SORCERER: I WANT TO BE AN ACADEMIC PRODIGY

Chapter 526 - 524: Promotion to Frontend

Chapter 526: Chapter 524: Promotion to Frontend

After the Blackfin tribe left, no one dared bother Ivan and his companions again.

However, the airship had been destroyed, and they could only travel by other means, which was no trouble for them. Then, they leisurely approached Mengze City.

By the time they arrived at Mengze City, the Cloud Shuttle had also arrived, and the group boarded the airship before speeding back to East Capital East Blade City.

Shortly after returning to the East Capital, Ivan quietly left to make a special trip to the Moon Pincer Peninsula to consult someone about a matter.

“Venerable, Ivan Marichardon asks for an audience.”

“Mavis Margaret Venerable, Ivan Marichardon has come to pay his respects.”

Deep within the underground caves of Lake Nichols, Ivan stood in a simple plaza, tirelessly calling out to the Goddess statue not far away.

“Why are you here again?”

After some time, a gentle voice arose, as if from someone half-asleep.

“Leave. This deity doesn’t want to see you, a human sorcerer.”

“Venerable, I truly have an important matter to seek your help with.”

“Hmph! You haven’t even become an Arcane Wizard, and yet you have the audacity to see me, your face is truly thick.”

His persistent thick-skinned entreaties eventually brought life to the humanoid divine statue. Limited to the face, the delicately featured visage stared at him, somewhere between annoyed and fierce.

Of course, Ivan wasn’t frightened; he knew that the Spring Goddess was always tough-talking but soft-hearted and not very good at turning people away.

“You misunderstand; I haven’t even started to advance in arcane yet, and it’s still long before our hundred-year agreement—”

“Enough, enough. I don’t want to listen to your long-winded speech,” interrupted Mavis, after all, she had not recovered the power she had spent before and was not suitable for talking too much with him.

“Speak of the matter at hand.”

“Alright. There was a slight unexpected event during the encirclement and suppression of Blackwhisker Queler, and I’m not sure if it will influence my promotion to arcane. That’s why I came to consult.”

Ivan didn’t dare to delay and quickly detailed what he encountered in the small world.

The inexplicable dragon-shaped black worm that targeted himself was certainly cause for concern, and he thought it prudent to make the trip here.

“Dragon-shaped black worm?”

“Yes, it came out from a blood-colored battle banner. That couldn’t be the Supreme Red, could it?”

“That banner is the Crimson War Banner, reportedly the entire Crimson Legion has only three such banners, rather mysterious, and shouldn’t have fallen into Blackwhisker Queler’s hands.

As for that dragon-shaped black worm, rest assured, it’s definitely not any incarnation of the Venerable Crimson, but it surely has something to do with the Venerable Crimson. If I’m not wrong, it’s likely one specific thing.”

After hearing his account, Mavis also became solemn and pondered for a moment before speaking.

“What is it?” Ivan urgently inquired.

“The Crimson Will, formed by the collective will of the members of the Crimson Legion. Theoretically, since the Supreme Red has fallen and the Crimson Legion has disbanded, the Crimson Will shouldn’t have remained.”

“Does this thing have any special characteristics?”

“I don’t know.”

At the crucial moment, Mavis shook her head.

“What?” Ivan stared at her in surprise.

“The Crimson Legion did fall in the sprite plane, true, but not by my hand. How could I possibly know so much about it? Do you know everything that happens in your Danaila World?”

Mavis retorted irritably.

Ivan thought for a moment and realized she was right. Although she was a deity, she wasn’t omniscient or omnipotent; it was his mistake, and he didn’t press further.

“Alright then, I’m sorry for troubling you.”

“Wait, I’ll give you something to ensure that thing won’t interfere with your promotion.”

As Ivan turned to leave, Mavis called out to him.

He turned back around, only to find a face that would make countless women pale in comparison had already reached him, planting a kiss on the side of his lips—this was Mavis’ unique way of blessing, the “Song of Spring Dawn.”

“If you fail, you can be sure I’ll flatten you.”

After sealing the blessing with a kiss, Mavis’ charming face disappeared, leaving only a faint voice threatening in his ear.

Ivan touched his lips and gave a deep nod to the statue before turning and striding toward the entrance of the cave.

Two months later, Ivan left East Capital again.

This time, he boarded Hotter’s Thunder Dragon, bound for Truth City. President Hardy and Philomena City Lord were not present, and Ivan didn’t bring many people with him, only Janie, swamp ants, Tanaya, and Mara.

However, with Hotter, Gerry, and Inom around, and being in the sorcerer’s own territory, there wasn’t much danger to worry about.

After a long journey, the Thunder Dragon arrived smoothly at Truth City.

Truth City was the heartland of the sorcerers, and Inom’s identity as a Tree-man Guard was undoubtedly a bit troublesome.

Fortunately, with the protection of the Great Sage Hardy, he was not stopped outside the inner city of Truth City. Instead, he was allowed to follow and ascend the Peak of Truth to number 7 Sky Street in the Court of Great Scholars, within Ivan’s own Golden Rock Tower.

In fact, shortly after entering the Golden Rock Tower, Inom had hidden himself in a space carried by the Dark Moon Blade.

Ivan didn’t mind these things; he was busy preparing for his ascension to arcane wizard. The first thing to do was to transform the environment for ascension, and he chose the very bottom layer of the Golden Rock Tower.

“Boom, rumble.”

This layer had 3,000 acres of desolate land with nothing but weeds. At his command, the ground suddenly erupted with a scorching molten lava well.

Inside the well was a fiery red expanse, but no smoke was seen until the deep well spewed forth magma, and the magma began to scorch the earth.

In a flash, colorful toxic smoke rose.

After several hours, the entire bottom layer of the Golden Rock Tower had turned into a lake of molten lava. The temperature was now many times higher than before, and the density of fire-type particles was infinitely more concentrated.

“It’s done.”

“With the use of the Magma Furnace for a bit longer, this place won’t be much different from the volcanic craters in Red Dragon State. Such a world of flames provides an excellent place for sorcerers who explore fire-type energy to practice and ascend.”

Ivan stood in mid-air, looking down at the lava lake below, feeling very satisfied.

Of course, it wasn’t his own doing. It was a feature of the Golden Rock Tower itself; probably it had tapped into some powers of the Peak of Truth. He certainly didn’t have the power to change the landscape on such a large scale.

“Nice place.”

As he was reflecting, a slender figure flew in, with bright wings of Combat Energy on her back.

“Tanaya, you’re here,” Ivan said, glancing back at her.

“Here, this is a Truth Gem. The rest are all in here.” Tanaya tossed a bag towards him.

Seeing her so casual, Ivan’s eyes twitched and he quickly caught the bag made of beast hide. This was a rare treasure that sorcerers outside craved.

“Don’t worry, Truth Gems aren’t so easy to destroy,” Tanaya said with a smile.

“It’s not about whether they can be destroyed or not. We should show basic respect to such rare treasures,” Ivan explained.

“Giggles—alright then, I wish you an early success in becoming an Arcane Wizard, Ivan.”

Seeing him so seriously spouting nonsense, Tanaya laughed even more joyfully, before finally delivering her blessings.

“Of course, before long I will knock on the doors of the arcane.”

“I believe.”

Hearing Ivan’s words, Tanaya nodded solemnly and then left the world of flames. The Truth Gem had been delivered; after that, it would be up to Ivan himself.

With preparations so ample, there should be no problems at all.
