Chapter 112: Chapter 13 Joint Burial
Exiting Amanda’s room, there were only a few servants waiting outside, nervously watching the two coming out.
Zach thought about it, but decided to trust Mrs. Quinn’s ability.
Under the guidance of a servant, the two came to the balcony in front of the atrium. Mrs. Quinn seemed to like this place very much.
“How is she.” Quinn looked at the two.
“She was very lucky and didn’t suffer any serious injuries. She will be fine in just a few days.” Zach smiled and replied according to Mrs. Quinn’s arrangement.
Mrs. Quinn nodded with a relieved expression in her eyes. There was already a check on the delicate table. Instead of handing it out, she waved her hand to signal them to sit down.
“Do you have any worries?” As Quinn beckoned, a servant brought over new refreshments.
The two bowed and sat down. Then Zach answered seriously, “We trust Mrs. Quinn.”
Mrs. Quinn had a rare smile on her face, “Actually, I have also been hesitating to find you.”
Zach smiled bitterly, his light green eyes were trying to find out Quinn’s expression, “Mrs. Quinn, it is better not to do such risky things. We should not pin our hopes of life on miracles, such unrealistic things.”
“Mhm.” Mrs. Quinn snorted. Although there was a hint of mockery on her face, she didn’t have any malice. “Do you prefer Barton’s blunt statement?” Quinn glanced at the two of them, “I don’t think you would like that either.”
Zach nodded. ‘You have restored my dying body, and now my caregiver is also suffering the same problem, please restore her health.’ If Mrs. Quinn requested this, then Zach and Benjamin would also come to Quinn’s manor. However, the purpose of their visit would be to remove her memory. ‘Health’ was a very, very dangerous requirement… for humans.
“Mrs. Quinn is right.” Zach continued to say with a serious expression, “However, I still want to remind Mrs. Quinn not to pin any hopes on this in the future.”
Mrs. Quinn’s eyelids lowered, she acquiesced, and sighed, “In this world, there are not many people I care about. Amanda… I admit that this is risky, but still, I am willing to try. For this, I am very grateful to you.” Mrs. Quinn nodded to the two of them.
Zach thought for a while, nodded, and accepted Mrs. Quinn’s thanks.
“But thinking about it now, the person I should be most grateful for is Alice.” Mrs. Quinn looked at Zach.
Zach lifted the teacup from the table and tilted his head slightly, indicating that Quinn was as cunning as the old fox.
Mrs. Quinn looked at Zach’s expression, smiled, and started to talk, “I heard that you have visited Raiput. Does she not like it?”
“Hmmm…” Zach drew his voice out, “That environment is not suitable for her.”
Mrs. Quinn’s eyes fell on Benjamin, and took a sip of tea casually, “I heard Barton say that Lola likes you very much.”
“She just likes to hear stories from the war.” Benjamin lowered his head and glanced at Zach, and answered.
Mrs. Quinn put down the teacup and continued to ask casually, “How is Hank?”
“Same as usual.” Zach answered.
“What about the Great Dane?”
“Still a foodie.”
Mrs. Quinn was silent for a while, and Zach also waited quietly. He could see that Mrs. Quinn was inquiring about the information of the Grande family, but the vampire did not feel malicious from her. Maybe she was just curious.
Mrs. Quinn thought for a while, then spoke again, “There is one more thing that I need you, Grande to do.”
“Please.” Zach leaned forward, listening.
“Thank you for your reminder last month. I have been thinking about the joint burial.”
Zach was confused, “Are they starting to remove the cemetery in the western district?”
What Mrs. Quinn said was of course the real grave of her son and daughter-in-law. The grave that had a nameless tombstone made by Old Grande and Old Hank in the north section of the cemetery, but had their real names in the record.
Mrs. Quinn shook her head, “No. The notice from the city government is in the fall. but…”
Zach thought for a while, nodded in understanding. The grave under the name of Mrs. Quinn’s son and his wife was actually just a Cenotaph. It was just a way of paying respect to most who had died on the battlefield, and never to be able to have their bodies retrieved. This was the loophole that Quinn had used. The real bodies were actually buried in the North section in the cemetery of the Grande’s western district cemetery.
Two months ago, Mrs. Quinn had made an appointment with Zach for the joint burial of the Quinn family’s old graves. At that time, Zach did not quite understand the purpose of Mrs. Quinn’s appointment and only thought that Mrs. Quinn wanted to use money to attract Grande.
Last month, after Old Hank found out the old accounts, Zach realized that Mrs. Quinn had long been planning to give ‘name’ back to his son.
There have been a lot of people moving graves recently. It seemed that Mrs. Quinn wanted to take this advantage and get it done without attracting attention.
“Does Mrs. Quinn have any thoughts?” Zach stopped the troublesome probing question and asked directly “But there have been a lot of people moving graves recently. If Mrs. Quinn wants to do this, I’m afraid you will need to wait for a while.”
Mrs. Quinn nodded and added, “Plus what happened to the churches today.” Mrs. Quinn frowned, and apparently had heard of accidents in other churches, “I heard that there was also an accident in the Church of God the Son.”
“Mhm.” Zach nodded, “But it was not serious. It’s just that the altar where the candles are placed has collapsed. Fortunately, not many people go to that church.”
“Does it affect the funeral appointment?” Mrs. Quinn asked.
“The funeral that was originally going to take place this afternoon was canceled and postponed.” There was a hint of helplessness in Zach’s eyes. They were all famous people in Barton. He didn’t want to offend any of them, but this delay had made him offend everyone.
Mrs. Quinn could feel Zach’s helplessness. She shook her head and said, “It’s fine, I don’t need a church. It’s just a joint burial, I don’t want to attract anyone’s attention. ”
“It might be difficult.” Zach was telling the truth. The funeral service in the church was indeed not necessary, but in everyone’s perception, Mrs. Quinn’s son and his wife are heroes during the war. It was impossible to move the grave without being noticed, even if it was just a small Cenotaph.
“I know.” Mrs. Quinn sighed and raised her eyes to look at the two Grande Brothers, “So you can treat this as a job left behind by the previous generation.”
According to Mrs. Quinn, it was Old Hank and Old Grande who handled the burial. Now, it was also their responsibility to relocate them.
Zach smiled, “In that case, the Grande Funeral Home will cooperate with Mrs. Quinn. In terms of time, we will Mrs. Quinn can decide it.”
“Mhm, when I decide the date, I will notify you.” Mrs. Quinn pressed her hand on the check on the table and pushed it to Zach.
Zach folded the check and put it away, stood up with Benjamin, bowed again, and said goodbye to Quinn.
