The dragon's harem

Chapter 1393 - 1393: A Will of Greed

Alexander’s eyes only moved up, and his crimson eyes drowned in blinding light. Hear, magic, radiation, and a deadly shockwave.

The earth ruptured, and the sky cried as a pillar of fire roared into the sky and a destructive wave washed over the battlefield, stomping it to the ground.

Standing alone on the boiling lava, Alexander looked toward the mountain where Arad was. His armor glowed red from the heat, but his skin remained as flawless as it was.

“Hmmm, a soldier dares to fire at his commander?” He spoke in a cold, emotionless tone. “Treason is punished by death.”

He blinked away, leaving a crater where he stood. Before a fraction of a second could pass, he was already beside Arad, swinging a burning fist at Arad’s side.

Alexander was fast, too fast, but Arad had many tricks inside his stomach.

ORA! Another Arad emerged from Arad’s back and swung a punch down, socking Alexander in the face before he could hit Arad.

The sheer shockwave from Arad’s punch hitting Alexander’s face was enough to strip the mountain’s peak naked and scatter the clouds away. Arad expected to blast the god away, but the gaunt man didn’t move an inch.

“You survived the blast, as I expected. But without a scratch, now that’s a surprise.” Arad spoke, his voice growing deeper and deeper with each word as his incarnation stood behind his back.

Alexander spat blood and looked at Arad with a large grin. “So those cowards sent a single soldier at me, and a weakling recruit at that.”

In the blink of an eye, and before Arad could even notice, Alexander flew past him and grabbed the incarnation by the neck and swung a fist at its face.

Arad’s incarnation’s head hit the ground like a rocket, and the mountain crumbled beneath the pressure of Alexander’s devastating punch. Everything happened so fast that Arad was late to react, but he did in the end, grabbing the god by the beard and swinging him away.

Alexander grabbed Arad’s arm before he could throw him away and tried to counter with a kick, but the incarnation was already up and attacked. His powerful punch had failed to crack Arad’s bones, only breaking his nose.

Alexander wasn’t a stranger to facing many enemies at once. He had, in fact, fought groups of people far stronger than Arad and won. What made Arad harder to deal with is that the two fighting Alexander worked perfectly in sync since they are one person, making it much harder to deal with them.

One fist after another, the battle grew harsher. The mountain shook and cracked, shattering beneath the violent crash of the three harrowing powers above it. Beneath the grey sky and above the crimson glow of the lava lake created by Arad’s explosion, a storm of blood and violence filled the air.

Five seconds later, Arad and his incarnation landed on the lava, cooling it with cold magic. Alexander landed a hundred meters away from them and floated on the surface without bothering to do anything.

Arad and his incarnation were severely bruised, and one even had his left arm broken, but Alexander was mostly unscathed, only having a few scratches on his face and armor.

Even though Arad was the one losing the fight, Alexander frowned and looked at him, “You’re one quick learner, aren’t you?”

Arad looked at his limp, broken arm. “What could I say? I love to pay attention. Besides, my wounds aren’t healing, so I’d better learn your moves quick.”

Arad still didn’t know why, but his blood healing wasn’t working all that well since he walked into this barrier. He couldn’t tell if it was because of the seal or Alexander’s power, but all he knew was that he needed to be careful.

Arad looked through all of his weapons, looking to see if he had anything that would help him slay a god. As it happened, he already had two weapons that could achieve such a thing, but in two completely different ways.

Two fighting styles, luckily, Arad had two bodies to use. The first one moved forward, and the Exploding Nipple Knife appeared in his hand. Alexander’s eyes quickly fixated on the tiny kitchen knife that comically didn’t fit in Arad’s massive palm.

“An artifact made by a mad artificer that really hated nipples. Aren’t humans so weird? Why hate nipples?” Alexander shook his head in dejection.

“I have to agree, they are great.” Arad smiled, lifting the knife, “But yours aren’t, time to make them disappear.”

In the back, Arad’s incarnation pulled the second weapon that could slay a god, and this time, Alexander looked a bit worried. It was a long staff made from a branch of the world tree and had a mundane, glass orb as the focus with nothing inside.

“Who made that thing?” Alexander slowly lifted his hand and pointed at the staff. “The style is similar to Mora, but it’s far more arrogant.”

“Arrogant? You couldn’t be further from the truth.” Arad pointed the staff forward.

“The wielder is mine, the world is his, and it shall bend the knees and beg for mercy. Those who dare stand in his way shall pay, pay for daring to look at what’s mine.” Alexander smiled, “To dare claim ownership over you, over the world, and cast their will with such arrogance. I’m surprised the world itself didn’t reject that thing. It even turned a mundane glass orb with nothing inside it into a vessel for void magic.”

Arad looked at the staff. When Mira made it, she indeed only used mundane glass with nothing inside it; that was just a metaphor that she hoped would fit the weapon, but it ended up working and boosted Arad’s magic.

If what Alexander says is right, then Mira’s will forced the world to change its rules to suit her whims. She claimed the power to change the world, and the world did bend over and agree, which was far too ridiculous to believe.

What Arad didn’t know is that if AO’s wife claimed the world to be hers, who’s there to argue with her? That’s greed, her portfolio, and she has every right to claim from what her husband owns.

“The one who made it is just that talented.” Arad smiled, and Alexander burst into laughter.

“Fool, whoever made that had bent the world to their will. It’s not talent, but pure greed, arrogance, and something else, something far darker.” He smiled, “Someone like that shouldn’t be allowed to live.”
