Lucas' parents and the hospital have agreed that Lucas will undergo surgery this afternoon and now Lucas is in the operating room with the medical team in charge of treating him.
Meanwhile, in another room Ellena and Briana were still lying weakly on the hospital gurney with their eyes closed. A few minutes ago, they had been moved from the Emergency Room to the inpatient room. They were deliberately placed in the same room, in order to facilitate further examination.
Based on the medical examination that has been carried out, they did not suffer serious life-threatening injuries. However, for some reason they are still unconscious.
It seemed that the accident had shaken their mental state enough, so it took them quite a while to come back to their senses.
"Lucas ... Ma'am ...."
A soft voice suddenly sounded from Ellena's lips which seemed to tremble slightly, indicating that Ellena had come to her senses. He seemed to slowly open his eyes. However, he immediately squinted as the glare of the lights in the room, penetrated the retina of the eye.
Ellena's eyes widened again after she managed to keep her eyesight for a while, trying to adapt to the light in the room.
"Lucas? Mother?" Ellena was taken aback, lifting herself up to sit on the bed, while remembering Lucas and his mother who she didn't know what their condition was.
"Ow!"
Ellena groaned as her head felt a little dizzy and heavy. One hand seemed to be holding his head, with his eyes closed again, trying to hold back the pain. However, it didn't last long. He then ignored the pain, wanting to quickly know the condition of Lucas and his mother.
The accident is still vivid in his memory. At first glance, he seemed to be replaying the scene where Lucas' car crashed into a power pole in one hit.
"Oh my God ... what has happened to us," she whispered as she bowed slightly, then wiped her face with both hands.
He glanced left and right alternately, looking for Lucas and Briana in the room.
"Ma'am?" Ellena was wide-eyed when she found her mother lying helplessly on the gurney next to her.
He immediately lowered his feet, then walked over to his mother with slightly staggered steps because he still felt dizzy in his head.
"Mother! Mother, wake up!" Ellena slightly shook Briana's body who was still unconscious. Instantly tears fell from his eyes, feeling worried to see his mother's condition.
"Ma'amm, wake up!" Ellena pleaded, sobbing softly.
"Thank God... Miss has come to her senses."
A woman's soft voice instantly caught Ellena's attention. She turned around while wiping her tears. There was a nurse who had just entered the room, carrying a patient record book in her hand. A smile appeared on the nurse's face.
"Sister, how is my mother? Why won't she wake up?" asked Ellena excitedly over to the nurse who was already standing at the end of the gurney where her mother was lying.
The nurse smiled again, before responding to Ellena's question. "Miss, you'd better get some sleep. I'll re-examine you." She said without answering Ellena's concern.
"No, Sister! I have to know first, how is my mother's condition right now," replied Ellena, refusing the nurse's request, who was identified as Zeline, judging from the name tag attached to her right chest.
"Your mother just passed out, just like you did an hour ago. Don't worry, maybe Mrs. Briana will wake up soon." Zeline replied trying to calm Ellena.
"Really?" asked Elena to confirm. It seemed that he could not immediately believe the nurse's words.
"Yes. We did an examination of Mrs. Briana and the results were good, she didn't suffer any serious injuries. We hope that our examination is not wrong and that Mrs. Briana will be fine." Zeline explained at length, trying to convince Ellena.
Hearing that explanation, Ellena seemed to let out a short breath while rubbing her chest, feeling relieved. "Thank God ... I'm very worried about my mother." she whispered with a pitiful expression.
"Don't worry. Your mother will be fine, Miss."
"Elle ...."
Ellena and Zeline turned their heads when a low voice caught their attention. Ellena gasped happily, finding her mother who seemed to have opened her eyes and looked at her.
"Ma'am!" Ellena immediately approached her mother again with hasty steps. "Ma'am, are you all right?" She asked, holding Briana's shoulders and arms questioningly.
Instead of answering, Briana closed her eyes again, as if she was feeling something. This suddenly made Ellena look even more panicked and worried.
"Ma'am! Ma'am, why?" asked Ellena as she rocked Briana's body.
"Miss, let me check on Mrs. Briana first." Zeline said as she approached Briana. Now she was standing opposite Ellena, with the gurney separating them.
"I'm okay, Sister. I just feel a little dizzy." Briana whispered as she raised one hand and placed it on her forehead.
"Does your head feel very dizzy, Madam?" Zeline asked for sure after Briana opened her eyes again.
"N-no, Sister. Just a little." Briana replied.
"It's normal, maybe because during the accident you suffered a light blow to your head or it could be because you've been unconscious for too long, so your head feels heavy when you open your eyes," explained Zeline.
Meanwhile, Ellena only took turns watching Zeline and her mother.
"Okay, let me do a re-examination," said Zeline while placing a sphygmomanometer on Briana's arm.
"Her blood pressure is normal." Zeline said after learning the results of the examination. She also continued with another examination while asking several questions related to what Briana was feeling at this time.
"Everything is still normal, there is nothing to worry about. You just need to rest for a while to restore your body's health condition to its original state." Zeline explained after she finished conducting a series of examinations on Briana.
"Okay, Sister. Thank you," said Briana with a small smile.
"Thank you, Sister." Ellena said the same thing and the nurse immediately responded with a big smile.
"Miss, you should lie down first because I also have to re-examine your current condition." Zeline asked Ellena. "I just want to make sure that you are also okay." She added later which immediately received a positive response from Ellena.
Ellena got up and went to her bed again, laying her body there in a supine position.
As was done to Briana, Zeline also did the same thing to Ellena. Doing several checks while asking the same question.
"Miss, you also just need to rest. Don't move much because your condition is quite weak." Zeline explained after she finished checking on Ellena.
"Okay, Sister. Thank you." Ellena answered quietly.
"I'll prepare the medicine for you later," said Zeline, looking at Ellena and Briana alternately without fading the smile on her face. "Okay, I'll excuse myself first because I have several other patients I have to treat." She added goodbye, then turned around to leave the place.
"Sister, wait!" called Ellena who suddenly made Zeline's steps stop and then turned to her.
"Is there anything else I can help you with, Miss?" Zeline asked.
"How is my husband's condition?" asked Ellena straight to the point.
Didn't answer right away. Zeline seemed to put on a pitiful expression, then looked down for a moment and looked back at Ellena with the same expression as before.
"Your husband is in critical condition, Miss." Zeline informed her because she couldn't possibly hide Lucas' current condition from Ellena.
"What?" Ellena rolled her eyes and swiftly changed her body position until she sat down.
"W-what do you mean?" asked Ellena in disbelief.
Not only was Ellena surprised, but also Briana. She looked flabbergasted and immediately covered her mouth with one hand, when she heard the bad news.
"Sorry, Miss, I have to tell you this bad news, because you should know it. After all you are the wife of Mr. Lucas Fidell." Zeline replied with a regretful expression. Yes, sorry for making the patient sad.
"It seems that your husband suffered a very strong impact on his head, so he was bleeding and his condition is very critical. To save your husband, the hospital immediately took surgery and now your husband is still in the operating room, Miss."
Zeline's explanation managed to make Ellena's defense collapse. Instantly tears rolled down her cheeks. It hurt so bad to hear the bad news, it hurt even more when she found out that Keenan was going to marry her best friend.
"No! This can't be. Lucas must be fine." Ellena seemed to be shaking her head, trying to dismiss everything she had just heard from Zeline.
At the same time, she immediately lowered her feet and ran out of the room.
"Miss, you must rest!" called Zeline trying to restrain Ellena. However, Ellena didn't care about it at all.
"Elle!"
Ellena kept running, she didn't even care about her mother's screams. All that was on her mind right now was Lucas' state.
Every now and then she would wipe her tears violently. Her footsteps still didn't stop through the hospital hallway at a fast pace. She didn't want to give up even though her steps were slightly staggered from the dizziness.
Pause. Her breath seemed to be out of breath as her legs started to feel weak. However, she still wanted to try hard to immediately go to the operating room where her husband is currently. Her hands seemed to be holding the walls of the hospital hallway. Reluctantly, she stepped back.
"Lucas, promise me that you will be fine. Wait for me. I will definitely come to accompany you there." Ellena whispered with sobs that grew stronger with her steps. She didn't even care about the few people passing by and watching her.
"I know, you are a strong person. You can't just give up, can you? I know that. You promised me that you would always be there for me. Lucas, please endure," added Ellena and at that moment she ran quickly towards surgery room.
Somehow there was a push from where, so she suddenly had energy. Her legs suddenly had strength again, because they were too excited to go to the operating room. Can't wait to find out about Lucas' real condition.. Until her steps stopped right at a few meters from the operating room.
