“That’s the Dungeon huh…” Emilia muttered beside me as we approached the temporary outpost built outside the dungeon in question.

When they said temporary outpost, they really meant it huh…

The place was literally just a large tent set up beside a rock formation that was the entrance with a Guild staff and several knights stationed outside. That was it.

“Everyone entering the Dungeon, please head over here to register!” The Guild staff called out.

All of us, including the knights and the other Guild members started heading over to the Guild staff to do just that.

They want us to register there so that they would know if anyone died in the Dungeon and they would be able to account for it.

In the end, it seems like there would still be at least a few knights that would be entering the Dungeon as well.

And despite the fact that the knight captain had also warned that the monster we took down was classified as a C rank monster, no one amongst the Guild members were even dissuaded from this request.

I guess the allure of money was too much for them to turn down and the knights were desperate for people to help so they turned a blind eye to the fact that there were newbies joining in.

Well… We’re also here partly because of that so we can’t say anything either.

We quickly registered ourselves with the Guild staff before we headed towards the entrance.

My party was the eighth group to enter so we waited for our turn as the group in front of us made their way down the stairs.

The scouts had already reported it was the type of Dungeon that would drop you randomly somewhere on the floor instead of a set location. That’s why you must be prepared to stay for a long period of time if you intend to dive into this Dungeon since you can’t just turn around and return back to the surface right away.

The next thing was… Well… It’s coming up as we were reaching the bottom of the stairs so I’ll let the thing speak for itself.

Instead of emerging in a boss room or a labyrinth, we found ourselves in a dense jungle in the middle of a small clearing.

Yep, it’s those types of Dungeons where it features an entire environment instead of just the labyrinth type.

The scouts had reported that the floor was basically a giant jungle and the stairs leading up and deeper into the Dungeon were located in the same spot. So anyone coming here would just need to head there and they would find the way out.

First thing’s first, I checked that everyone in my party was here before looking around the area to take stock of our surroundings.

It certainly looks like a jungle with the tall trees, the vines and the rather humid air that seemed to cling to our skin.

“Ughh… Why does it feel so sticky?” Emilia whined.

“Wahahaha! I like it though! It feels like I just had a great workout!” Odeta laughed.

I quickly turned to her and placed a hand over my lips, “Shhh… We’re already in a Dungeon right now. Making too much noise will attract the monsters…”

Odeta turned to me, “Isn’t that good? That’s what we want, right?”

Err… Well… I guess that’s true… But I would like to at least do some scouting around first to see how dangerous the dino– I mean… The monsters here are.

We don’t even know if all the monsters here were dinosaurs or it was just that one single monster that looked like a dinosaur.

Katsuki’s ears twitched at that moment and she turned towards the left, “Mistress… There seems to be monsters heading towards us from that direction.”

I grimaced, “They already heard us from all the way over there?”

“I don’t believe they heard us, Mistress… They might have simply caught our scent.”

I made a face, “Alright then… I guess this will be our first fight in this Dungeon. Let’s get ready!”

The girls all moved into their usual positions with me standing all the way at the back.

A few seconds passed and I could hear the rustling coming from the undergrowth which indicated something was coming towards us.

Odeta lowered herself and spread her arms out in preparation to receive whatever was coming.

There was a high pitched shriek before something jumped out from the bushes.

Umm… Yep, that’s a dinosaur… Though it’s a small one compared to the Tyrannosaurus that we had seen earlier.

I estimate that it was only up to my knees in height and that was just a rough guess considering the distance between us.

I narrowed my eyes and tried to use [Screened] on it.

Well… I guess those stats are expected of something like that size… Also this one doesn’t have feathers either.

And this also kind of confirms that this Dungeon is going to be filled with dinosaur monsters, especially since [Screened] even bothered to put a ‘Dino’ in its race which meant there was an entire group of monsters classified as that.

Alright, let’s just get this done and over–

Another shriek came from behind the one that jumped out and four more of those Troodon monsters jumped out from the undergrowth to stand beside its comrade.

Just as I thought that was all of them, even more jumped out and now I was looking at a crowd of at least a dozen of those dinosaurs.

The one that first appeared let out a shrill cry and they zipped across the jungle floor to surround us in a circle, all of them dashing around and keeping a distance away from us.

“Circle formation!” I ordered quickly, prompting the girls to quickly shift themselves to surround me and Lisa.

“Are they also resistant to magic?” Lisa asked.

“Only one way to find out!” I responded, firing a [Spark Strike] at one of them that was running in the circle.

The bolt of lightning struck my target in the side and it let out a shriek of pain as it got flung away to crash into one of the trees.

It spasmed a few times before it flopped onto the ground, dead.

I guess that answers her question.

The other girls also saw what happened and they reacted immediately by moving on the offense instead of staying on the defense.

Odeta went ahead to grab one by the tail and pick it up like it was some kind of toy, the dino letting out a shriek of surprise when it found itself being swung up into the air.

One of its comrades tried to jump at Odeta to save it but my Amrap simply used the dino in her hand like a bat and smacked it away.

Emilia and Katsuki disappeared from where they were before appearing outside the dino encirclement with their blades held at their sides.

About four of the dinos that were running around us suddenly slipped and fell onto the ground, making it look like they merely lost their balance. That was until a pool of blood started to form underneath them before their heads started rolling away from the bodies.

The remaining dinos tried to jump at us all at the same time from different directions, either having no sense of self preservation or believing they still had a chance to win this fight.

Delmare swung her rapier to slash her water encased sword in an arc, cutting down two of them midair.

Odeta went ahead to smack another one out of the air with her improvised weapon while Lisa shot a [Laser] to pierce through the body of another dino.

The last one tried to jump for me so I shot a [Spark Strike] again, the lightning bolt blasting the dino back and frying it.

Just like the first one I attacked, it spasmed for a moment before flopping over, dead.

Hmm… I guess this wasn’t that bad for a first encounter?

If I had to put a rank on these monsters, I would say they were maybe a rank E at most… Though if they hunted in packs like that, they could probably be a D ranked threat for a party that couldn’t respond fast enough.

“So weak…” Odeta whined, tossing the dead Troodon in her hand on the ground like it was trash.

Eh… I have to agree with Odeta I guess… They were indeed pretty weak.

The girls immediately set themselves to start digging out the Mana Crystals from the dead monsters since that’s what we’re going to be profiting from in this Dungeon dive but we didn’t take the materials this time since there was nothing special about these dinos.

Right as I was thinking about which way we should go from here, there was a loud roar coming from the distance which was followed by a scream.

A Mahun sounding scream.

I looked at the girls and they all gave me a look that said they would follow my decision.

Well… I guess we’ll just have to go rescue whoever that was…
