Sauros was right. The beast's movements while turning weren't that sharp or fast. Thanks to that, those three reached the back of the enemy's head in no time. Still, the creature had some good senses and swung the tentacles at them without even seeing them properly…

Aion raised his shield and blocked the attack. Still, he also decided to follow the theory that the best defense was a dropkick on the neck of the enemy. The power of the enemy's strike decreased quite a bit… because Aion made some earth spikes emerge around him.

Those cracked after being hit, but they also pierced a bit of the enemy's flesh and made the tentacle flinch. In that short window of hesitation, Sauros and Seris attacked the wounds on the tentacles and caused them to increase in size.

"Nice thinking, keep doing that, Aion!" Sauros said.

"Behold the power of my big brain," Aion said. "You might have a bigger head, monster, but it seems it isn't quite filled. Die, monster! You don't belong in this world! Or… Begone! This world was not meant for the likes of you! Which one is cooler?"

"You are saying weird things in such a crucial moment…" Seris frowned.

As if the monster could tell that Aion was making fun of it, the creature got angry and then swung two tentacles at him. He didn't try to dodge, and the others just braced themselves for the impact. However, more spikes prevented the monster from showing its true power. Aion still felt like his bones were cracking, but he blocked the attack of two tentacles and made the creature flinch once again.

"What are you guys waiting for?" Aion asked.

Aion wished that he could attack more than that… unfortunately, each strike of the tentacles made him lose twenty percent of his health, so he had to heal himself and let the others do the rest.

The wounds on the monster's tentacles were increasing, and its red blood was starting to fall around. If Aion could use his spear and attack, he would be able to use the Bleed passive skill and make the monster lose even more health, but hoping to take more than one hit with that class was just too much.

After suffering some more injuries, the monster realized that it had to change its approach to the fight. Instead of attacking the group with its tentacles or water cannons, the beast fired some dark balls from the holes in its arms.

"Get back!" Aion shouted. "Don't let those even scratch you!"

Sauros and Seris quickly followed Aion's command. They didn't have much experience dealing with poison, and neither did Aion. Still, his mother taught him while he was learning healing magic that poison in that world can be quite nasty… even more when it comes from monsters like that. In fact, the fall of the Mirelis kingdom was a great part of the use of the poisons that the bandits' country had developed. A poison that could numb the senses and fog the mind to prevent the concentration needed for their magic to work…

In the end, those two thanked Aion for his warning… when the dark spheres touched the ground, they began to burn it… but even despite the fact that they avoided a direct hit wasn't enough, the smell made them feel dizzy. Aion was fine due to his resistance, it wasn't enough for direct hits, but it was enough for the area of effect spells. Without any other choice, he used Devotion on those two again.

Sauros and Seris felt better and then realized that Aion used that magic again. In the end, he did the right thing… if the monster fills the area with that poison, then they would lose without being able to do anything.

Seris increased the speed of their whole bodies, and then they ran in opposite directions while firing with their crossbows. The massive beast tried to hit both of them with the dark balls simultaneously, but when the attacks got too close, they bent their bodies a little and dodged them.

"The finesse in their moves improved…" Aion thought. "Seris is probably using her powers to the limits… but it won't last for long."

The beast kept attacking, but not a single dark ball landed. Moreover, thanks to their speed, they could fire their projectiles faster and reload their weapons in the blink of an eye. Their focus was so high that they didn't even put a single foot on the spots on the ground hit by the dark balls.

The monster got confused… even without the direct hit, the smell of the poison should have taken them down… his instincts told him that the answer to those questions lay on the human with the shield who wasn't moving from the spot. Still, attacking him recklessly didn't seem like a good idea…

In the end, the beast decided to target Sauros and Seris with its tentacles. The area of the physical attacks was larder, and if the beast combined them, the chances of hitting them increased… and that was exactly what the beast did.

Sauros and Seris saw a massive block of four tentacles to each other being swung at them. They tried to speed up even more, but it didn't look like they were going to escape that, and the real problem was the fact that all the damage was going to be transferred to Aion.

Sauros summoned his staff with his magic, and Seris increased her speed even more. Still, before anything could happen, the monster suddenly stopped, and then they heard the sound of a lightning falling nearby. They looked to the side for a moment and saw some sparks around Aion's sword.

"You can't leave me alone here…" Aion said. "Ignoring me isn't a good idea."

Smoke began to leave the monster's head, but the beast soon recovered… not fast enough, though. Sauros and Seris bombarded its face with their crossbows.
