The dragon's harem

Chapter 1388 - 1388: Those Who Understand

Arad returned to Lucifer with Stella and Bella following behind him, causing the half-angel to freeze. “Aren’t those Ward’s daughters?”

“Ah, old man Lucifer. Hayo,” Bella waved her hand, and Stella hid behind Arad.

“We’ve finally managed to get him to let us out. You aren’t sending us back.”

Those might not be as strong as their father, but that didn’t mean that Lucifer didn’t hear any crazy stories about them. They were the daughters of two of the most powerful people in his kingdom, after all.

First, while they suck at fighting, their transfiguration magic can mend and shapeshift any object into whatever they want.

Bella was known as a troublemaker most of her life, while Stella was just infamous for being too lazy while still scoring high in everything she did.

What Arad didn’t know is that while Stella never participated in the archery competition, her arrows are known to hold the power of a real cupid. One hit and it’ll force the person to fall in love with anyone she wants.

“Just, don’t let your guard down around them.” Lucifer sighed, “I’ll deal with all the papers as I promised. This should conclude everything here, but please feel free to rest here as long as you want.”

Arad looked at Lucifer with a smile, “I still have to visit Gabriel.”

“That’s old fool can wait.” He smiled and headed inside, letting Arad return to his room with the two half-angels behind him.

Upon walking into his room, he found everyone waiting inside for him. Bella looked inside and saw Aella reading some papers on the desk.

Beside the bed, Kali and Valeria were playing with Serin. And Tina was bringing some water to Aella.

Mira, on the other hand, was sitting alone in the corner, dismantling a strange device.

Aella shifted her attention to Arad and quickly to the two girls at his side. “Those are?”

“The diplomats, Ward’s daughter. The paladin general who attacked me on the border.” Arad replied, and Aella nodded.

“I see. But why are they dying now?” She asked, and Arad looked down, noticing the pale two sisters as their eyes remained fixed on Kali, who looked back at them with a smile.

Up until now, the two sisters held to the belief that Arad didn’t really have a goddess as his wife, but just now, they realised it was true.

Right now, the two angels found themselves in the same room as a true goddess. Not just any goddess, but the goddess of demons and destruction.

Most people only saw Kali as a kid. But those attuned to divine magic, like half-angels, saw something else.

To Bella and Stella, Kali looked as she did to everyone else, a child, but a massive golden radiance burned behind her back. The gargantuan shadow radiated a terrifying presence, enough to prevent them from breathing. Looking at her, the two felt like rats stuck beneath the arm of a hydraulic press, about to be turned into a paste.

The two sisters couldn’t understand the scope of Arad’s power just by seeing him, but Kali was a different matter. They didn’t need anyone to tell them what harrowing power the goddess of literal destruction has.

The world was but an egg in her palm, carefully carried. If Kali so wished, she could break it with ease. The simple fact of Kali standing here without the whole kingdom evaporating was a blessing. Everyone expected the goddess of destruction to destroy.

Kali took a few hops toward the two sisters and extended a hand to them. “Welcome!”

While everyone saw a cute, pink little girl, the sisters saw the literal horror of ruin and destruction. Those tiny hands were nothing but harrowing, terrifying, and appalling. How could such a demonic being masquerade as a harmless little girl?

It was the sister’s talent and knowledge in the art of divine magic that allowed them to see and understand better than anyone the power of the little girl standing in front of them. Grace, a powerful shadow drakaina had pissed herself and lost consiousness upon sensing Kali’s attack coming down on her, and that was just one of the titan’s hands crashing down.

Bella and Stella hated their birthday; they loathed that day and would never celebrate it. Because to them, it doesn’t symbolize another year of life, but another year closer to death. No one would celebrate every ticking second of a bomb that’s about to explode on their faces.

All living beings slowly degrade through their lives; the minor damages accumulate until they surpass the body’s ability to regenerate its cells perfectly, and everything falls out of balance.

Destruction brings people to death, and time is just a medium. This little girl in front of them got her grippy little hands on every living being, slowly eroding them to death. They might not have met Kali in person before, but the two already had a reason to dislike her.

Of course, the two sisters knew better than to contend with the wisdom of the gods. If Kali thinks that people are better off living their lives and dying, then so be it. Immortality is wrong in its own way.

Kali tilted her head and looked at them. “Why are you scared?”

The sisters didn’t reply; they couldn’t even hear her as their minds still raced to find a way to flee from her.

Kali smiled, “I see! Those two understand destruction a bit better than others. They are looking straight at my divine essence. Naughty little girls.” She waved her hand, and the sisters gasped.

“The hell was that?” Bella cried, and Stella held her face in her palms, “My head hurts.”

They they looked at Kali, cried and fell on their butts.

Kali smiled, “Ah, this is better.”

Arad looked at them and asked with a worried face. “What did you do?”

“Seeing me was an existential crisis to their minds and almost drove them to madness. So I broke some of their fear to drop it to a normal level.” She approached the two sisters.

“I don’t understand, how could you break fear?” Arad lifted an eyebrow, and she waved her fingers.

“There is a part of the brain that regulates fear(The amygdala). I just gave it a poke.”
