ask you something. Is your Blackflag Tribe in cahoots with those rats from the gutter? Answer me truthfully, or else face the consequences.”
“Of course not. It’s the Blackfang Tribe and the Blackalgae Tribe, and I’ve heard the Thunder Tribe and the Feather Tribe are involved too. They’ve offered very tempting rewards. The Feather Tribe has already fully joined in…”
Hearing the other’s words, even if President Hardy had anticipated it, he couldn’t help but frown slightly.
The people of the Beast Plane had cultivated a traitor into a Level 6 powerhouse. If it had happened once, it could happen again, and with an obvious example before them, it was impossible for the members of other tribes not to be tempted.
However, this was developing too quickly and was greatly detrimental to the sorcerer world.
After much thought, considering the Blackfin’s backing and their location in the Great Swamp, Hardy gestured towards the Blackscale Tribe, a move that came as a pardon to Beck Beimo and his companions.
In a short while, the surrounding Blackscale Tribe had completely dispersed.
Off to the side, Ivan, unaware of what President Hardy had ultimately discussed with the opposition, watched as the president casually dismissed numerous enemies with a flick of his wrist, feeling envious at heart.
Indeed, it was a sorcerer like President Hardy who held the most awe-commanding presence!
