Chapter 111: Chapter 12 Quinn
Grande’s two brothers were sitting in the van, driving along the Charles river heading west. The two of them looked helpless, and there was a square metal liquor bottle in front of the car window with ‘holy water’ in it.
The reason for the current situation was that Mrs. Quinn called and asked for the ‘miracle’ to appear again.
“If I could, I would go to the church personally.” Those were the original words of Mrs. Quinn, “But Amanda couldn’t move. So I need you to bring the ‘Holy Water’.”
Therefore, Zach and Benjamin only had to make this trip.
Benjamin looked at the ailing Zach, “At least Quinn didn’t ask for the miracle to “appear” in the hospital.”
“Of course.” Zach was sitting in the front passenger seat. The afternoon sun made him really unable to gather his energy, but the scent of a werewolf was always reminding him on his side, which wonderfully evoked the instinctive vigilance of the vampire so that he would not fall asleep completely.
“Mrs. Quinn is a clever woman. It’s too conspicuous to recover suddenly in the hospital.” It was precisely because of the werewolf around him, the vampire couldn’t consume his food all the time. This was not because his life was not in danger, and it was not near the full moon yet, but because of respect.
If the vampire and the werewolf were to describe each other’s smell, the answer would be ‘stinky’.
So the current Zach had to light up cigarettes one by one, hoping to arrive at the destination quickly. But the destination was not a real pavilion with light everywhere. Zach still remembered the atrium of Mrs. Barton’s house was simply like a gorgeous glass bottle.
Benjamin looked at Zach, smiled, and took out a wooden jar, “Do you want to try it?”
Zach took the wooden jar and asked, “Is this the one Spell gave you?”
“Mhm.” Benjamin nodded.
Zach raised his eyebrows. “You would actually be willing to share this thing.”
“The production method must be in the box she left behind.” Benjamin said very practically, “We can make it again when we finish this one.”
Zach showed a look of disappointment and returned the wooden jar to Benjamin.
“Do you really not want it?” Benjamin asked suspiciously, he didn’t think Zach was really disappointed in his practical answer.
“Of course I want it, but I prefer to try it at night at Grande Funeral Home.”
Benjamin thought for a while, thinking that this answer was reasonable. After all, they still didn’t know what the real purpose of this thing was.
Quinn Manor. This time the security guards did not check them but seemed to be waiting. The gate of the manor was opened as soon as the Grande’s truck, which did not fit with the surrounding environment at all, appeared. Benjamin didn’t waste time going around in a circle, and he parked his truck directly before the fountain and behind the main entrance.
The servants then led the two directly upstairs.
Across the long corridor, Zach had already smelled the smell of blood and medicine. The two were led into a room. The layout here was similar to the apartment in the Northern District of Barton City. The difference was that the decoration and furniture were much higher-end. Wealthy old people, such as Mrs. Quinn, usually employed full-time caregivers. This was obviously the residence of the female caregiver named Amanda.
For this young female caregiver who they had seen as many times as they had seen Mrs. Quinn, both brothers of the Grande family had a good impression of her, so when they saw the person lying on the bed, both of them frowned.
Mrs. Quinn was obviously not parsimonious in taking care of those who worked for her. Amanda’s bedroom has been turned into an intensive care unit. Various instruments were placed in a space isolated with transparent plastic. Amanda’s head had been fixed, her body had also been tied up by a belt. The back of her hand was connected to the infusion tube. The red and blue wires extended from the instrument, sticking to the skin under her clothes. The transparent oxygen mask on the face was regularly covered with white fog, dissipating, covering, dissipating.
Although nothing could be seen from the front, the vampire could already feel the real wound was on her back.
“The priest’s podium hit her back and hurt her spine.” Mrs. Quinn spoke after she had dispersed everyone, “The operation can only make her live, but she will be paralyzed forever.”
Zach looked at the person inside through the plastic curtain. Looking up along the infusion tubes on the back of her hand, as expected, she was still under anesthesia.
“She doesn’t know anything yet, right?” Zach looked at Mrs. Quinn with a wry smile.
“Yes. She doesn’t need to know.” Quinn looked at Zach, “Because everything will be back to normal when she wakes up.”
Zach frowned, looked at the layout here, not saying anything.
“Don’t worry.” Mrs. Quinn lowered her eyes, “Everything is under my control, no one will say a thing.”
Zach thought for a while, “We also hope that Mrs. Quinn will also not say anything.”
Mrs. Quinn cast a glance at Zach, “Did Mrs. Barton say anything out of turn? What did she say?”
Zach didn’t respond.
Mrs. Quinn didn’t reveal any expression. Because the wrinkles had already shredded all expressions into countless pieces, like a broken mirror, neither the vampire nor the werewolf could find a complete face.
“Fair enough.” Mrs. Quinn sat down, “So you can also understand how we do things. Barton and Hermanns, we are very satisfied with how you handled those requests. ”
Zach and Benjamin looked at each other, “Mr. Hermanns-” Mrs. Quinn answered Zach’s question directly.
“He is not. He is not in our circle.” At this moment, Mrs. Quinn’s mouth clearly showed a smile, a bunch of wrinkles was squeezed, and another bunch of wrinkles was stretched, “But you are very good. You have set your own rules. Barton has done you a favor.”
Zach really wanted to drink ‘wine’. Grande’s own rules? Now Zach discovered that this was actually the rule of Barton’s most sophisticated society. It was just the special nature of Grande that made him have to implement this rule.
“I heard that you rejected the follow-up request of the boy from the Quest family. That’s good.” Quinn looked at Zach.
Zach really needed a sip of “wine” now, and he actually did it too. As if at random, he took out his liquor bottle and took a sip. His rejection of Mr. Quest’s request was only two hours ago, and Quinn already knew about it!
“You must abide by the rules you set yourself. No matter what the reason is, you only need to break the rule once and then you are no longer worthy of trust.” Mrs. Quinn stared at Zach’s light green eyes, “If we trust you, you can trust us.”
Zach tightened the bottle in his hand and curled his mouth, “Then, we accept Mrs. Quinn’s second request. Mrs. Quinn, Please leave this room temporarily.”
Mrs. Quinn nodded and left the room slowly.
After another moment, a slight sigh of relief was heard through the wall by Zach. Our vampire also breathed a sigh of relief like Mrs. Quinn.
“Benjamin, talking to these people makes me forget that I am the guy who has lived for hundreds of years sometimes.”
Benjamin curled his lips. “But your skills are unabated. You won their trust without saying a word.”
Zach squinted, and the werewolf’s word greatly satisfied his vanity.
