The knight’s outpost was rather crowded with both knights and Guild members mixed together.

As I thought, the reason why the Guild was empty was because pretty much everyone had gathered here.

It seems like the knights were going to make an announcement soon so we were all just waiting around for that.

Even though I said it was crowded, it was only because of the fact that the place we were gathered in was not that big to begin with.

The knight’s outpost was basically a small squarish barracks with a training field in the centre which was where we were currently squeezed into right now.

Also, there were obviously more knights than Guild members as we were separated into two groups right now and the disparity in how much space each group took up was clear to see.

“How long more is this going to take…” One of the Mercenaries near me whined.

“As expected of the knights huh… Making us rush to wait just so that they can make us wait to rush…” Another groaned.

Well… I can’t say much because we just got here but it seems like these people have been waiting here for at least close to an hour and a half already.

Right as it seemed like they were going to complain even more, a heavily armoured knight came out from the building while being flanked by two other knights.

He walked up to a podium and raised his hand to get our attention.

“Everyone, I apologise for the wait and I thank you all for coming. My name is Qurajar and I’m the captain of the knights at this outpost. As most of you may already know, there is a Dungeon near the city that is at risk of a Dungeon breakout. Thus, we would need for the monsters to be cleared to mitigate that risk.”

One of the knights that had been accompanying him handed a scroll to him which he unfurled to show us.

“Because of the location of the Dungeon and the monster that had recently broken out of it, I am announcing a state of emergency. This is the writ that will grant anyone free passage to the Dungeon to clear out the monsters regardless of your rank as we are unable to properly determine the rank of the Dungeon at this time.”

His announcement caused a wave of murmurs to sweep through the crowd on the Guild members side.

“They don’t even know the rank of the Dungeon and he wants us to go in there? Isn’t that just telling us to go and get ourselves killed?”

“Why is this even necessary?”

“I heard the monster that broke out from the Dungeon swept through a whole contingent of knights easily…”

“Hey… I’m only an E rank… Should I really be here?”

“I mean… If they’re gathering everyone, they should have some sort of a plan right? I don’t think they would really just send us to die like that…”

“Yeah, they also gathered the knights right?”

The knight captain ignored the murmurs to continue, “Unfortunately, most of the knights will not be joining on this Dungeon hunt as they will be clearing out the monsters that had been scattered throughout the forest thanks to that monster rampaging around so I’m afraid that most of the Dungeon clearing will have to be done by the rest of you.”

The murmurs stopped and most of the people on our side were giving each other worried looks.

Someone at the front raised up a hand and the knight captain shook his head, “Allow me to finish first, I will handle questions later. First I shall outline the plan.”

He furled the scroll and another knight pushed a board into the training field where several papers had been stuck on it.

One of the pictures stood out as I realised it was a pretty accurate drawing of the Tyrannosaurus-Rex that we had killed.

The knight captain pointed at the board, “As I had said earlier, we do not know the rank of the Dungeon as the scouts that we sent were unable to determine the rank of the Dungeon properly as they are monsters that we have never seen before. We may be looking at a completely new type of Dungeon that is the first in this world.”

The atmosphere around the Guild members changed again, this time in the other direction.

“New monsters?!”

“A new type of Dungeon?!”

“Damn! We’re so lucky!!”

I turned to the girls with a questioning look.

Lisa grinned and leaned over to whisper, “New monsters and Dungeons mean new materials and loot that no one has ever seen before. And that means you would be able to sell the things you get in those Dungeons for really high prices. There were incidents where even F ranked Dungeons helped someone earn over a million Creas because the materials were new despite being trash. People would just buy them for fear of missing out.”

“But then that would mean that they are taking a big risk by going to a Dungeon and fighting monsters that they have completely no information on, right?” I pointed out.

She gestured to the excited Dungeoneers around us, “As you can see… The prospect of being rich overpowers their caution most of the time.”

Emilia chimed in, “If one really wants to earn a lot of money, then you cannot be afraid to take risks.”

I guess that’s true…

The knight captain raised his hand again to get our attention, “As some might have heard, there was a monster that had recently broken out from the Dungeon but it was defeated a few days ago by a brave party. This was what it looked like.”

He drew our attention to the picture stuck in the centre of the board and everyone inspected it carefully.

“That’s… What is that?”

“I’ve never seen that monster before…”

“So it really is a new type of monster huh…”

“Damn… I really can’t pass up this opportunity then…”

“But what kind of monster is that though? Can we beat it?”

“Fortunately for us,” The captain continued, right before he turned to look directly in my direction. “The party that defeated this monster is with us today. Can we ask that you share what you know about this monster, please?”

Everyone turned to look at where the knight captain was looking, which was me.

Ah… Err… What do I do now?

God damn it… If you wanted me to do a presentation, you could have at least had the decency to tell me ahead of time, you know?

Ugh, fine… It wouldn’t even be the first time I had to give an impromptu speech anyway…

Back in my original World, I might sometimes be asked to give an impromptu speech during an event as well…

I started walking towards the captain and the crowd parted to make way for me, allowing me to step up beside the knight captain.

He stuck out his hand and I shook it.

He nodded at me, “Thank you for saving my men. They would not have made it back without your help.”

I guess he must be talking about those knights I saved from the dinosaur.

“It’s no problem,” I assured him.

He then gestured at the crowd, indicating I should start my ‘presentation’.

I stepped up and gave everyone a wave, “Hello… I’m Aster, leader of the White Dragon’s Sword Maidens. As knight captain Qurajar had said, my party took down that monster when it attacked the merchant convoy we were protecting. This is also the first time we’ve seen this monster so I’m not too sure about the specifics but I can at least share some things that we noticed. First of all, it seems like this monster has resistance to magic.”

Several of the people in the crowd frowned and it wasn’t that hard to figure out that they were mages since they were wearing robes.

“That said, it is still vulnerable to physical attacks, though I have to say that its physical strength does match its size as it can easily crush and pull up trees. Also, it tends to use its tail as a whip so there’s that to watch out for. Additionally, it can fire a laser from its mouth but there’s a small wind up time so you should be able to avoid it if you see it charging up a ball of light in its mouth.”

Huh, there were some of them who actually took out notebooks to scribble down what I said.

The captain turned back to me, “Do you still have the Mana Crystal for that monster?”

I nodded, “Should I bring it out?”

“If you do not mind.”

I believe he wanted to show the crowd how big the crystal was so that they can have a better idea of either how big the monster itself was or how dangerous it might be.

I brought the crystal out from the bangle and… Silence.

Err… Why are they not saying anything and just staring at the crystal?

Did I do something wro–

“Hell yeah!!”

“We’re gonna be rich!!”

“Let’s fucking goooooo!!”
